O trabalho propõe um diálogo entre Fausto I, de Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, e Grande sertão: Veredas, de João Guimarães Rosa, acerca do tema do amor. O estudo tem o objetivo de analisar o processo de transformação que esse sentimento promove nos dois protagonistas, Fausto e Riobaldo, descortinando confluências e distanciamentos no tocante às suas experiên-cias. A pesquisa é feita sob a perspectiva histórica do desenvolvimento desse tema na litera-tura ocidental, servindo como ponto de referência para o estudo particular das obras. A cons-trução do espaço, as técnicas narrativas e a vivência do amor são os pontos principais que nortearão o estudo do tema. / The assessment proposes a dialogue between Fausto I, by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, and Grande Sertão: Veredas, by João Guimarães Rosa, around the love theme. The studys objective is to analyse the transformation process these sentiments promote on both protago-nists Faust and Riobaldo, unveiling confluences and distances towards its experiences. The research is concluded based on historic perspective of the development of this theme in occi-dental literature. It is considered as a main point of reference for the particular study work piece. Within the scenario, as well as the narrative techniques and love experience are the key points that will guide the study theme throughout.

O objetivo desta pesquisa é mostrar o legado de Fausto de Goethe na obra de Eça de Queirós, especialmente nos seguintes textos do autor português: O Mandarim, Mefistófeles, Senhor Diabo e São Frei Gil. / The objective of this research is to show the legacy of Faust of Goethe in the work of Eça de Queirós, especially in Portuguese author\'s following texts: O Mandarim, Mefistófeles, Senhor Diabo and São Frei Gil.

A análise desenvolvida no presente trabalho lida com o peculiar acesso do jovem Goethe à questão da subjetividade enquanto uma problemática que, em tempos modernos, traz todo um conjunto de dilemas e contradições em si. O tratamento da participação do autor no que é chamado de discurso moderno da subjetividade se dá, primeiramente, através da identificação de sua apropriação crítica de códigos culturais que lhe foram contemporâneos (como o Pietismo e a Empfindsamkeit), e, em um segundo momento, pela análise detida de seus dois romances do Sturm und Drang. A presente análise confronta, sobretudo, certas categorias tradicionalmente empregadas pela historiografia literária com o fim de generalizar um único modelo antropológico supostamente compartilhado por autores do Sturm und Drang isto é, o modelo do Genie e do indivíduo autônomo pertencente a uma época de crescente ênfase no ideal burguês de Bildung. Não apenas Goethe não compartilharia o mesmo entusiasmo de seus contemporâneos pelo individualismo enquanto valor em si, como também seus dois retratos romanescos desse individualismo sugerem a experiência moderna do Eu como uma entidade potencialmente autodefinidora como um aparato conceitual insuficiente, uma noção permeada por pressuposições metafísicas enganadoras que poderia e deveria ser reconsiderada. O famoso caso trágico de Werther, o indivíduo titânico para o qual não há lugar possível no mundo, é exemplar de tal insuficiência, e o fato de que Goethe continua a lidar com a imagem do ser à procura de seu cerne mais íntimo no romance seguinte, Wilhelm Meisters theatralische Sendung, é tomado como prolongamento de sua participação no corrente discurso filosófico da subjetividade do final do século XVIII. Estes romances são aqui tomados, assim, como dois momentos distintos ainda que de certa forma complementares, ou ao menos coerentes em relação um ao outro do acesso goethiano à problemática. / The analysis developed in the present work deals with the peculiar way the young Goethe portrayed the experience of subjectivity as an issue which, in modern times, brings a whole set of dilemmas and contradictions within itself. The treatment of the author\'s participation in what is here called the modern discourse of subjectivity is developed, first off, through the identification of his critical appropriation of certain cultural codes contemporary to him (such as the Pietistic movement and the Empfindsamkeit), and, in a second moment, through a direct analysis of his two Sturm und Drang novels. The present analysis confronts, above all, certain categories that are traditionally employed by the German literary historiography with the ends of generalizing a single anthropological model supposedly shared by Sturm und Drang authors e.g., the model of the Genie and autonomous individual of an age of growing emphasis upon a bourgeois ideal of Bildung. Against this approach, my claim is that not only Goethe does not share the same enthusiasm held by his contemporaries toward individualism as a value in itself, as his two novelistic portrayals of it suggests the modern experience of the I as the potentially self-defining entity as an insufficient conceptual apparatus, a notion surrounded by deceitful metaphysical presuppositions which could and should be reconsidered. The well-known tragic case of Werther, the titanic subject to whom there could not be any space in the ordinary world, is exemplar of such an insufficiency, and the fact that Goethe continues dealing with the image of the self in search for his innermost core in his following novel, Wilhelm Meisters theatralische Sendung, is taken as a completion of his participation in the ongoing philosophical discourse of subjectivity of the late eighteenth century. These novels are taken, therefore, as two different moments even though they end up being somewhat complementary, or at least coherent in relation to each other of the Goethian access to this issue.

