La théologie du salut selon le cycle hebdomadaire syro-antiochien : Étude historique et théologique / The theology of salvation according to the Syro-Antiochian weekly cycle : An historical and theological study.Habil, Menzer 11 January 2014 (has links)
The Syro-Antiochian weekly cycle is an ordinary, simple and non-eucharistic liturgical cycle. The prayer book which we use during the ordinary days, is called Shehimo in Syriac, which means “simple” or “trivial”. The theological value of the services of the Shehimo lies in their actualizing function which transforms the salvational events of the past into a reality that is constantly lived by the faithful through their memory. The study of the book, of its liturgical structure, its content and its sources, reveals the great richness of the weekly cycle which was able to assimilate many biblical, apocryphal, patristic and historical texts in order to present them to the faithful in a simple manner so as to accompany them in their weekly journey from the first to the eighth day of the week. On the other hand, the economy of salvation that was realized by the Word of God constitutes the solid base on which the texts of the Shehimo are founded. When God created man He was motivated by His love; when man fell in sin, God has saved him with the same inconceivable divine love. The incarnation of the Son, His life, His teachings, His miracles, His crucifixion, His death and His resurrection always aimed at the salvation of man. In a poetic, imaginative and melodic way, the Christian believer remembers all this salvational and divine work that Christ has accomplished for his sake, and thus the Christian believer affirms his attachment to this work. He chants the glory of his Savior and expresses passionately his desire to be worthy of eternally chanting to Him His glory in His heavenly kingdom.

This thesis is an exhaustive inventory of Casablanca synagogues (based on, closed or missing) and ritual objects they contain. The etablishment of these places of worship provide also information on the jewish community of this city as well as the mobility of its population between 1911 and 2013. Casablanca, open-air museum, was influenced by artistic currents imported by colonization, such as the bauhaus, Art nouveau style, Art Déco, gothics elements ... mixed with local influence and architecture imported from the other cities of Morocco, as well as colonial architecture. Those architectural movements will penetrate private houses including jewish families of Casablanca to finally get into the synagogues and influence their architecture, furniture and liturgical objects.

A Study of Early Sixteenth-Century English Music Fragments from the DIAMM DatabaseHamilton, Elizabeth P.K. January 2011 (has links)
While the study of complete sources is very valuable, and has contributed greatly to what is understood of music history, the perspective they contribute is limited because they cannot reveal information about how music and music sources were most often used. The study of functional sources, more probably created for use, allows for more insight into how music was performed and understood, and how such sources were created, used and valued.
This study examines twelve fragmentary early sixteenth-century English sources from the Digital Image Archive of Medieval Music (DIAMM) database, constituting a sample of functional music sources in this period. The study of this sampling reveals information about how functional manuscripts were created, used and valued in England during this time period. Some of the fragments contain works with concordances. These concordances are compared using variant comparison, where differences in the versions of the work are considered and weighed. The comparative study of concordances provides insight into the transmission of the versions, scribal and performance culture, as well as into music culture in general. Overall, the study of this sampling of early sixteenth-century functional English sources provides a clearer understanding of the use of accidentals, scribes and scribal culture, performers, performance practice and music culture in England at this time, contributing to the understanding of music history.

volledig uitgewerk is, is hoofstuk 1 bloot 'n inleidende
In
vreemde teologiese aksente uitgewys. So bv. is daar 'n

krities-waarderende opmerkings saamgevat. / Research into the theological content of the Evangelical
Hymns was initiated after it was established that such a
study had not been attempted in South Africa in Reformed
circles. Since the history and grounding of the church hymn
have already been discussed in full by other researchers,
chapter 1 merely offers an introductory review which
provides some background to the study. In chapter 2 a
categorisation of the Hymns was done in extenso and chapter
3, in turn, deals with the contents of each specific
category. The aim is to determine which subjects are
prevalent in Hymns and which ones are not addressed at all.
On the basis of this categorisation, five subjects were
finally defined which revealed obvious biblical-theological
lacunae, if not deviations, all of which need to be
addressed in the future. The subjects are: the ways of
thinking about God, the creation, sin, baptism and hopes for
the future. In chapter 4 these subjects were examined in
detail. It was proved, inter alia, that the contents of the
Hymns clearly reflect the traditional church doctrine and
consequently fail to a large extent to address modern man
(especially the young people of our time). The conclusion
reached by the researcher is that Hymns addressing the
contemporary problematic nature of faith have become a sine
qua non. Furthermore, research on the contents of the Hymns
also revealed foreign theological accents such as clear
influences of the Greek Platonistic dualism where the
Jenseitige is compared to the Diesseitige. This became
particularly evident in the discussion on the creation.
Eodem modo traces of the Pietistic indiviudalism were
detected in the Hymns, where the vertical experience of God
(conversion, sanctification) completely overshadows the
horizontal experience of religion (social responsibility,
mission work, nature conservation)! Chapter 5 comprises
these recommendations in the form of remarks of a criticalappreciation
nature.

