Product Placement ve vybraném díle / Product Placement in selected movie

Havlíčková, Lenka January 2012 (has links)
This thesis is focused on both product placement problems on a general theoretical level and their usage in a specific movie called Probudím se včera (I wake up yesterday). In the theoretical part of the essay the relevant notions involving marketing and media areas are defined, the practical part includes both the analysis of specific integration types of various brands in the film and the evaluation of information picked up by a questionnaire form which has searched for a respondents attitude to the product placement dilemma in a general way and also from the point of view of the chosen movie Probudím se včera.

”Sometimes I feel so invisible I wonder if I’m here at all.”

Rehn, Matilda January 2022 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to identify the existential themes present in the movie Where the crawdads sing (2022) by using the method thematic content analysis. The method is used when the aim is to identify themes or patterns within the data. In the movie the main character, Kya, faces challenges in life that raise existential thoughts and questions that together point to the existential themes being identified. Furthermore, the study examined how the main character deals with these existential challenges by applying Pargament’s religious coping theory. The theory explains how people use religious or spiritual beliefs to cope with stress and adversity. The research questions for this study are:  What existential themes challenge Kya? How does Kya relate and deal with these existential challenges? The result of the study showed that the movie explores themes of social context, to be exposed to threats and thoughts of life and death. When researching how Kya copes with her challenges, it was discovered that nature and social relationships are significant for Kya throughout the movie. However, she uses a reconstructive coping mechanism in order to conserve her significance. Kya does this by getting rid of obstacles in her way.

Arbetsplatskonflikter och deras konfliktlösningar : En socialpsykologisk filmanalys gällande arbetsplatskonflikter ur tv-serien Syrror

Stenlund, Karolina January 2018 (has links)
When it comes to the word workplace conflicts, this often happens in negative terms that conflicts are somewhat destructive to the organization. Therefore, it is important to address the conflicts before they increase in scope and intensity, because then a poor psychosocial workplace environment can be created in the workplace (Larsen, 2012). My experience is that there is a lot of research on workplace conflicts, but little about just care-related professions. I wanted to fill this knowledge gap in research, and therefore this essay was added, as my experience is that conflicts in health care are often quieted down and it is common for each other to defend themselves when conflicts arise. Power struggles about whose words are to weigh heaviest in a particular issue, so-called position conflict and allocation conflicts regarding available resources about money are also commonplace. Standard phrases often expressed are "There is no money" and "We do not have time". The purpose of the paper is to highlight the origin of workplace conflicts and their conflict resolution in a fictional hospital environment through Season 1 of the TV series "Syrror" where workplace conflicts between employees and conflicts between senior executives have been selected, these have since been analyzed using social psychology and organizational communication . The result shows that there are 4 types of workplace conflicts. Structural conflicts of responsibility and role distribution as well as routines and its regulations. Behavioral conflicts between colleagues or between boss and coworkers as well as their way of doing tasks are also seen, they also provide an "essence" of how relationships and communication on emergency services work. Conflicts of position regarding which words to weigh heaviest in a particular question also occur and, finally, conflicts of conflicts that concern ethics and morals. The result also shows how important it is to think of each other's work environment, so it is important to address conflicts on time and keep them at a constructive level, something that also (Malten, 1998) agrees when he says that "a conflict should be seen as something natural in an organization, one can imagine that the conflict is creative in the sense that it can open up to focus on opportunities instead of obstacles."  Keywords: Movie analysis, social psychology, organizational communication, workplace conflicts, conflict resolutions.

Eriksson, Erika, Hallberg, Helena January 2009 (has links)
</p> / <p><strong>Background: </strong>Alzheimer´s disease changes the memory of the sufferer, this means that they become dependent of caring. Relatives do not often want to leave them, but rather become their natural caregivers in their home. This is experienced as security for the sufferer, because moving often disturbs a memory disorder. Regardless of whether it is natural care or professional care the caring relationship is important because it relieves suffering. <strong>Problem:</strong> Human beings affected by Alzheimer's, has difficulty expressing them verbally, which may prevent a caring relationship. This could contribute that their suffering will not alleviate. <strong>Aim: </strong>To illuminate how the caring relationship shapes in drama, when a relative becomes a natural caregiver to a person suffering from Alzheimer's disease. <strong>Method: </strong>A latent content analysis was used for analyzing the movie “En sång för Martin”. <strong>Results: </strong>The results are presented in four themes, “Like playing a game”, “I just want to help you”, “Solo though we are two” and “The most sacred promises”, to illuminate the aim. <strong>Conclusion: </strong>Both parts can in the caring relationships grow together and find a way out of suffering. Without the caring relationship presence they were left alone in their pain, fear and anxiety.</p>

