The impact of innovative marketing on the performance of Ghanaian food processing small and medium enterprises (SMEs)

Abrokwah-Larbi, Kwabena 09 1900 (has links)
Abstracts in English and Zulu / The main objective of this study was to investigate the impact of innovative marketing on the performance of Ghanaian food processing SMEs. The research study was carried out in response to the scholarly and managerial interest in the construct of innovative marketing as a novel competitive tool and its effect on performance in food processing SME organisations. This research study examined the effect of the six components of innovative marketing (i.e. marketing mix variables (MV), marketing modification (MM), integrated marketing (IM), customer focus (CF), market focus (MF) and value proposition (VP) on the four components of food processing SME performance i.e. financial performance (FP), customer performance (CP), internal business process performance (IBPP) and learning & growth performance (LGP). The research study was carried out on 225 food processing SMEs on the registered list of the National Board for Small Scale Industry (NBSSI) in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The study was quantitative in nature with the use of questionnaires distributed to 225 owners/managers of food processing SMEs in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Through an extensive literature review, a conceptual framework and empirical result from 225 food processing SMEs in Ghana, the research study employed exploratory factor analysis along with structural equation modelling – path analysis to evaluate the proposed model for understanding the relationships among the constructs. The collected data was analysed through descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis using the Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) version 23 and STATA version 15.1. The reliability of innovative marketing and food processing performance factors were determined using Composite Reliability and Cronbach’s alpha and the validity of the factors of innovative marketing and food processing SMEs were also ascertained using convergent and discriminant validity methods. The research study established that SMEs in the food processing sector in Ghana exhibit high levels of five innovative marketing factors (i.e. market focus, value proposition, customer focus, integrated marketing and marketing mix variables) which impact on all four factors of food processing SME performance (i.e. financial performance, customer performance, internal business process performance and learning and growth performance) whereas marketing modification, a factor of innovative marketing, indicated insignificant association with food processing SME performance. The recommendation of the conducted research study made a clear statement that food processing SMEs in Ghana should maintain a positive attitude towards innovative marketing, and also negate the effect of innovative marketing challenges to achieve high performance. The conclusions that were drawn from the conducted research study indicated that the main research objective had been achieved. Hence, innovative marketing positively influences the performance of food processing SMEs in Ghana. / Inhloso enkulu yalolu cwaningo bekungukuphenya umthelela wokumaketha okusha ekusebenzeni kwama-SME wokucubungula ukudla waseGhana. Cenové prostředí mediálního trhu OOH reklamy v České republice / The pricing environment of the media market of OOH advertising in the Czech Republic

Votruba, Daniel January 2021 (has links)
This thesis analyses the pricing environment of the OOH advertising media market in the Czech Republic. In the theoretical part, it introduces the concept of marketing and marketing communication, but also touches upon advertising as such and its role in society, which is in many cases controversial. Furthermore, this thesis focuses on a specific communication channel, namely outdoor advertising. It presents its history, development and current trends. It describes the various types of formats offered on the Czech market, including innovative and alternative ones, but also presents the current problems and limitations associated with this medium. Even so, advertisers are currently investing significant sums in standard OOH advertising formats and suppliers are trying to collect increasingly accurate data to increase the effectiveness of this communication channel. The supply of outdoor advertising operators in the Czech market is concentrated in a few large players. The specific demand and offer of OOH advertising suppliers is presented in the practical section in parallel with the offer of the media agencies contacted. In this part, it is analysed and evaluated how the outdoor advertising market reacts in terms of price to the advertising demand of advertisers. The author focuses on the main and...

Možnosti sdílení péče o dítě v rámci podpory rodiny / Options in Sharing Childcare within Family Support

Bočanová, Marcela January 2016 (has links)
1 Abstract The diploma thesis deals with three innovative models of childcare. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The object of the work is to inform about innovative child care models and to map the implementation possibilities of one described model. The theoretical part deals with the theme of family and its importance for the society. The disorders of family, reasons for child removals out of family, prevention of family failures and family preservation are farther described in this part. Other chapters are focused on already mentioned three models of care. The first model describes sharing care within providing support of volunteers, the second model inheres in sharing care within the residential care and the last model describes the sharing care within care provided by foster parents. The practical part addresses the research which was undertaken as semi-structured dialogs with social workers of foster parents and with foster parents too. A part of the research is formed by the analyse of reasons for child removals out of family. It was found out within the research that the implementation possibilities of sharing care within care provided by foster parents are low with regards to its demandingness and the general settings of our society.

National innovative capacity: An established concept revisited

Haberstroh, Marcus Max 17 August 2017 (has links)
National innovative capacity, a central driver of countries’ long-term economic growth, has been one of the focal points in innovation research for roughly thirty years. Initially proposed as an index to measure technologic invention over time, this concept has become the widely accepted standard for measuring the performance of (sub) national and sectoral innovation systems toward being an analytic tool attributed to innovation systems theory. Country comparison, knowledge flows, and R&D forecasting are in the center of analysis feeding the concrete practical use of innovation policy optimization. In this regard, a rich body of studies has contributed indispensable knowledge about the determinants of innovative capacity. However, the multi-dimensional interconnections have not been covered in depth. Thus, to gain a holistic understanding of the “DNA” behind national innovative capacity a new “comparative” view of these determinants is necessary. To this end, this dissertation proposes revisiting the focus, unit and parameters of analysis that predominate within current national innovative capacity studies and sets forth three interlinked academic articles that focus on different layers of innovative capacity in countries. Besides furthering academic discourse on the determinants of innovational outcome, this conceptual revision leads to a new approach on national innovation capacity research. Its intention is to make policy makers aware of certain pathways leading to the same outcome. This knowledge will enable them to pursue a dynamic approach of supporting the innovative processes in countries by defining appropriate innovation strategies that consider both the countries’ specific preconditions and the sub-systems perspective.:1. Service Design durch Emotionen: Wertvolle Interaktionen im stationären Einzelhandel

Meyer, Michael, Geiger, Manuel, Robra-Bissantz, Susanne 11 March 2022 (has links)
Indoor air pollution : measurement, health impact and photochemical methods treatment.

