"Da Conversa na Praça ao Via Satélite - A Busca por Informação Agropecuária" / From a small talk to communication via satellite - The search for agribusiness information

Ana Paula da Silva 26 July 2005 (has links)
Note que 100% da amostra usa correio eletrônico. / The main purpose of this study is to understand the dynamics of the process of searching agribusiness information by people involved in this sector, who are interested in information that could support their economic activities. It is taken the hypothesis that the efficiently combined use of the means of communication can improve the level of information among readers and also contribute to their progress. The study focuses on the inter-relationship between the traditional means of communication and the new ones (on line ones). The first step was to look for political and economic background of the Brazilian agrarian activity, seeking for the origin of the current agribusiness model and of the means of communication used in this sector. Following, it was proceeded tree fronts of research to collect primary information. The first one was to analyze, during four months, the supply of agribusiness contents in the four major Brazilian press newspapers – Folha de S. Paulo, O Estado de S. Paulo, Gazeta Mercantil e Valor Econômico -, means of communication recognized as reference in agribusiness information in Brazil. Next, the four publishers of the respective agribusiness sections of those newspapers were interviewed in order to understand, among other things, what functions those professionals expected for their pages. The third step was centered on the readers (demand). People involved in the agribusiness were heard by means of two electronic questionnaires. In the first one, 179 professionals participated and, in the second one, 94. It is important to consider that a hundred percent of the samples use e-mails. Among other results, it was observed that the Internet is the preferred means for obtaining agribusiness information, which had most importance in the period of 2000 to 2004. The interviewed professionals have shown no interest for the radio.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Marilea Venancio Porfirio.pdf: 1459814 bytes, checksum: 1987f28c10278fd4b163e31fb47f3126 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2014-11-11 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The development process of Brazilian society, based on the extensive accumulation of capital and in the reproduction of social inequalities, produces harmful consequences for a considerable part of the population, perpetuated in the poverty and consequent deprivation of rights guarantees. The result o this process is reflected on the distribution of wealth and of social goods, given to the ones that are on the base of the society, as an anomaly and values inversion. On this scenario the homeless population is inserted, less recognized segment, which particularities and singularities demand answers expressed in formulations of public policies of national scope and articulations. Abandoned by the public realm it demands, in advance, the comprehension that it finds itself on this condition, because the State and the society assumed, historically, and excluding and discriminatory capitalist developing process. This thesis is based on this premise and it objectives itself to demonstrate by newspapers news how the homeless people is presented under various denominations, multiple saturated visibilities of invisibilities manifested on the obscurity of the media means. Focusing this approach, we aim to reveal the essential axel of the analysis of the selected news, the comprehension of the universality of The Human Rights, assumed on the 1988 Constitution, which reinforces the value of human dignity, fundament of the democratic right state (Article 1º, III). Rarely, the media is going to recognize the street situation under its humanized subjectivity, essentially presented in the Constitution, in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, in National Program of Human Rights III and in the Homeless National Policy. The theoretical methodology base is the result of the analysis of an inventory of collection and daily reading, since 2010, of the newspapers O GLOBO, O DIA and EXTRA, from Rio de Janeiro, electing the news related to the years of 2012, 2013 and the first months of 2014. The findings in the analysis send us to the understanding about the naturalization, triviality criminality of poverty of the homeless. We have also noticed, in the printed news, the inexistence of a punctual discussion under the scope and perspective of human rights, highlighting the invisibility and lack of representation of this population. In the direction of the representation fortification of the homeless people, this paper presents also the experience of the Permanent Forum on Adult Population Living in the Streets, understood here in the Gramscian conception, which presumes na articulated necessity between the civil society and politics society, economy and politics / O processo de desenvolvimento econômico da sociedade brasileira, pautado na extensiva acumulação do capital e na reprodução de desigualdades sociais, produz consequências nefastas para considerável parcela da população, perpetrada na miséria e na consequente privação de garantias de direitos.

The influence of the transition plan in developing communication programs

Tanaka, Yuki 01 January 1991 (has links)
The transition of students with moderate to severe handicaps from school to work and adult life has become a principal concern of special education over the last decade. Despite of these attentions, there has been little attention to the need for including plans for the student's communication needs in his or her Transition Plan. Thus, it is important to study the relationship between the inclusion of a student's communication needs in his or her Transition Plan and the effectiveness of communication programs. The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between the Transition Plan and the effectiveness of communication programs, considering the individual's functioning level, family involvement, and communication mode.

Facilitating communication for deaf individuals with mobile technologies

Summet, Valerie Henderson 31 March 2010 (has links)
Communication between deaf individuals and hearing individuals can be very difficult. For people who are born deaf, English is often a second language with the first language being American Sign Language (ASL). Very few hearing people in the United States sign or are aware of Deafness, Deaf culture, or how to appropriately communicate with people with hearing loss. In this thesis, I concentrate on the role that mobile technologies can play in ameliorating some of these issues. In formative work with Deaf teenagers in the metro-Atlanta area, I investigate the role that communication technologies play in the lives of many Deaf individuals and examine how these devices have effected their communication patterns and social circles. Specifically, the teens identified problems communicating with hearing individuals such as close friends and family in face-to-face situations. Having identified sign language use at home as one of the earliest interventions for Deaf children, I investigated the use of mobile phones for learning survival-level ASL. I created a prototype software application which presented short ASL lessons via either a mobile phone or desktop web-browser. The software presented the lessons via one of two different scheduling methods designed to take advantage of the spacing effect during learning. I designed and conducted a study of forty individuals with no prior ASL knowledge which compared the effects of both scheduling algorithm and platform. My results show that individuals who used a mobile phone platform and received a group of lessons at one time performed better on post-test receptive and generative ASL metrics than did participants in the three other conditions.

Salvador

Komunikační prostředky a jejich využití ve školách pro žáky se sluchovým postižením v Praze a Mnichově / Means of communication and their use at schools for pupils with hearing impairment in Prague and Munich

Vybíralová, Marie January 2017 (has links)
The presented diploma thesis deals with the means of communication (sign language, signed language, written language, finger alphabet, etc.) used by teachers in schools for pupils with hearing impairment in Prague and Munich. The work is interested in the topic of related educational approaches, which schools, or teachers use, and what means of communication they prefer. Using observation methods and questionnaires, it wants to find out what or who leads the educators to the chosen communication means and what they think about their own communication competencies. In addition, it compares the current situation of this issue at the elementary schools for the hearing impaired in Prague and Bavarian Munich. The first chapter focuses on which kind of pupils are attending schools for the hearing impaired and what are the possibilities for communication. The second chapter deals with approaches to the education of pupils with hearing impairment. In addition to basic approaches (oral, total, bilingual) describes the approach by American linguist D. A. Stewart, which was developed for the needs of the classroom. Before comparing the results of the research, there are two chapters dealing briefly with descriptions and history (particularly from the point of view of communication) of the researched schools....
