Mulheres e ordenação (na IECLB) : novos modelos e outras possibilidades na vivência cotidiana do ministério ordenado

Ligiane Taiza Muller Fernandes 22 December 2010 (has links)
Women and the ordination in the Evangelical Church of the Lutheran Confession in Brazil (ECLCB) are new models and also other possibilities in daily existence of the ordination ministry. Womens presence in the Church is old. However, this new and important step, womens ordination in ECLCB, is recent. Shuffling the trunk showed us that the presence of a masculine normative model made women face the challenge of daring and trying new models, living other possibilities, treading new roads, until they could find their own way of living the ministry. The discourse hermeneutic and the feminist hermeneutic are experienced when we dare to interpret some discourses of ordained women. And still a curious glance wants to reveal a little of the existent relics on daily life, like speeches and also practices, as well as to point challenges which will appear for us in order to think on continuity. This research has as objective to notice and to make visible some of the challenges women find in daily life of ordination ministry, but it also wants to point possibilities, showing positive signs, daily experiences which can be growth and accomplishment signs for women as well as for communities and for Churches in general, signs which womens presence brings in that ministry.

A ambiguidade da ordenação feminina : mulher e subjetividade na comunidades paulinas durante os primeiro seculo / The kingdom for her: women and christian communities in the first century

This work discusses like the discourses are appropriate and selected in order to legitimize and behaviors, such as the problem of female Ordination in Catholic scope in the twentieth century and after the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965), that became the starting point for debates among feminist theologians and the 'conservative' of the Catholic Church. Thus, the question of ordination passes, by both groups, for a Christian appropriation of the past, its origins in the corpus paulinum became a starting point for debate and arguments today. It was from these origins that the work the second moment, focused to address the context of this world Pauline century, where values like honor and shame were worked in the Pauline communities and reflect the corpus paulinum. The issue of ordination is the initial point of the thesis, because this research focuses as Paul was appropriated and used by both groups in contemporary writings as a post-Pauline, where the figure of Paul was used to legitimize and endorse behaviors and attitudes, and a process of institutionalization of the Church. In short, this work suggests some ideas for different concepts such as male and female, analyzed from a gender perspective. It emerges, of that analysis, another look at the social-sex role in Pauline communities of first century CE, which allows a comparison of this reading with academic discourses on the subject / Tese (douorado) - Universidade / Historia Cultural / Doutor em História

Impact and significance of tephra deposition from Mount Mazama and Holocene climate variability in the Pacific Northwest USA

Egan, Joanne January 2016 (has links)
The mid-Holocene climactic eruption of Mount Mazama in Oregon, USA (Volcanic Explosivity Index, VEI-7) was among the largest eruptions globally during the Holocene. Despite evidence for possible hemispheric climatic impacts, the age of the eruption is not well-constrained and little is known about the environmental impacts of distal tephra deposition with previous studies showing no clear consensus. Further, the eruption occurred during a time of global climatic warming, raising questions about the impacts of tephra deposition in the context of longer-term change. Thus the aim of this thesis is to investigate the terrestrial and aquatic impacts of distal tephra deposition from the climactic eruption of Mount Mazama approximately 7700 years ago, and to reconstruct Holocene environmental change in the Pacific Northwest of North America. The Mazama tephra forms an important isochronous marker horizon. A refined age of 7682-7584 cal. years BP (95.4% probability range) for the eruption was acquired through Bayesian statistical modelling of 81 previously published radiocarbon age estimations. Through high resolution palaeoecological and statistical analyses (stratigraphy, tephra geochemistry, radiocarbon dating, pollen, diatoms and ordination) the aquatic and terrestrial impacts of tephra deposition are assessed. Records were examined from the centre and fringe of Moss Lake, Washington to elucidate regional and local effects on vegetation and to determine whether the observed aquatic impacts were consistent throughout the lake, or whether the diatoms were responding to other factors, such as climate or catchment changes. Tephra deposition from the climactic eruption of Mount Mazama caused a statistically significant local terrestrial impact with changes to open habitat vegetation (Cyperaceae and Poaceae) and changes in aquatic macrophytes (Myriophyllum spicatum, Equisetum) and alga (Pediastrum), but there was no significant regional impact of distal tephra deposition. Statistical testing suggests the regional changes observed were climate-driven, evidenced by longer-term, underlying environmental change. Tephra deposition had a statistically significant impact on the aquatic system with decreases of epiphytic taxa (Fragilaria brevistriata and Staurosira venter) and increases of epipelic (Brachysira brebissonii) and tychoplanktonic taxa (Aulacoseira sp.) indicating a change in habitat and an increase of the Si:P ratio, lasting approximately 150 years. Variance partitioning demonstrated tephra to be a significant environmental variable; however, directional change exerted most influence and interactions between variables are evident. This study clearly demonstrates that there are complex interactions between drivers of change which is evidenced through time series analysis of the diatom Holocene record, revealing periodicities of approximately 2000 years, 1300 years, and 450 years attributed to solar variation and ocean-atmosphere interactions. Overall, tephra had a significant local effect on the environment, but no significant impact on the region independent of underlying environmental changes. More studies of similar nature are needed to evaluate the wider regional significance of the localised impacts shown at Moss Lake.