Femme fatale: Kvinnorna i Blade Runner : En studie av visuell karaktär och kvinnlig representation i filmerna Blade Runner: The Final Cut och Blade Runner 2049 / Femme fatale: The women of Blade Runner : A study in visual character and female representation in the films Blade Runner: The Final Cut and Blade Runner 2049

Skoting, Joel January 2022 (has links)
In this study I have compared the two movies Blade Runner: The Final Cut (2006) and Blade Runner 2049 (2017) in regards to their visual identity and female representation. The first of these films is the latest version of Blade Runner, a movie which have undergone an unusual amount of editing and therefore exists in multiple iterations. The latter of the two is a direct sequel, released 35 years after the original version of Blade Runner. I have done a thorough account of the respective plot, visual characteristics and of how the women are portrayed whitin each film. Due to a comparison of these I have been able to outline some interesting themes in regards to how both films incoporate themes of commersialisation of the female form, although in varying degrees. This is sometime undermined by the films problematic portrayal of some of these characters. I have also been able to observe a shift in regards to how the films portray a futuristic Los Angeles. Rather than mixing noir-inspired, believable locales with elements typical of science fiction, Blade Runner 2049 portrays the future as more coherent and stylistic. Some scenes in Blade Runner 2049 consists of only a few tones of a single colour, such as blue, grey and orange, a stylistic choice Blade Runner: The Final Cut does not use.

Creation, deconstruction, and evaluation of a biochemistry animation about the role of the actin cytoskeleton in cell motility

Kevin Wee (11198013) 28 July 2021 (has links)
<p>External representations (ERs) used in science education are multimodal ensembles consisting of design elements to convey educational meanings to the audience. As an example of a dynamic ER, an animation presenting its content features (i.e., scientific concepts) via varying the feature’s depiction over time. A production team invited the dissertation author to inspect their creation of a biochemistry animation about the role of the actin cytoskeleton in cell motility and the animation’s implication on learning. To address this, the author developed a four-step methodology entitled the Multimodal Variation Analysis of Dynamic External Representations (MVADER) that deconstructs the animation’s content and design to inspect how each content feature is conveyed via the animation’s design elements.</p><p><br></p><p> </p><p>This dissertation research investigated the actin animation’s educational value and the MVADER’s utility in animation evaluation. The research design was guided by descriptive case study methodology and an integrated framework consisting of the variation theory, multimodal analysis, and visual analytics. As stated above, the animation was analyzed using MVADER. The development of the actin animation and the content features the production team members intended to convey via the animation were studied by analyzing the communication records between the members, observing the team meetings, and interviewing the members individually. Furthermore, students’ learning experiences from watching the animation were examined via semi-structured interviews coupled with post- storyboarding. Moreover, the instructions of MVADER and its applications in studying the actin animation were reviewed to determine the MVADER’s usefulness as an animation evaluation tool.</p><p><br></p><p> </p><p>Findings of this research indicate that the three educators in the production team intended the actin animation to convey forty-three content features to the undergraduate biology students. At least 50% of the student who participated in this thesis learned thirty-five of these forty-three (> 80%) features. Evidence suggests that the animation’s effectiveness to convey its features was associated with the features’ depiction time, the number of identified design elements applied to depict the features, and the features’ variation of depiction over time.</p><p><br></p><p>Additionally, one-third of the student participants made similar mistakes regarding two content features after watching the actin animation: the F-actin elongation and the F-actin crosslink structure in lamellipodia. The analysis reveals the animation’s potential design flaws that might have contributed to these common misconceptions. Furthermore, two disruptors to the creation process and the educational value of the actin animation were identified: the vagueness of the learning goals and the designer’s placement of the animation’s beauty over its reach to the learning goals. The vagueness of the learning goals hampered the narration scripting process. On the other hand, the designer’s prioritization of the animation’s aesthetic led to the inclusion of a “beauty shot” in the animation that caused students’ confusion.</p><p><br></p><p> </p><p>MVADER was used to examine the content, design, and their relationships in the actin animation at multiple aspects and granularities. The result of MVADER was compared with the students’ learning outcomes from watching the animation to identify the characteristics of content’s depiction that were constructive and disruptive to learning. These findings led to several practical recommendations to teach using the actin animation and create educational ERs.</p><p><br></p><p> </p><p>To conclude, this dissertation discloses the connections between the creation process, the content and design, and the educational implication of a biochemistry animation. It also introduces MVADER as a novel ER analysis tool to the education research and visualization communities. MVADER can be applied in various formats of static and dynamic ERs and beyond the disciplines of biology and chemistry.</p>
