Managing outsource agreements between client organisations and suppliers / Booyse J.J.

Booyse, Johannes Jacobus January 2011 (has links)
The outsourcing of non–core Information and Communication Technology services in the ICT industry has been successfully conducted for many years based on various models and frameworks. Client organisations embark on this for many reasons including cost savings, access to specialised skills and access to global resources to name but a few. This study identified and evaluated the management of outsource agreements between client organisations and suppliers with specific focus on creating an understanding of those factors that has a direct impact on the success of outsource agreements. The primary objective of the research study was to provide a comprehensive management guideline for client organisations embarking on outsource initiatives or planning to renew existing agreements. The secondary objective was to assist service providers with guidance on pitfalls and issues experienced in the management of such agreements and to highlight the lessons learned from the industry at large. The research was conducted by means of a literature study and empirical study. The literature study included background information on outsourcing, outsourcing theories as well as outsource management frameworks. Furthermore, it addressed lessons learned and issues and pitfalls to avoid by service providers. The literature review formed the basis for creating an understanding of those factors that has a direct impact on the success of outsource agreements. Based on the evaluation of the empirical study, it was concluded that client organisations that are planning to embark on the outsourcing or renewal of services need to follow a management framework with a full lifecycle in order to ensure success. The top issues that suppliers need to address are to ensure that a climate of trust exists between them and the client; they need to be as transparent as possible and ensure that they carry extensive business knowledge of the client being serviced. / Thesis (M.B.A.)--North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2012.

Santos, Airton Ricardo Tomazzoni dos January 2009 (has links)
This work aims to analyze and show the dance lessons that the media has been setting and its strategies of body control in post-modernity. From the perspective of lessons it was possible to picture the idea of media as a pedagogical device to dance itself and to enlarge the investigation to its implications not only of the technological dimension that the media has been outlining to dance, but also its role on the formation of dancing subjects. The perspective of Cultural Studies in the poststructuralist path and its follow-ups in Education were methodological and theoretical options to investigate the connections between dance, media and education. Based on this referent an advance towards the articulation of the concept of mediatization and how this process allows the operation of strategies of subjectification and control was pursued. The contributions of Michel Foucault and Gilles Deleuze were vital to such understanding, particularly the concept of biopower and the possibility of thinking it from the changes that confront the society of control and its outspread in post-modernity. In order to proceed such analysis a plural corpus was assumed and this was made through the overlapping of discourses and practices present in movies, video clips, blogs, sites, magazines, newspapers, electronic toys and television programs among others, which compose the heterogeneous way one is questioned by the mediatized dance in the contemporary culture. It was possible to set ten lessons that are recurrently delineated in media, which operate on the constitution of the dancing subjects, on life management policies. They present administration tactics for subjects in post-modernity, by promoting not only the management of singularities, but also the maximization of new ways of being and living in the contemporary world.

You get some very archaic ideas of what teaching is': primary school teachers' perceptions of the barriers to physically active lessons

Quarmby, T., Daly-Smith, Andrew, Kime, N. 24 September 2020 (has links)
Yes / Physically active lessons present a key paradigm shift in educational practice. However, little is known about the barriers to implementing physically active lessons. To address this, 31 practising primary teachers (23 = female) from 9 primary schools across West Yorkshire, England, were engaged in focus group interviews. Drawing on the socio-ecological model, findings revealed that barriers influencing the implementation of physically active lessons are multifaceted. Teacher’s confidence and competence, concerns over classroom space, preparation time and resources, coupled with the wider school culture that is influenced by governors and parents, reinforce a didactic approach and act as barriers to physically active lessons.

Den lärande organisationen och Försvarsmakten : En studie rörande teoretisk anknytning / The learning organization and the Swedish armed forces : A study regarding theoretical connection

Sjöström, Marcus January 2010 (has links)

/
The study aims to analyse the Swedish Armed Forces process for lessons learned, as it was in Kosovobetween 2007 and present date and examine whether this process is based on organizational theory or not. These were the initial values for the interviews that followed. In answers from the interviews, two organizational models can be found within the given time span, one beginning in 2007 and the later one is as of now being implemented. These models have shown a varying degree of connection to the model developed by FOI in 1998. The model itself is based on the organizational theories of Sarv and Garvin and its ideas can therefore be seen as translucent. The theoretical material gives us four starting points for analysis, dialogue, goal orientation, flexibility and dynamics and finally participation. Under the headings dialogue and goal orientation there are few connecting factors to the FOI model, under the headings flexibility and dynamics and participation on the other hand there are clearly formed thoughts surrounding these issues but the writer found shortcomings in the implementations of these. In order to further merge the model and these bulletpoints the author believes that clearer directives, guidance and explanations are needed. The author also highlights the need for further research within this field to show the outcome of the implementation of the new organizational model.
