A Intercompreensão no curso de Letras: formando sujeitos plurilíngues a partir da leitura de textos acadêmicos em línguas românicas / Intercomprehension in the Degree in Languages: developing plurilingual learners by reading academic texts in romance languages

Paulo, Livia Miranda de 06 November 2018 (has links)
The global and interconnected context in which we live makes the contact of people with different languages and cultures more common, which has introduced the discussion of Plurilingualism in Language Didactics. In this sense, Intercomprehension (IC) is defined as a pluralistic didactic approach where the learner\'s linguistic and communicative experiences are transferred during the construction of new knowledges in related languages (DEGACHE; GARBARINO, 2017; MEISSNER et al., 2004). In the academic context, the IC contributes to the students\' need to read academic texts in other languages, as this approach improves written comprehension from the plurilingual view. For students from Degree in Languages, More than achieving this goal of reading, the reflections proposed by the IC approach are fundamental to their training as future language and culture professionals, allowing them to diversify their linguistic and didactic repertoires (ANDRADE; PINHO, 2010; ARAÚJO e SÁ, 2015). From this angle, the thesis aims are: (i) to understand and describe the learner\'s training process towards the development of plurilingual reading; (ii) to characterize the didactical work with academic texts from the IC\'s perspective; (iii) to analyze the changes caused by this method on learners. The research is based on studies in foreign languages teaching and learning by IC, an approach that favors comprehension through the mobilization of (meta)cognitive and (meta)linguistic strategies (CADDÉO ; JAMET, 2013 ; DE CARLO et al., 2015). The data was collected during the course \"Intercomprehension reading practices: academic texts of Language studies\", in the University of Sao Paulo. The participants, Language undergraduate students, practiced receptive IC with textual genres common in the academic area: abstracts, introduction of scientific articles and chapters of a theoretical book. By a qualitative and longitudinal analysis with an emic orientation, it was possible to observe the multidimensional transformations produced on learners. Their activities and speeches confirmed that, more than developing written comprehension of academic texts in the target languages, the IC has brought forth new attitudes and representations related to the training process of a plurilingual person. From these results we have two kinds of contributions: in relation to the need of reading in other languages, the research has shown the relevance of intercomprehensive work with academic texts; furthermore, regarding the target audience of this research, we noted the IC\'s potentialities range for the integral training of the Language undergraduate students, which confirms the legitimacy of the efforts towards its diffusion and effective curricular insertion.

Interactions plurilingues entre locuteurs romanophones : de l'analyse à une réflexion didactique sur l’intercompréhension en langues romanes / Plurilingual interactions between Romance speakers : analyses and reflections on teaching Romance intercomprehension

Piccoli, Vanessa 04 July 2017 (has links)
This thesis focuses on oral communication between speakers of different Romance languages in a plurilingual professional context. By relying on the methodology and theoretical principles of conversation analysis, I present the analysis of an audio-visual corpus, which I collected in three international trade fairs, in France and Italy. The main goal of this research is to study a dimension which remains relatively unexplored so far in the field of Romance intercomprehension: plurilingual oral interactions in situation of spontaneous communication. The thesis opens with a theoretical framework related to intercomprehension teaching and conversation analysis, and a data presentation, and then unfolds through three analytic chapters. In the first one, I describe the characteristics of interactions in trade fairs – a work context that had not yet been studied in conversation analysis – by relying on single cases from the three corpora. Then, I present a systematic analysis of negotiation and renegotiation explicit and implicit practices found in the data, and an examination of participants’ speech about their linguistic (in)competences. Finally, I focus on some interactional micro phenomena that are recurrent in Romance speakers’ communication: ad hoc use of mother tongue for the formulation of proper names and numbers, and for word searches; a type of other-repetition that I propose to call “plurilingual repetition”; metalinguistic sequences that show the participants’ interest towards the language of their interlocutor. Finally, by relying on these analyses, I develop a teaching-oriented reflexion, based on the notion of interactional competence, which aims to contribute to the progress of the research on Romance intercomprehension.

We seek to discover whether those interacting use some kind of pidgin, or some code as a lingua franca. We also seek to identify the manner in which the features of communicative competence are presented by analyzing the various competences that composes it - linguistic, sociolinguistic, pragmatic and psycholinguistic. The analysis of speech acts, the maxims and conversational implicatures given in the corpus were important to verify whether those interacting were successful in their attempt at multilingual intercomprehension.