Le Bechec, Mickael 20 October 2016 (has links)
The increase of human population, the modern agriculture and industrial development generate air pollution, which is nowadays worrying for health and environment. Since several decades, outdoor air pollution has been regulated giving rise a global decrease of pollution in the most important European cities. However indoor air pollution was neglected for a long time. Indeed with development of composite materials for building and furnishing, the number of air pollutants strongly increased together with their concentrations. Several studies have thus demonstrated that numerous volatile organic compounds (VOC) were detected indoor at much higher concentration than outdoor. Moreover, due to the modification of sedentary and urban lifestyles, the time spent in confined spaces like housing, working places and public transportation increases. It is less and less satisfactory to simply renew indoor air with outdoor air in most of urban agglomerations. Accordingly, new processes for air treatment are developed in order to decrease indoor air pollutant concentrations while limiting energetic consumption. Photocatalysis is an advanced oxidation process potentially interesting for VOC removal. After a short reminder on the societal context of atmospheric pollution, measurement and treatment methods are presented in chapters I and II. The following chapter gathers the results obtained on the development of new photocatalytic materials and on the measure of their efficiency. The first part of this chapter is devoted to an overview of photocatalytic reactors for gas solid reactions and summarizes the numerous problems arising from the comparison of different materials under various conditions, which are not always similar. In the second part, a composite material made of titanium dioxide encapsulated in a polymer film is characterized and used for the oxidation of a volatile compound used for agricultural fumigation, dimethyl disulfide. The spectroscopic analysis led to the optimization of the material as a function of its thickness and its titanium dioxide loading. A second innovative photocatalytic material made of pure TiO2 fibers is characterized by its mineralization ability of representative indoor air VOC (acetone, heptane, and toluene). The performance of this material is compared to that of a commercial one, Quartzel ® made of TiO2 deposited on quartz fibers, under strictly identical conditions. The two last parts of this chapter are at the interface between photochemistry and biology. In a first strep, bacterial inactivation by a smart textile where titanium dioxide particles coupled with a photosensitizer is studded under visible light. In the last part, the impact of indoor air pollution on skin cells is presented. A dedicated device allowing keratinocytes culture cells and skin biopsies exposures to controlled VOC concentrations is developed. It is thus possible to evidence and to determine the origin of the cellular response to this environmental stress. At last, new research projects for a near future are then presented. They concern the determination of reactive oxygen species involved in photochemical reactions and the development of new hybrid polymers encapsulating photosensitizing molecules. Prospective ideas at the interface of photochemistry and biology conclude this memory.

Toward a Better Understanding of the Roles of Social Exchanges and Psychological Safety on Followers' Change-Oriented Behaviors

Halliday, Cynthia Saldanha 18 March 2019 (has links)
Organizational change and innovation are critical for business survival and more likely to occur when employees engage in change-oriented behaviors. Previous studies have examined the direct effects of workplace social exchanges on employees’ change-oriented behaviors; however, less attention has been given to the combined effects of these exchanges and the mechanisms by which these relationships occur. In this study, I look at the combined effects of leader-member exchange, trust in team members, and perceived organizational support on voice, innovative, and learning behaviors via psychological safety. In addition, based on the understanding that psychological safety is not always present in the work environment, I look at the conditions under which these workplace social exchanges lead to the aforementioned behaviors even when psychological safety is low or absent. Therefore, the purpose of this dissertation is three-fold: (1) to explore the combined effects of leader-member exchange, trust in team members, and perceived organizational support in improving followers’ psychological safety within the organization, (2) to investigate the mediating role of psychological safety on the relationships between workplace social exchanges and followers’ change-oriented behaviors, and (3) to expand on previous findings and examine the conditions under which these social exchanges and psychological safety lead to followers’ change-oriented behaviors. Specifically, I propose and test a theoretical model derived from social exchange theory to examine conditional indirect effects of leader-member exchange, trust in team members, and perceived organizational support on voice, innovative, and learning behaviors through psychological safety within the organization, and to examine the role of proactive personality, political skill, perceived team social integration, perceived support for innovation and perceived organizational justice as second stage moderating variables that may compensate for low psychological safety within the organization. My theoretical model was tested using lagged data collected from leader-follower dyads representing 174 followers and 85 leaders from four organizations located in the United States. To test this theoretical model, I used a quantitative non-experimental research design, a survey method, and multilevel analytical procedures.

Lavoie, Nicolas 12 1900 (has links)
Ecological and digital transitions, along with concerns over social inequalities, signal the advent of complex new challenges for contemporary cities. These changes raise the issue of the dynamic capability of urban planners: more specifically, their ability to review their tools and planning routines in urban projects in order to explore the potential of new paradigms of collective action and foster innovative transition paths for cities. European companies, especially in public transportation, have responded to this challenge, with convincing results, by developing tools based on innovative design theories. One of these methodological tools, the Definition-Knowledge-Concept-Proposition (DKCP) process, was used to generate a new range of planning options for three urban districts in Montreal, Canada. The traditional planner’s routine generally focuses on a single activity in the process, the formulation of propositions (Phase P), by slightly adapting former projects to the local context and rules. However, the future urban planners’ routine should include new capabilities for managing upstream stages of projects in the form of a succession of DKCP phases. The need to tackle the complex challenges of the 21st century city opens the way to a new professional identity: the “innovative urban planner”.