Understory Plant Community Structure in Forests Invaded by Garlic Mustard (Alliaria petiolata)

Aylward, Jason 13 July 2016 (has links)
ABSTRACT UNDERSTORY PLANT COMMUNITY STRUCTURE IN FORESTS INVADED BY GARLIC MUSTARD (ALLIARIA PETIOLATA) MAY 2016 JASON ALLEN AYLWARD, B.S., PAUL SMITH’S COLLEGE M.S. UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS AMHERST Directed by: Professor Kristina Stinson Plant invasions represent a significant threat to the structure and function of natural ecosystems. Garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata) has been identified as a threat to native communities mostly through small-scale studies and focused experiments. In this in situ observational study I examined the effects of garlic mustard invasion on species composition across multiple sites by comparing plant diversity and composition in invaded and adjacent non-invaded communities. Mean Shannon diversity was higher in invaded compared to non-invaded plots and invasion was associated with greater densities of invasive species such as burning bush (Euonymus alatus), and greater celandine (Chelidonium majus). In ordination space, the sites grouped more closely by geographic region than by invasion status, suggesting that regional environmental variation is important for community structure. My findings indicate that garlic mustard invasion is associated with other invasive plants, and that the understory plant community varies considerably across the region regardless of invasion status. Overall we show that community structure in garlic mustard invaded forest understories is not consistent across the landscape.

Komparace koordinačních charakteristik kroku při chůzi na běžeckém trenažéru a v terénu / Comparison of the coordination characteristics of the step of walking on the run trainer and on the natural ground

Dančová, Štěpánka January 2014 (has links)
Title: Walking step coordination characteristic comparison for walking on running simulator and off-road walking. Objectives: Goal of the thesis is to measure, analyze and evaluate data of activity and involvement of lower limb muscles for offroad walking and walking on running simulator. The measured characteristic will be intra-individually and extra-individually compared. Method: Surface polyelectromyography method for data measurement and kineziological movement analysis method for values comparison are used in the thesis. Ten muscles of lower limb (2  5 muscles on left and right lower limb) were chosen. Results: Ten lower limb muscles were chosen and their activity for walking on running simulator and offroad walking was measured by surface polyelectromyography method on ten sportsmen. The results indicate that chosen muscles participate on monitored movement. The analysis shows that the muscles activity follows the same order for each of tested sportsmen independently on the external condition (running simulator and offroad walking). The thesis that correlation of measured values is higher for running simulator have been confirmed. But m.gluteus.med. and m.glut.max. have variation in the activity of the involvement in the field and on the treadmill. Similar results have also m.vastus med....

Kvinnan som förkunnare av Guds ord : En studie av argumentationen om prästvigning av kvinnor 1923-1950

Smolman, Anna January 2021 (has links)
This study deals with the historical development around the arguments for women's eligibility for the priesthood in the Church of Sweden between the years 1923-1950. Based on two government investigations in 1923 and 1950, I present the argument that emerges and how this relates to the gender order and social structures of the time. My purpose of the study is to provide an insight into the multifaceted debate that this issue gave rise to. My questions are: what arguments for or against the female priesthood were put forward in these investigations and how were these related to understandings of male and female? I will methodically use a qualitative text analysis based on the hermeneutic spiral and take as a starting point the gender theories of previous research to answer these questions. The study shows how the presented arguments in several ways formed a distinction between men and women. The argument was also developed during these years and the study shows how it is connected with an overall changed gender order and societal structures.
