Sociální aspekty hormonální antikoncepce v životě žen v reprodukčním věku / Social Aspects of Hormonal Birth Control in the Lives of Women of Reproductive Age

Grünbergová, Lenka January 2015 (has links)
The diploma thesis is focused on the social aspects of women's oral hormonal contraception in the lives of two generations of women - daughters and their mothers. The theoretical part introduces the fundamental concepts of contraception research based on gender perspective. It also highlights the important historical milestones related to so-called birth control pill. Furthermore, the development of the contraceptive behavior of the Czech population since the 50s of the 20th century is analyzed. The empirical part of this thesis includes the description of methodology and the analysis of semi-structured interviews with ten women - mothers who were born in the 1960s and their daughters born around the turn of the 80s and 90s. The aim of the analysis is to discover how a generally accepted theory about contraception as the emancipation mechanism that helps women to control their own body and decide about their own reproduction is expressed in the lives of interviewed women. I ask the reason why, when and under what conditions these women decided to use birth control pills and the role of other circumstances in their decision-making. Moreover, I focus on the way how the birth control pills affect the relationship to own body and self-esteem of my respondents. And also, how birth control pills affect...

Model dvouúrovňových her se zaměřením na vliv domácích institucí a preferencí domácích aktérů na příkladu SALT I / Two-level Games: Influence of Domestic Institutions and Preferences of Domestic Actors on the Example of SALT I.

Ježek, Jiří January 2017 (has links)
Concept of Two-level games is one of the most sophisticated approach for analysis of the process of international bargaining. Moreover, many research papers focused either on prediction of the outcome of international negotiations or on explanation of the outcomes of former negotiations are based on premises of this concept. However, its application on real example of the negotiation, specifically, on the SALT I talks between the Soviet Union and the United States shows that the Two-level games is not universally valid since many of its predictions have not been verified. There are certain limitations within crucial independent variables (defined by the concept) connected with domestic institutions and domestic preferences and their influence on the size of win-set which has direct impact on the results of the bargaining process. These limitations must be considered in the research. The analysis of the SALT I explores that heterogeneous preferences as well as relatively strong domestic institutions do not have to result in smaller win-set; that presence of no-agreement costs can reduce an influence of other variables, and; that presence of those non-expected (from the view of the original concept) consequences caused by the adjustment of the independent variables occurs within the negotiations...

Matoušková, Barbora January 2020 (has links)
This thesis deals with the use of didactic games in geography lessons in Czech schools. Its main goal is to use the questionnaire survey to find the so-called examples of good practice in schools. In the introduction there is a short literature search and definition of the term didactic game according to various authors. The main research method is an electronic questionnaire. A total of 72 faculty schools of the Faculty of Science of Charles University were addressed. Finally, 30 primary and secondary school teachers took part in the research. The questionnaire was divided into four parts. In the first part the general opinion of teachers on the concept of didactic game was investigated. The following section of questions was focused on teachers who use didactic games - the extent of games usage, in which topics of geography, as well as specific examples of games and their evaluation. The third section of the questions was intended for teachers who do not use games and found out the reasons that prevent them from using games. The last section of the questions deals with the sociodemographic characteristics of the research sample. The work contains analysis and interpretation of the questionnaire survey, including graphic outputs. The results were processed qualitatively and quantitatively...

