Horníci jako profese na pozadí ostravského regionu. / Miners as a profession in the background of the Ostrava region.Hybešová, Kateřina January 2019 (has links)
This thesis deals with the development of mining and mining colonies in the Ostrava region and also deals with the interpretation of interviews with miners performing their profession in the Ostrava-Karviná mining district between years 1950 and 1994. It focuses not only on the development of the environment and mining conditions in the Ostrava region, but also reasons and motivations for choosing a demanding and often life-threatening profession, as mining is. The thesis is produced using inductive method, where the processes at the individual level apply to wider groups. Such processing allows me to process interviews with witnesses alongside traditional written sources. The finding of the thesis is the fact that there are three main motives for the choosing of mining profession, which are family tradition, the possibility of not participating in two-year compulsory military training and last but not least, the above-standard wage. The thesis offers another view on how workers in socialist Czechoslovakia lived.

Previous issue date: 2014-09-09 / The work analyzes the media in the context of the Internet and outlines new methodologies for the study area in filtering meanings in the scientific realm of information flows from social networks, news media or any other device that allows storage and retrieval of structured information and unstructured. In an attempt to reflect on the ways that these information flows and develop mainly in the volume produced, the project scales the fields of meanings that this relationship appears in the theories and practices of research. The aim of this study is to contextualize the media area within a changing and dynamic reality that is the environment of the internet and make parallel before the applications already successful in other areas. With the method of case study three cases were analyzed under two conceptual keys to Web Sphere Analysis and the Web Science reflecting the opposing information systems in the discursive and structural aspect. This way observes what the Media has earned in order to view its objects of study in the environment of internet networks for these prospects. The research result shows that it is a challenge to the researcher Media seek new learning, but the feedback information in a collaborative environment that the Internet presents is fertile ground for research path, for data modeling wins analytical corpus when the set of tools promoted and driven by technology allows isolating contents and allows deepening the meanings and relationships.

Visualizing issue tracking data using a process mining tool to support the agile maturity assessment within the Scaled Agile Framework : A case study / Visualisering av ärendehanteringsdata med hjälp av ett process-mining-verktyg med syftet att stödja den agila mognadsmätningen inom SAFe. : En fallstudieHovmark, Olle January 2022 (has links)
Today, agile development is broadly used within both small and large organizations worldwide. Transitioning to agile development in a large organization is a complex task that requires support from everyone in it. The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a framework meant to help integrate agile development within all parts of an organization. Regularly conducted assessments of how well an organization has integrated agile development can be a way to make sure the transition is happening as intended. These kinds of assessments are often called agile maturity assessments. SAFe includes such an assessment, but since the assessment is based on thoughts and reflections from members in the organization, doing the assessment can be difficult and may give unreliable results. This study aims to explore one way to support the assessment with objective data by generating visualizations of issue tracking data extracted from Jira and Github. The Inductive visual Miner, a plugin in the process mining software ProM, was used for the visualizations. A case study was conducted at the IT department of the Swedish Tax Agency. A slightly modified version of the methodology called the PM2 methodology was used to conduct the study. The modified methodology included six stages; a planning stage, a data extraction stage, a data processing stage, a mining and analysis stage, an evaluation stage and lastly, an improvement stage where an attempt was made to improve the visualizations based on the analysis and the evaluation. The planning stage was used to gain information about the work processes in the organization and what kind of data that may exist in the chosen data sources. A set of goal questions connected to the agile maturity assessment were generated, which the visualizations were expected to provide answers to. Data from six teams were then used to generate the visualizations. At first, the visualizations were explored and later evaluated in collaboration with the SCRUM-master in each team. The results in this study show that visualizations generated from issue tracking data using the Inductive visual Miner can be used to answer questions about time and order of events that are related to the agile maturity assessment within SAFe. However, additional analysis and reflections are needed to draw conclusions about the agile maturity from the information obtained from the visualizations. A set of requirements for the data used to generate this kind of visualizations is also proposed. The requirements were based on the results from all stages.

The Impact of a Part 48 Training Program on the Health and Safety Knowledge Level of Newly Employed Inexperienced MinersRevel, Layton 12 1900 (has links)
The impact of a mandatory Part 48 training program on the health and safety knowledge level of newly employed inexperienced miners in Texas was studied. Part 48 training was defined by compliance with Mine Safety and Health Administration's (MSHA) mandatory health and safety training requirements. A two-group pretest, posttest research design was utilized. Group one individuals were newly employed inexperienced persons who received mandatory Part 48 training in accordance with MSHA guidelines. Group two subjects were newly employed inexperienced persons who worked for companies that were exempt from conducting a Part 48 training program. MSHA's health and safety knowledge inventory was utilized. A significant difference was found in the health and safety training program when compared with individuals who did not receive the training . A significant difference was also found in the posttest scores for eight of the ten subject areas of the MSHA health and safety knowledge inventory for persons who completed a Part 48 training program when compared to persons who did not receive the training . Analysis of gain scores resulted in significant differences in the same subject areas indicated by posttest scores. It was concluded that MSHA Part 48 did have a significant impact on the health and safety knowledge level of newly employed inexperienced miners. Additional implications noted relate to the impact of a Part 48 training program on accidents, productivity, absenteeism, turnover, job satisfaction and management styles; role of MSHA in miner training; development of new training materials; methods of training; and the evaluation of health and safety training programs.

Previous issue date: 2012-09-25 / Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Maranhão / This research investigates, in their contracts of communication, schedules themes of advertising of mining Vale in the state of Maranhão. It is examining the social construction of the idea of sustainable development and the importance that this issue has acquired social-environmental agenda in communication, especially to understand the transformations in the Brazilian advertising, and in particular, the time that the socioenvironmental commitment became the focus of construction of identity. Are studied regimes of visibility established considering the before and after the change of visual identity of the company, which was implanted in 2007. The corpus of work shall consist of advertisements in print media by mining between 1999 and 2011. Analyses verb-visuals to be developed will be based in plastic-semiotic discursive from Diana and Vicente Barros Pietroforte, as well as the social theory of discourse, from Norman Fairclough, in the communication contracts, as Patrick Charadeau points and the discursive theories from Ernesto Laclau, focusing the research on constructions of sense of environmental responsibility within a totalizing ideological discourse which selects this theme as a standard. From theorical considerations from Laymert Garcia dos Santos, Anthony Giddens, Luc Ferry and, in particular, Joan Martínez Alier, we will discuss the green discuss, the figures of the different currents of environmentalism and its implications in Brazilian advertising / Esta pesquisa investiga, nos respectivos contratos comunicacionais, os agendamentos temáticos da publicidade da mineradora Vale no estado do Maranhão.

Dependência e mineração no quadrilátero ferrífero-aquífero: o discurso do desenvolvimento minerador e o Projeto Apolo / Dependency and mining at quadrilátero ferrífero-aquífero: development mining discourse and the Apolo ProjectTádzio Peters Coelho 02 March 2012 (has links)
We intend at this work to show the class relations between miner companies and local civil society, primarily through the Dependency Theory. We try to reflect about the social effects of the ore exports in local populations of the mining regions and the ways of maintaining this social order. Sometimes, we focused our analysis specifically in the city of Caeté where mitigates the Apolo Project of Vale SA. Our hypothesis is that there are numerous damage caused by mining to the local civil society. The local population and the working classes do not mobilize a counter-hegemonic discourse, or even questioning, wide accepted in the local community because of the discourse of progress and development and the economic dependency of the region to the mining demobilize the opposite movements to mining.