[pt] O DIA DO SENHOR: TEOLOGIA E MÍSTICA / [en] THE DAY OF THE LORD: THEOLOGY AND MYSTIQUE01 October 2018 (has links)
[en] The Sunday s theology grow away of Christ s resurrection. From here, this event understood that Day would be remembered as pascal memorial from the new and eternal alliance. Sunday constitute as much as new time of Christian Cult, leaving the Jewish Saturday, the seventh Day, tobe the first Saint Day. Sunday also assumes a scatologic called for the eighth day, and being the Sunday that hasn t final. The priests from the church left a great testimony, about this Day that begins here in order to have a eternity without a final. This dissertation proposes to complete a way about the Sunday theology. There is a vision since the Vaticano Concilio II, Sundays have being celebrated wiht a proposal that plain has an active participation. The Sacrosanctum Concilium had a great revelation, touch the liturgic question in the life of church, helping the, faith of community to celebrate and to live the Christ mistery. The imposition of search is history secure. The placement about salvation, developed, showing us that since the creation it was present in the Father s purposes. They were saved and regained the human being. It assembled biblical and eclesiastic liturgical persons. So, on Sunday Day, it s a place grantee of divine kindness, through of celebration of Pascal Christ, producing us the transformation to the life. The community celebrate the faith in god s Day in a sanctified in the spirit that was present in the creation, verbalized in the alliance of Sinai and incarnated in Christ. Sunday is the Spirit s Day, proceed in the church in a eucaristic celebration.

Summaries in English and Afrikaans / This thesis embarked with the problem within the liturgy that tension exists in trying to minister justly according to the current context and trying to minister faithful to Scripture. A departing perspective is that the liturgy is the heartbeat in the congregation whereto and from where every aspect is networking. Also, that the emphasis can be on both proclaiming and celebrating in Protestant liturgies. Dialogical communication was chosen as theoretical approach together with communicative action for the sake of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The first and last chapters illustrate what is meant with the term liturgy.
The problem is stated (and investigated) that liturgy is a complicated and central phenomenon, which ought to let Reformed theology as well as a postmodern context come to their own. It is also indicated that liturgical spirituality, liturgical communication and liturgical pastorate can better be used and improved during Sunday liturgies. For the liturgy in order to serve the Reformed tradition and the postmodern context, and to uplift the three liturgical aspects of spirituality, communication and pastorate, liturgical symbols and rituals are posed as timeless agents to better the liturgy. Attention was also given to symbolism in Scripture.
This led to a model of application as a theory of praxis for the liturgical use of symbols and rituals. The core of this model or theory of praxis, is:
I. The highest priority in liturgical symbolism will always be to promote the holy Trinity and Biblical principles.
II. The supplementary use of right-brain components, such as experience, emotion and music.
III. A high premium on active participation and repetition.
IV. An approach of simplicity and soberness.
V. Relevance to the culture and context of the day.
VI. Services that take hold of total persons and focus on multiple senses and corporeality (bodily involvement).
i
VII. Room for transendence, imagination and mystic worship of God.
VIII. Actions and services that embrace diversity, pluralism and generative variety.
IX. Meetings where pastoral and therapeutic dimensions are included.
X. Celebration and positive experiences in meetings.
XI. The use of images, stories, metaphors and icons.
XII. The use of meta-communicative principles such as attitude, intention and high validation of other people.
is:
II. Dat aanvullende gebruikmaking en verrekening van regterbreinkomponente
soos ervaring, emosie en musiek noodsaaklik is.
Ill.
Practial Theology / D. Th. (Practical Theology)

Duchovní brownfield Olomouc - Zlín / Spiritual brownfield Olomouc - ZlínSmolová, Tereza Unknown Date (has links)
The assignment of this diploma thesis is the proposal of the Christian sacral centre as an extension of a current site of pilgrimage. Site is situated near Napajedelská brána by Zlin. Proposal is based on previous analysis of the regions of Valašsko and Haná. One of the most serious problems is a lack of spiritual and liturgical sites in the area of Zlín. The analysis and synthesis preceding this diploma thesis are enclosed. The analysis of sites of pilgrimage in the area of Zlín was one of the studied subjects. The assignment of the diploma thesis was created using a combination of discovered data – design of the site of pilgrimage including a church and spiritual centre. This thesis deals with the design of a church as a site of pilgrimage, facilities, accomodation for clergymen and pilgrims. The composition is based on three main objects – church, entrance house and accomodation. The composition is complemented by campanile and „baptistery“. An object itself has two above-ground floors and basement with spa. Some of the spaces in the building have to be functionally separated due to different approach of visitors. Part of the building is a garden which is ideologically and functionally inspired by monastery claustrum.