Efficiency and Selectivity in the Chlorate Process

Lindberg, Aleksandra January 2021 (has links)
This licentiate thesis presents experimental studies concerning two parts of the electrochemical cell in the chlorate process: a cathode and an anode. Newly synthesized MnOx electrodes were investigated for the cathodic reaction, hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in the chlorate process. In industry addition of toxic and carcinogenic chromium (VI) as sodium dichromate provides high efficiency. Here undesirable addition of sodium dichromate was avoided while high cathodic efficiency was achieved. Cathodic efficiency and selectivity towards HER, achieved by the MnOx electrodes annealed at different temperatures, were measured by means of mass spectrometry (MS). The second study investigated oxygen evolution in the chlorate process, which is an anodic side reaction. The evolution of oxygen decreases anodic efficiency and also presents a safety risk due to occurrence of HER in the undivided cell. We followed the amount of produced oxygen by two types of the electrode TiRu, similar to that industrially used, and synthesized TiRuSnSb, by means of MS. The produced oxygen amount was compared to the amount produced by Pt. To our best knowledge, this was the first study that successfully disentangles three different sources of oxygen with good time resolution. Oxygen is produced by homogenous hypochlorite decomposition, heterogeneously by different catalysts present in the electrolyte solution and anodically during the electrolysis i.e. electrochemically. Different electrode materials catalyzed hypochlorite decomposition differently and led to a different volume of oxygen produced. /
QC 2021-04-28

Výzva pro NATO: problém přetrvávajících rozdílů v aliančních vojenských kapacitách / NATO's Challenge: Exploring the Persistence of the Alliance's Military Capabilities Gap

Schwarzenberg, Carly Eileen January 2015 (has links)
This thesis addresses the military capabilities gap between the US and European member states of NATO. It seeks to answer the question, why does the US-European capabilities gap persist despite apparent agreement between Allies on strategic capabilities objectives and cooperative solutions? The paper first establishes the need for a strong, independent European Security and Defense Identity within the Alliance, particularly since NATO's operations in Libya. It then defines and explicates the military capabilities gap within the Alliance, including its scope, history, and attempts to find cooperative solutions. This analysis demonstrates that there is broad agreement both on what the Alliance requires for military capabilities and for how best to obtain them (cooperatively), yet the gap has persisted and grown for two decades. In an attempt to solve this empirical puzzle, the paper employs a two-level games framework to analyze the NATO defense planning process, which links supranational capabilities planning for the Alliance to national-level execution, dependent upon funding from state parliaments. Faced with the general answer that fiscal constraints preclude states from following through on their commitments, the paper delves deeper to determine factors that may influence differences in defense...

Procedurální generování stromů schopností v počítačových hrách za pomocí gramatiky grafu / Procedural Generation Of Skill Trees In Video Games Using Graph Grammer

Anagnoste, Marius-Alexandru January 2021 (has links)
This study investigated the possibility of procedural generation of skill trees which are similar to skill trees in contemporary video games. A set of randomly-selected skill trees from contemporary video games, from differ- ent game genres, was compiled, and an analysis was performed to extract relevant observations from the set. Using the observations, models for skill tree generation, and for skill tree comparison were proposed, and they were followed for the generation and analysis of the results. It was found that the method of Graph Grammars provided satisfying results compared to the set of skill trees from video games. Additionally, the other methods researched, L-Systems and Naive Randomized Graph Generation, while both may still require improvements discussed in the thesis in order to provide more satis- fying results, they may still be used for particular needs by game designers as they are. 1

Aplikace hierarchických grafových gramatik v procedurálním generování světů / Aplikace hierarchických grafových gramatik v procedurálním generování světů

Svoboda, Jakub January 2021 (has links)
Title: Application of hierarchical graph grammars in procedural 3D world gen- eration Author: Jakub Svoboda Abstract: Procedural content generation (PCG) is an often-used technique in video games. It allows us to generate large quantities and permutations of con- tent. A common problem in utilizing PCG in level design is that it is challenging to generate content close to what a human would create in overall quality and structure. One way of solving these problems is using graph grammars to rep- resent relations in the game world. Implementing a working graph generator using graph grammars and applying it to generate worlds is not very well docu- mented. This thesis will try to overcome this problem by implementing such a generator and extending it to use hierarchical graph grammars. The generator will be used to generate a 3D open world. The generator should be suitable for levels in other types of games. Keywords: procedural content generation, game development, hierarchical graphs, graph grammars, procedural level design