Enseignement apprentissage en intercompréhension intégrée au Cycle 3 : enjeux, fonctionnement et compétences / Language teaching and learning via integrated intercomprehension in Cycle 3 (last 2 grades of French Primary education) : stakes, methods and skills

Gacia, Emilie 16 December 2016 (has links)
For a long time, primary education has overlooked the students' languages and cultures of origin. An exploration of the conclusions of research in the field of language didactics, and more specifically pluralistic approaches establishes that the didactisation of language interaction/language contact helps in building a metalinguistic reflection that can facilitate fresh learning in a foreign language or in the language in which the child is being educated. At last, a study of the evolution ofFrench school curricula can show us the way for opening schools to multilingualism, in conformity with European Union directives. Intercomprehension between related languages is shown to be a modality of learning that facilitates the comprehension and the way different languages work, especially if the learning process organizes the integration of these languages. We will describe the methodology and the stakes of integrated intercomprehension in romance languages. An experiment has been conducted with two classes of CM1-CM2/last grades of Middle School during science classes, using integrated intercomprehension with the help of the schoolbook Euromania, as well as, in one of the classes, the intercultural-approach based Comparons nos langues. The goal was to observe to which direction this experiment contributed to the evolution of the students' linguistic representations, to the development of linguistic competence and to the invention of strategies of understanding. We will present the benefits of integrated intercomprehension and intercultural approaches to language learning and to learning in other subjects, to multilingualism, and to the well-being of learners, conducive to more successfullearning.

L'intercompréhension entre langues distantes. Quelles pratiques ? Quelle formation ? What practicies, what training? The case of a bilingual university of applied sciences in Switzerland

Ayer, Dorothée 08 March 2017 (has links)
This doctoral research is interested in the practice of intercomprehension in an officially bilingual context: a department of a university of applied sciences in Switzerland. The languages used in exchanges between members of the school (lecturers, students, employees) are German and French, according to the ‘each speaks their own language’ principle, based on the practices of the Swiss federal administration. Languages in presence are distant, in contrast with the languages from the same family. This communication mode requires from the participants receptive skills in the other language as well as general communicative competence to interact in a bilingual context. The objective of this study is to understand how the participants in a bilingual meeting choose the language(s) in which to communicate. The question is whether the ‘each speaks their own language’ principle is respected or if one language dominates the meetings. In this case, various parameters influence the choice of the language. Several meetings at this department were recorded in order to observe the distribution of languages used in a professional communication context. This corpus of meetings was supplemented by semi-structured interviews with members of the department. The institution offers degree programmes in German and in French and in that way encourages bilingualism in the students. Furthermore, bilingual communication is also the objective in a bilingual language module, uniting French- and German-speaking students, in which, contrary to the practice of intercomprehension, learners expresses themselves in the target language. Such a module questions the pedagogic approach adopted by lecturers and the communication strategies developed by students. The impact of this module, observed over three years, was studied using module documents, audio-visual recordings of student performance and reflexive texts written by the students. To ensure the success of communication in this bilingual context, the interlocutors, both native and non-native speakers, adapt their speech and use strategies, while mining their multilingual repertoire, in professional or educational contexts.

La génération des connaissances et la conception des artefacts visuels : le cas de l'aménagement des espaces de travail dans les entreprises / Knowledge generation and visuel's artifact conception : case of workspace planning within the enterprises

Chouki, Mourad 26 November 2012 (has links)
The development of this work is currently carried out in a project mode, since working in the network requires deep modifications in a way of conceiving the workspaces as well as the offices. The enterprises that conceive these spaces often associate both the designers and the architects. The purpose of this present thesis is to answer the flowing question: how are the recent knowledges generated in the conception activities which appear in the field of work space planning? The first chapter focuses on the works related to the conception activities (works of Lebahar, Hatchuel and Visser...etc...). The second deals with the different theories relating to the generation of knowledge (works of Nonaka, Tsoukas and Engeström... etc...).To answer our research question, we have installed a device which requires a long_term intervention inside the enterprises meant for study (ethnomethodological approach). There are two Parisian enterprises that specialize in work space planning: (GENIE DES LIEUX and workspace CBRE).During the work, we have shown some difficulty intercomprehension that emerged in the conception activities. We have concluded, as a result, that these obstacles were due to relational tacit knowledges (RTK) according to Harry Collins theory. However these difficulties can be made explicit by the conception of intermediate objects. We have also noticed that ho when conceiving the artifacts into two and three dimensions, this allows the generation of new and useful knowledges in a project of work space planning.

