Los Cementerios no pueden morir, Necropolis Vertical Distrito de Surquillo

Moreno Navarro, Claudia Milagros, Nuñez Oliveros, Jorge Luis January 2017 (has links)

Landscape of Ritual: A Necropolis in Algiers LouisianaE

January 2007 (has links)
Cities today are suffering from public dependence on the automobile and a tendency to sprawl. The preference afforded to privatized means of mobility and dwelling has diminished opportunities for interaction and exchange in the public realm. The role of public transportation infrastructure must be elevated to reconnect our fractured communities. To achieve this, the identity of place must be translated into infrastructure- something that is by definition a regularized system of support. Combining the utility of infrastructure and a contextual reading of place, stations have a unique opportunity to communicate to the public. One station simultaneously reflects the identity of the regional network, the particular line it is located along, and the neighborhood it serves. An investigation into the need for redesign of transportation infrastructure in New Orleans explores the relationship between the ephemeral experiences of mobility through a city of shifting identity. Stations designed along a local and an express line demonstrate an approach to transportation planning and design that reinforces local identity in order to redefine the city. / Yes

OEnôtres et Grecs dans Le Golfe de Policastro : nouvelles données de Palinuro et Rivello / Oinotrians and Greeks in the Gulf of Policastro : new data from Palinuro and Rivello / Enotri e Greci nel Golfo di Policastro : nuovi dati da Palinuro e Rivello

Cocorullo, Alessandro 24 July 2018 (has links)
My Phd’s research concerns the study of twenty burial goods dated of Archaic period and located in Palinuro and Rivello, in Southern Italy. These two sites are placed in the Gulf of Policastro, an area populated during the last Greek colonization. The strategic position of the Oinotrians sites developed a rich commercial network with the Greek cities. However, after the Sybaris’ fall, the Oenotrians communities begin to disappear and the archaeological quests reveal no data until the end of he Vth century. The aim of the research was to give an answer to the rapports between Greeks and Indigenous, as well as to the lack of data that characterizes the most part of Vth century. In addition to the burial goods analysis, the research extended on a topographical study of the Gulf and of the city of Elea as well as the study of the historical sources, especially about Palinuro’s tradition. The triple approach gave a complete context of the region between the end of archaic period and the beginning of Vth century. First of all, the grave goods are indicators of a society influenced by the Greek banquet customs. Moreover, the study about the Palinuro’s burial goods allowed lowering chronology around 480-460 b.C. This datum reduced the lack of finds between the Sybaris’ fall and the beginning of the so-called “lucanisation”. The Gulf sites play a mediator role of the Sybaris’ empire and they benefit from a certain autonomy, as revealed by the presence of Achaean-eight coins links and epigraphs in oinotrian language. The research reveals the Gulf of Policastro as a vivid region with a certain autonomy, who continues its life even after the fall of Sybaris.

GestÃo de aquÃferos impactados por necrÃpoles / Impacted aquifer management by necropolis

Mauro CÃsar de Brito Sousa 27 March 2015 (has links)
If inappropriately located or insufficiently protected, the necropolis mean an important problem for public health and contamination risks to aquifers. In Teresina, PiauÃ, the case of the cemetery Areias, located near the ParnaÃba River and close to the water intake for public supply, calls attention to negligence the management of contaminated areas and reflects the current state of aquifers management impacted by necropolis in Brazil. This study indicated the appropriate form of investigation environmental liabilities caused by necropolis. In addition, used the computer modeling of aquifers to improve the diagnosis of contamination, adapting solutions to ensure the quality and simplicity of the model. Furthermore, this study proposed the implementation of devices to improve the licensing criteria set by CONAMA Resolution 368/2006. The results showed that the use of the suggested steps can help manage aquifers impacted by necropolis and prevent the development of new environmental liabilities in urban areas.

Bavay, Laurent 12 February 2008 (has links)

Threads of Time: Technique, Structure and Iconography in an Embroidered Mantle from Paracas

Dyer, Mary Anne 01 January 1996 (has links)
This thesis analyzes the structure, technique and iconography of an embroidered burial mantle from Wari Kayan Necropolis on the Paracas Peninsula, Peru, which dates between approximately 100 B.C. and A.D. 100. The mantle is currently in the collection of the American Museum of Natural History in New York City (Accession no. 41.2/632), and will be referred to subsequently as the AMNH mantle. This study will consist of a structural analysis of the burial mantle, addressing the design of the textile and the iconography. In addition to examining the origin and iconography of the double-headed bird motif which appears throughout the mantle, this study analyzes technical and design considerations involved in the creation of the mantle, including style of embroidery, structure, and color repeats. Ethnographic studies of Andean cultures will also be considered in the analysis of the symbolic and ritual aspects of textiles, and how they relate to the symbolic function of the mantle in its burial context.

A cidade fictiva: visões e mundos da cidade em contos contemporâneos brasileiros, chilenos e portugueses / The concept of \"fictive city\": he city that is born specifically of literary aesthetic construction by Brazilans, Chileans and Portuguese writers

Lima, Paula Andrea Vera Bustamante de 15 May 2007 (has links)
This research paper puts forward the concept of \"fictive city\", understood as the city that is born specifically of literary aesthetic construction. This concept enables one to discover the foundations of the city in literature as from the earliest texts of literary creation in the West (Enuma Elish, the Gilgamesh Epic), in order to detect their main characteristics and examine how these constitute building blocks of contemporary Brazilian, Chilean and Portuguese tales in which an idea of \"tale from the city\" can be perceived. The study of the fictive city sets out certain paradigms, found in a number of different texts, such as La Ciudad está Triste, by Chilean author Ramón Díaz Etérovic, \"Timotu Kalu\", by Origenes Lessa, \"Passeio Noturno I e II\", by Rubem Fonseca, and \"A tua véspera de Natal\", by Portuguese author David Mourão-Ferreira. In addition to these paradigms, certain possible worlds of the fictive city are established, taken from a comparative analysis of the tales: \"Amor\", by Clarice Lispector, and \"La Elegida\", by Chilean Lilian Elphick; \"Una señora\", by Chilean José Donoso, and \"Sem Remédio\", by Luiz Ruffato; \"Busca\", by João Antônio and \"A Bota\", by Portuguese José Rodrigues Miguéis.

Les rites funéraires dans le royaume téménide et ses environs à la période archaïque / Funerary rites in the Temenid kingdom and its surrounding territories during the archaic period

Del Socorro, Nathalie 09 January 2017 (has links)
The funerary practices used in the Temenid kingdom during the archaic period testify of the use of standardized practices linked to strong local beliefs in the afterlife. In some cases, cemeteries could be particularly vast, and display a variety of funerary artefacts, often richly ornated, like vases, weaponry, jewellery and miniature objects. The wealthiest tombs could also contain funerary masks. If we analyze the data that has been published, it is possible to determine patterns in the selection of objects, recurrent iconographical themes as well as common features linking together these different cemeteries. It is also possible to determine local characteristics present in each site.
