A mental and physical struggle when the pregnancy cannot be completed : A qualitative blog study based on women's experiences of suffering

Sveder, Linda, Söderström, Denise January 2020 (has links)
Background: Of all pregnancies, 2–3% are ectopic and almost always ends in a pregnancy loss because the attachment usually takes place in the fallopian tube. An ectopic pregnancy can create different types of suffering that can lead to long-term psychological consequences and in the worst case result in the death of the mother. It is the nurse's responsibility to support the woman and alleviate her suffering. Purpose: To illustrate women's experience of suffering associated with ectopic pregnancy. Method: A qualitative study has been conducted based on 11 blogs that have been analysed at a manifest level with a qualitative content analysis. Results: The analysis resulted in three categories: Amental struggle, Being ignored and A physical struggle. As well as seven subcategories. Abig part of the struggle was the grief over a lost child. Conclusion: It turned out that anectopic pregnancy involved suffering of life, suffering of care given and suffering of illness. It was not only physically painful but also psychologically stressful and led to agreat grief that affected the women for several years. For a faster recovery from grief, professional and social support was important. It was also of great importance that women's grief was taken seriously by health care professionals to reduce the risk of suffering from care.

Contribution à la formation à l'écrit en milieu professionnel : le cas des métiers de la propreté / Contribution to the training to the writing in occupational environment : the case of the businesses by the cleanlin

Lachaud, Marie-Hélène 16 December 2011 (has links)
This study concerns the linguistic training of employees with a basic level of qualification. The research work shows that the lingual part has an important place in the professional activity of the employees, including those who are the least qualified. Training courses called basic have been established for the past decades to give to the personnel who do not master them well, linguistic skills useful for the exercise of their professional activity. We have analyzed different types of training. Are they adapted to the needs of employees ? Are they an adapted answer to their expectations and their real needs ? The study undertaken aims to understand how these employees use their linguistic skills in the workplace. It is based on the hypothesis that in training for adults, the issue of language at work should be extended to the issue of literacy and more specifically, to the logic of writing. Jobs, such as those of a cleaning agent, where time and space management are crucial elements, are interesting cases. Particular schedules, work duration and presence of users need an effective time and space management. Spontaneous strategies based on experience are implemented by these employees in order to be more efficient in their professional activity and make the work less difficult. Observations in the field led by this research, inspired by ethnology, show that workers use « tactics» effectively in the sense of M. de Certeau (1990). But these methods are ignored skills which are not appreciated, either by employers, or by trainers. Hence, this research contributes to a better understanding of professional environment and allows approaches for linguistic training that should take into consideration their skills. Indeed the results give information about the place of language in professional activity and about what we can call work logic : updating the know-how, tricks and ignored or hidden skills, which, however, are crucial to work organization, especially in time and space management.

About Sex and Relationships in Differently Abled Pupils : A Qualitative Study of Pupils in Special Schools

Elfvelin, Love, Moberg, Frida January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this study was to investigate how teachers in schools for youths with intellectual disabilities view their pupils’ abilities to access sex education. The study is based on individual interviews with five teachers in years 6 - 9. The theoretical framework has been set by Michel Foucault’s theories on normality and power and “the ignored curriculum” as described by Nathalie A. Gougeon. It is also supported by additional theories on normality and sexuality. The results of the study show that, these pupils have a harder time finding information about sex and relationships, because of the stigma surrounding people with intellectual disabilities in relation to sexuality, and because of the lack of information about sex outside the classroom for youths with intellectual disabilities. Youths with no intellectual disabilities learn about sex also outside of classrooms to a large extent, which is more difficult for youths with intellectual disabilities. The role of the teacher as provider of sex education is therefore crucial.

Les victimes devant les juridictions pénales internationales. / Victims before international criminal jurisdictions

Houedjissin, Mededode 22 February 2011 (has links)
The position of victims on international criminal scene has considerably progressed since the first international militaries tribunals were created in 1945. Even if the victims don't properly have the status of « parties » in international criminal trial, their participation in trial is henceforth a guarantee, with substantial rights. The scale of these rights, at different steps of the procedure, clarifies the way the international criminal judge interpreted the proportional dispositions of international positive laws. The role of victims is more, at the first time, to « confirm » international « public action » than exercise themselves this action to establish accused guilty or not. Their role is finally reinforced during the presentation of civil claims, by supplementary way of intervention, and more widely in search of full satisfaction. At that moment, victims become real « civil parties » with full international juridical capacity to claim their right. So, because of their actions, the victims appear in a “double” posture, vindicatory (repression) and repairing (compensation). The targeted and achieved aim was to show today what was the place of the victims in front of the international penal jurisdictions.