Plurilinguismo em ambientes virtuais de aprendizagem = potencialidades, entraves, desdobramentos, perspectivas / Multilingualism in virtual environments learning : potential, barriers, developments, prospects

Silva, Regina Célia da, 1969- 02 August 2012 (has links)

This thesis presents and discusses the results of a qualitative research study whose aim was to analyse some Intercomprehension and Foreing Language Teaching practices conducted in Virtual Learning Environments (VLE) in order to reflect upon some of the implications of the use of such environments in a globalized context. Firstly, I have tried to critically evaluate the work conducted in a Romance Languages intercomprehension practice internet platform, the Galanet, and, secondly, to reflect upon the impact of such multilingual experience in a specific VLE in the ways I started using another platform - the Teleduc - in the teaching of Italian to Brazilian students at the Centro de Ensino de Línguas (CEL) at UNICAMP. This thesis also intends, therefore, to register my foreign language teacher's trajectory in its two distinct phases: before and after the employment of virtual language teaching tools and resources which has enabled me to come across new pedagogical possibilities and to rethink and reorganize my professional. It is hoped that this work will contribute to shed light on what might happen to foreign language teachers' practices once they enter the virtual world. It is also expected that the focus on the implications of the use of VLE in the teaching of foreign languages and on some of the causes for teachers reluctance in adopting them, as well as on ongoing linguistic policies in Europe and in Latin America will provide elements which, if articulated, will enhance our understanding of contemporary Foreign Language Teaching characteristics. The primary data that make up the corpus analyzed here were generated during (i) Galanet sessions that occurred between February 2008 and December 2011, (ii) two training sessions for teachers on the platform Galapro, one held in November 2009 and another in November 2011, and (iii) classroom observations in Italian I and Italian III courses, given between 2008 and 2010. Secondary data that supports the analysis of primary data were generated in different teachers meetings, workshop and training courses organized by the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), the Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR) and theAgência Universitária para a Francofonia (AUF) / Doutorado / Multiculturalismo, Plurilinguismo e Educação Bilingue / Doutor em Linguística Aplicada

No. of bitstreams: 1 RudsonEGS_TESE.pdf: 3913839 bytes, checksum: 4e46f62ffc9f1592a99a5b010993ac51 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2013-11-04 / This exploratory study aims to present some readings as Doy? (2003), Carrasco Perea (2003), Melo Ara?jo e S? (2004), Chavagne (2009) and Alas-Martins (2010; 2011) which helped to confirm some ways for showing that a plurilingual environment can enable a trend in improving the understanding of written texts in the mother tongue, and can collaborate on a better perception of the world around a person with all their different nuances. The study describes the methodology and some results of our doctoral research that resulted in the insertion of the experimental discipline called Intercomprehension of Romanic Languages (ILR) in the curriculum in the city of Natal / RN / Brazil, and it was justified because of high functional illiteracy degree among young people up to 15 years old according to the educational data from IBGE research on 2010. The results were verified through an experimental action-research which was characterized by Lewin (1946); Nunan (1992); Thiollent (1994) and Trip (2005) in two schools: Professoara Terezinha Paulino de Lima (municipal school) and Professora Ana Julia de Carvalho Mousinho (State of Rio Grande do Norte), with 95 students from the final years of primary education. The corpus of this research was subjected to a series of condensed techniques like the nonparametric test from Kruskal and Wallis (1952) and the parametric test ANOVA as an effort to provide statistical significance to the analysis of the results indicated in the book of ILR activities. The research presented some skill views about reading comprehension of written texts according to perspective of Ringbow (1987), Giacobbe (1990), Alarc?o (1991; 2009a and 2009b), Corder (1992), Castellotti (2001) and Degache (2003), and the possibilities of transfer these skills for learning Portuguese as pointed out by Meissner, Klein and Stegmann (2004); it indicates a positive trend towards the understanding of LM according to analyzing the scores of written tests and texts by participants in solving tasks / Neste estudo explorat?rio, apresentamos algumas leituras como em Doy?
