Juan Bosch a jeho kritika Trujillovy diktatury / Juan Bosch and his critique of the Trujillo dictatorship

Kotuľáková, Lívia January 2019 (has links)
This work is an analysis of criticism of the dictatorial regime of Rafael Trujillo in articles, letters, speeches and lectures produced by Juan Bosch during the period of dictatorship, that is in the period 1930-1961. Its aim is to show which manifestations of the regime were criticized by Bosch and for what reason or what purpose the author observed with his criticism. In the theoretical part of this work, attention is paid to the historical issues of dominican politics and economics and the elements that influenced the dictatorship as well as the analysis of Rafael Trujillo's dictatorship in Dominican Republic and the basic pillars of its functioning in political, economic, social and ideological sphere (the functioning of the regime, the monopolization of economic life, the introduction of social reforms, anti-Communist and anti-Haitian attitudes) as well as various forms of oppression and censorship; these aspects were criticized by Bosch. In the analysis of texts by Juan Bosch, some space is also dedicated to the author's interpretation of the dictatorship contained in the larger texts. Many analyzed articles from that period relate to the resistance activity of the dominican exile, so space is also devoted to the description of its political and propagandistic activities in exile associated...

A Mexican Postmodernist Vision Grounded on Structuralism: The Cases of Juan Trigos' Cuarteto Da Do (1988) and Victor Rasgado's Rayo Nocturnal (1989)

Madrid-González, Alejandro L. (Alejandro Luis) 05 1900 (has links)
This thesis contributes analyses of two works by Mexican composers: Rayo nocturnal (1989) by Victor Rasgado (b. 1959), and the Cuarteto da do (1988) by Juan Trigos (b. 1965). Although composed according to structuralist principles, a postmodern interpretation is offered. The analytical method applied is based on Allen Forte's set theory, including rhythmic and timbral dimensions that are integral to the conceptions of these works. A survey of modernism and postmodernism in twentieth-century Mexico serves to place these works in their cultural context.

Komparace Miloševičova Srbska a Tudjmanova Chorvatska v letech 1991-1997 z pohledu teorie autoritativních režimů / Comparison of Milošević's Serbia and Tudjman's Croatia in the Perspective of the Theory of Authoritarian Regimes

Mikovčík, Michal January 2020 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the comparison of the political regimes of Slobodan Milosevic in Serbia and Franjo Tudjman in Croatia in the years 1991 - 1997 from the point of view of the theory of authoritarian regimes. The subject of the research was to determine the similarities and differences that the regimes showed in a given period. In the beginning of the work, the author approaches the theoretical core of the concepts of authoritarian regimes by Juan J. Linz and the competitive authoritarianism of Steven Levitsky and Lucan A. Way. The analytical part of the work consists of a synchronous dual-case study of Serbia and Croatia focused on the main aspects of authoritarian regimes and their subsequent comparison. The output of the thesis consists in a critical analysis of the features of both examined regimes at the level of limited political pluralism, the relationship between mentality and ideology and depoliticization versus mobilization and application of theories of authoritarian regimes to Serbia and Croatia in a given period. An important finding was that although the countries showed many similar features, the main differences were in the character of Slobodan Milosevic and Franjo Tudjman. The work concludes that Serbia and Croatia can be included in hybrid semi-competitive...

Grettel, Ana January 2023 (has links)
The purpose of this work is to analyze the subject of loneliness in the novel Pedro Páramo by Juan Rulfo, through different symbols present in the text. The method used in this study is the hermeneutic method. The analysis about the theme of loneliness is divided into three parts: the first based on some relevant symbols, the second on some central characters and the third on the sociohistorical criticism of the time. The result of this analysis is that we have been able to demonstrate the theme of loneliness in Pedro Páramo's novel.

Villafranca Pérez, Luis Alberto 14 December 2011 (has links)

Optimal Sensor Placement for Structural Health Monitoring

Movva, Gopichand 12 1900 (has links)
In large-scale civil structures, a limited number of sensors are placed to monitor the health of civil structures to reduce maintenance, communication and energy costs. In this thesis, the problem of optimal sensor location placement to infer the health of civil structures is explored. First, a comparative study of approaches from the fields of control engineering and civil engineering is conducted . The widely used civil engineering approaches such as effective independence (EI) and modal assurance criterion (MAC) have limitations because of the negligence of modes and damping parameters. On the other hand, control engineering approaches consider the entire system dynamics using impulse response-type sensor measurement data. Such inference can be formulated as an estimation problem, with the dynamics formulated as a second-order differential equation. The comparative study suggests that damping dynamics play significant impact to the selection of best sensor location---the civil engineering approaches that neglect the damping dynamics lead to very different sensor locations from those of the control engineering approaches. In the second part of the thesis, an initial attempt to directly connect the topological graph of the structure (that defines the damping and stiffness matrices) and the second-order dynamics is conducted.

Villa Quispe, Flor María 27 February 2020 (has links)
This thesis describes the factors that contribute to capabilities building in disasters risk management for school principals and teachers from the Lurigancho-Chosica district, under the multisectoral program for Disasters Vulnerability Reduction and Emergency Assistance (PREVAED - Programa de Reducción de la Vulnerabilidad y Atención de Emergencias por Desastres), known in the education sector as: PREVAED Escuela Segura. The general objective of the research is to find out if the implementation of the PREVAED Escuela Segura program has contributed to strengthen the capacities of the principals and teachers in disaster risk management and prevention culture, to propose improvement measures that strengthen the program implementation. This is a qualitative investigation for which the following activities were conducted: semistructure interviews, focus groups, direct observation, documentary reviews, analysis of the participatory development of risk management instruments process as essential tools for schools, indicators of participation and commitment of the disaster risk management committees of the schools selected for this research. Among the relevant findings for Social Management, it is worth highlighting that the capacity building workshops, the technical assistance sessions and pedagogical support have made it possible to sensitize the main actors of the educational community to a large extent and have laid the foundations for building a culture for disaster risk prevention. Among the evidences found we can point out that schools have managed to incorporate risk management in their planning processes and management tools such as risk management plans for each school, as well as contingency plans for high intensity earthquakes and mudslides. The relevance of this research for Social Management lies in, firstly: recognizing the importance of capacity building to achieve the construction of a culture of disaster risk prevention in the educational community. Secondly, to show that there are limitations in the schools for the implementation of PREVAED Escuela Segura. / Tesis