Barokní liturgický textil ve sbírkách českobudějovické diecéze / Baroque liturgical textiles in the collections of the Episcopal Diocese of České BudějoviceVácha, Jiří January 2018 (has links)
v anglickém jazyce The book presents an array of woven patterned fabrics from church treasuries in the territory of the Diocese of České Budějovice. The examples provided originate in the period spanning from the 16th to the 18th century, and they represent only a small selection of the surviving collections. The focal point consists of a magnificent collection of textiles from the 18th century, documenting the development of the individual historical spheres of decors overlapping into corresponding variants of design. The variability of patterns pertaining to this century is unusually high, and it combines a large number of sources of inspiration with roots in exotic overseas countries. The catalogue entries are furnished with brief technological analyses that offer an insight into the textile production of the respective periods and, at the same time, they provide researchers with a deeper understanding of the individual fabrics on display. Although the area of the Diocese of České Budějovice to a certain degree exceeds the boundaries of the Region of South Bohemia, the collections examined were, in their majority, imported from western European countries manufacturing weaving products of world renown. The catalogue outlines the historically significant import of luxury goods reflecting a variety...

Local Reception of Religious Change under Henry VIII and Edward VI: Evidence from Four Suffolk ParishesThompson, William Keene 01 January 2012 (has links)
From the second half of Henry VIII's reign through that of his son Edward VI, roughly 1530 through 1553, England was in turmoil. Traditional (Catholic) religion was methodically undermined, and sometimes violently swept away, in favor of a biblically based evangelical faith imported and adapted from European dissenters/reformers (Protestants). This thesis elucidates the process of parish-level religious change in England during the tumultuous mid sixteenth century. It does so through examining the unique dynamics and complexities of its local reception in a previously unstudied corner of the realm, the Suffolk parishes of Boxford, Cratfield, Long Melford, and Mildenhall. This thesis asserts that ongoing alterations in religious policy under Henry VIII and Edward VI reflected an evolution in both governmental tactics and local attitudes toward the locus of religious authority. Contrary to the view that the Reformation was done to the English people, the parish-level evidence investigated herein shows that, at least in Suffolk, the reformation was only accomplished with their cooperation. Furthermore, it finds that while costly, divisive, and unpopular in many parts of England, religious change was, for the most part, received enthusiastically in these four parishes. Two types of primary sources inform the historical narrative and analysis of this thesis. First, the official documents of religious reform initiated by the crown and Parliament tell the story of magisterial reformation, from the top down. Second, the often-mundane entries found in churchwardens' accounts of parish income and expenditure illuminate the individual and communal dynamics involved in implementing religious policy on the local level, from the bottom up. As agents operating between the distinct spheres of government authority and local interest, this study finds that churchwardens wielded significant power in the mediation of religious policy. The churchwardens' accounts are also supplemented throughout by analysis of selected parishioners' wills, which provide insight into personal beliefs of key individuals and hint at the formation of early religious affinity groupings within parishes. Chapter One summarizes the development of the pre-Reformation Sarum liturgy, its Eucharistic theology, and its relation to the late-medieval doctrine of purgatory. It also describes the richly decorated interiors of pre-Reformation English parish churches and their function as centers of community spiritual life. This provides a gauge through which to understand the extensive changes wrought to church liturgy and fabric during the Reformation. Chapter Two focuses on the unsettled nature of religious policy during the second half of Henry VIII's reign and how it set the stage for more severe changes to come. Chapters Three and Four examine the reign of Edward VI, which saw the most radical efforts at evangelical reform ever attempted in England. In these three chapters, official changes in religious policy are interwoven with analysis of local reaction in the four Suffolk parishes, revealing some surprising local responses and initiatives. The conclusion presents a summary of the historical narrative and analysis presented in the preceding chapters, suggests possibilities for further research, and offers closing thoughts about the local experience of negotiating religious change during this period.