Tradicionalmente, teóricos dos estudos literários têm dado pouco enfoque aos textos orais por acreditarem na escritura como única fonte teorizadora dos textos artísticos desmerecendo, assim, o valor histórico e o caráter próprio da literatura oral. O mesmo ocorre com a literatura voltada para o público infantojuvenil, que, apesar de ter conquistado o mercado editorial, ainda encontra dificuldades em entrar para o rol dos livros aceitos pelo cânone literário. Por meio de adaptações e traduções, tem-se oportunizado a aproximação dos jovens leitores das obras clássicas, cujas linguagens e distância cronológica e social configuram fator de impedimento de sua leitura. O que se pretendeu neste trabalho foi discutir como se deu a passagem da literatura popular/oral para a literatura canônica, tendo como exemplo o caso do Rei dos Elfos e a constituição de um mito literário com base no oral/popular: do Faustbuch ao Fausto de Goethe. Buscou-se fazer uma reflexão acerca do próprio processo de literarização, a partir de histórias contadas através da transmissão e transformadas em literatura para, por fim, ser possível analisar as múltiplas adaptações de Fausto para a literatura infantojuvenil contemporânea. / Traditionally, literary studies theorists have given little focus to oral texts for believing in scripture as the only source of artistic texts with theory disparaging thus the historical value and the very character of oral literature. The same happens with the literature focused on the infant-juvenile public that, despite winning the publishing market, still finds it difficult to get to the list of books accepted by the literary canon. Through adaptations and translations are giving opportunities about the approach of the young readers of classic works, whose languages and chronological and social distance configure deterrent factor of their reading. This paper was intended in discussing how was the transition from folk / oral literature to the canonical literature, taking the example of the King of the Elves and the establishment of a literary myth based on oral / folk: the Faustbuch to Goethes Faust. We tried to make a reflection on itself literature process from stories that were told through the transmission and transformed into literature to finally be possible to analyze the multiple adaptations of Faust for contemporary children and youth literature.

Esta pesquisa propõe-se investigar o romance Os anos de aprendizado de Wilhelm Meister, de Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832), publicado em 1796. Nosso objetivo é realizar, com a análise do romance, uma reconstrução sociológica da noção de formação do indivíduo expressa na obra, articulando-a com o processo de emeregência da noção moderna de liberdade individual. Para tanto, recorre-se a três conceitos-chave do pensamento de Georg Simmel: o conceito de cultura, individualismo quantitativo e individualismo qualitativo. Ao relacionar o enredo do romance com as transformações na estrutura social ocorridas nos séculos XVIII e XIX, as quais são analisadas a partir dos conceitos de Simmel, nosso objetivo é esclarecer a visão de modernidade que se apresenta na obra de Goethe, bem o seu potencial crítico relativo à questão da liberdade individual. / This research aims to investigate the novel Wilhelm Meisters Apprenticeship by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832), published in 1796. Our goal is to build, with the analysis of the novel, a sociological reconstruction from the idea of individual self-cultivation which the novel express and articulate this idea with the process of construction of the modern individual freedom ideal. To perform that, this research uses three key-concepts from Georg Simmel: the concept of culture, quantitative individualism and qualitative individualism. By relating the novels story with the changes of the social structure in the XVIII and XIX centuries, our objective is to clarify the vision of modernity from Goethes novel, as well explore its critical potential on the subject of individual freedom.

Die Bedeutung des Prinzips der Anschaulichkeit wird im Zusammenhang mit Planung und Durchführung einer Unterrichtssequenz zu Johann Wolfgang von Goethes „Faust. Der Tragödie erster Teil“ herausgestellt. Dabei wird besonderes Augenmerk darauf verwendet, die Relevanz dieses Prinzips auch und gerade für die gymnasiale Oberstufe nachzuweisen.
