Důvody nástupu klienta do léčby v terapeutické komunitě WHITE LIGHT I. / Why Do Clients Enter the Treatment in Therapeutic Community WHITE LIGHT I

Solčány, Jakub January 2017 (has links)
The question of what leads clients to onset of the WHITE LIGHT I therapeutic community was the main reason for this research. It may seem that the main motive is the drug addiction of clients, but I rather wonder what the last drop is, that they come to make a decision to do something about themselves. In my experience, it is the consequences of drug use rather than addiction itself. I wanted to examine those reasons. The aim of the research is to find out and explain the reasons for clients entering the Therapeutic community WHITE LIGHT I. The thesis is based on qualitative research. The methods used to obtain data are clients' biographies, questions on admission, records of the therapeutic groups and semistructured interview. I conducted the research on eight WHITE LIGHT I community clients who agreed to participate in the research. For data processing, I used the thematic analysis as a method, which is the most appropriate for a given need. The research revealed eight reasons for getting treatment. It is a loss of housing, a desire for a normal life without drugs, loss of employment, problems with the law, family pressure, health problems, client in the position of victim (crime, violence, etc.) and loss of life expectancy. Findings from my research corresponded to the reasons found by other...

Makt, kontroll och konflikter!

Alievski, Nedzmi January 2018 (has links)
Examensarbete i socialt arbete 15 högskolepoäng. / Author/Alievski, N. "Power, control and conflict!" A qualitative study of how social secretary experience a meeting with a client when conflict arises. Degree Project in Social Work 15 credits. Malmö University: Faculty of Health and Society, Department of Social Work, Maj 2018.The essay is a qualitative study that mainly deals with social workers' experiences in meeting clients when conflicts arise with financial assistance in social services. The focus of the study is on how social secretaries experience and handle these conflicts with clients. What approaches are being taken to overcome these conflict situations and how do social secretaries feel that these conflicts affect their way of working? For the study, five social secretaries were interviewed who work with financial assistance in social services. The meeting between a social secretary and a client has a dynamic character in which the social secretary has power and the client has no power. The power is invisible as long as the parties are in agreement. However, power becomes relevant when the parties disagree with things. The most important findings made in the paper are that rules and laws may in part be the cause of conflicts, such as the national norm. Another reason for conflicts is that the social secretaries are stressed, have lack of time or have too many clients that they cannot handle clients, which leads to conflicts because the social secretaries are unable to perform their duties properly. A third cause of conflicts is when clients deviate from the planning and the social secretary requests medical certificates, which the clients cannot provide.

I am more than my profession! : the meaning of ethnicity in the meeting between social worker and client

Hamada, Noor, Abdulrahman, Helin January 2021 (has links)
Sweden is considered one of the EU countries with the highest proportion of individuals witha foreign background. Sweden is therefore a highly culturally heterogenous country withdifferent ethnicities and religions. Certain terms, such as “immigrants”, are for this reason, often vague and negatively charged identities for individuals. The aim of this study was toexamine how social workers with a foreign background experience being treated by clientswith different backgrounds. The aim has been broken down into three questions: Does thetreatment differ from the client depending on his/her background? Does the social workerfeel that the treatment changes depending on his/her background? In what way do socialworkers believe that their way of looking at themselves is influenced by the client'streatment? A qualitative method, with semi-structured interviews with eight participants, was used. Data was analyzed using a thematic analysis and the selected themes werebackground, power, age and to tolerate and understand. Data were discussed from anintersectional perspective and with the help of previous research. The results show thatethnicity in many of the cases did not have a negative impact on how social workers weretreated. Something that affected the treatment to a greater extent was the social workers’ age, experience and positions of power.
