Miqueias Machado Pontes 12 January 2015 (has links)
The role of women and exercising leadership has been an issue of ethical discussion in the Assemblies of God in Brazil faced with the challenges imposed by modernity. The concept of otherness and the issues raised by feminism and incorporated in feminist theologies can help in the quest for answers. Some women have stood out in the history of this religious denomination showing that the participation of women in the ecclesiastical pastoral function is possible. The stories of Frida Vingren and Ruth Doris Lemas prove that since the foundation of the Assemblies of God in Brazil up to the consolidation of the formation of their leadership, the women have actively participated and even demanded their recognition through the ministerial ordination. In this discussion gender issues are involved which show possible new perspectives for the future of the church in Brazil. That is why, considering the active and organically distributed role of the women, this conclusion paper for the Professional Masters program considers their role in the history of the Assemblies of God throughout its institutionalization as a branch of the Pentecostal Protestantism present in Brazil as well as their struggle for recognition.

Data from 14 castrated males, born March-April/2009 and sacrificed with 8-9 months of age, originating from the familiar raising unit Casa de Pedra, RS, Brazil (Lot a) for 20 castrated male goats, born in June-July/2008, slaughtered at 11-12 months of age, originating from the familiar raising unit Arroio da Palma, RS, Brazil (Lot b), underwent randomization test and principal component analysis. The test result randomization between lots accepted that the set of variables Lots differ. The principal component analysis using forty-five descriptor variables showed that about 37.75% of the total variation is explained by the first component and 20.83% for the second. When using the 24 descriptors with the highest correlation with the ordination axes observed significant correlations for most variables. The principal component analysis explained more than 75% in the first two components. The characteristics that best explained the object of the study were: chilled carcass weight, hardness, right carcass, chewiness, hot carcass weight, global evaluation, live weight, yield hot carcass. The ordination diagram synthesized information and descriptive variables. The use of multivariate techniques may be recommended to evaluate the goat meat.

Ferreira, Otoniel Geter Lauz 08 December 2006 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2014-08-20T14:38:49Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Tese _Otoniel_Geter_Lauz_Ferreira.pdf: 474070 bytes, checksum: bf38b7baf618a898f006008c5eaaaa44 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2006-12-08 / Soil seed bank spontaneous species regeneration dynamics of a previously cultivated native grassland, under different systems, was evaluated in five cropping seasons (May/2002, 2003 and October/2002, 2003, 2004). Three soil cultivation systems were compared: no tillage, minimum tillage and conventional tillage along with three cropping rotation sequences: soybean/corn in Summer (alternating wheat and oats for grain in Winter), soybean/oats + common vetch/corn and soybean/corn, alternating with Winter fallow. Number of species and vegetation structure (Braun- Blanquet scale) were evaluated by uni and multivariate analyses. Cultivations with low soil mobilization and fallow in cropping sequences determined a greater number of regenerated species from soil seed bank. No tillage system favored the appearance of perennial species and greater probability of native grassland species regeneration. Regeneration of spontaneous species from seed bank of a previously cultivated native grassland, managed under different systems, showed seasonal pattern, with alterations upon increasing number of cultivations. Cropping sequences affected autumnal vegetation but they were not determinant in the occurrence of native grassland species.

The Effect of Contemporary Hydrologic Modification on Vegetation Community Composition Distinctness in the Florida Everglades

Isherwood, Ewan 18 October 2013 (has links)
The historic Everglades Ridge and Slough landscape maintained regularly spaced and elevated sawgrass ridges interspersed among exposed deeper-water sloughs; however, widespread but irregular hydrologic modification has degraded much of this landscape patterning. My study assessed the effects of hydrologic modification on vegetation community distinctness within the Ridge and Slough landscape through sampling species composition at fine-scales along a hydrologic gradient to measure the magnitude of segregation of species among patch types. The results show that vegetation community and topographic variation degradation is widespread, with distinctness differences proceeding and possibly being driven by topographic variation loss. Vegetation responses to past hydrologic regime modifications are likely affected by temporal lags; however, vegetation distinctness regeneration may also be hindered by a vegetatively homogeneous alternative stable state. Hydrologic regime restoration is critical for Ridge and Slough patterned landscape reestablishment, but management targets are complicated by vegetation response lags and possibly alternative stable states.

Coordenação eleitoral e voto dividido no Brasil: o caso das eleições municipais de 2004 e 2008 / Electoral co-ordination and Split vote in Brazil: the case of municipal polls of 2004 and 2008

Constância Lira de Barros Correia Rodrigues Costa 18 February 2013 (has links)
The current work aims to investigate the split vote for the municipal elections of 2004 and 2008 in Brazil. The study focuses on verifying whether the electorate votes for candidates from different parties and/or coalitions in the same round or not i.e. whether voters split their votes in between the mayor and city counsellor. It is taken for granted in the literature the fact that the electoral co-ordinations among the various parties and political elites has an influential role for the splitting or not of the vote. One of the main indicators of greater electoral co-ordination is related to the party ability to co-ordinate its actions as from electoral coalitions. Thus, the results show how the party electoral co-ordination, besides fostering a greater electoral success, reduces the probability of splitting the vote on the part of the voter.

Att vara vigd åt socialt arbete : En kvalitativ intervjustudie om vigningens betydelse med diakoner i Svenska kyrkan / Being consecrated to social work : A qualitative interview study on the ordination services significance with deacons in the Church of Sweden

Scherer, Benjamin January 2020 (has links)
The aim of this study was to examine what significance it may have for deacons within the Church of Sweden to be consecrated to their mission. Within the framework of the study, nine qualitative research interviews were conducted with deacons from five different parishes in the Stockholm diocese. The material was processed in hermeneutical tradition and analysed based on the theory of role transitions. The study indicates that the ordination implies an identity that brings a sense of meaning, control and belonging. This identity permeates not only the deacon's social work but the deacon's entire life. The ordination requires that the deacon lives an integrated life, which means coherence between who one is at work and who one is off work, and brings with it expectations from different directions that the deacon must relate to. The study also indicates an ambivalence among the interviewees; while the role of the deacon permeates the deacon's entire life, the deacon must set boundaries of various kinds in order to be able to step out of her or his work.

The impact of religious and cultural discourses on the leadership development of women in the ministry : a vhusadzi (womanhood) perspective

Mudimeli, Lufuluvhi Maria 10 1900 (has links)
Culture and religion have both healthy and unhealthy effect on the leadership development of women in Africa. In this regard, the impact of especially African Pentecostal Christian discourses, as well as Vhavenda cultural discourses, on the lives of women leaders are brought to the surface through literary reviews, questionnaires and interviews. Accordingly, the data obtained by means of these methods are analysed using existing theological and cultural hermeneutics methods. Furthermore, they are deconstructed in terms of a vhusadzi (womanhood) perspective of empowerment regarding women in the ministry, which is applicable in an African-South African context. The present role of women in Pentecostal churches in the Venda context is studied historically and critically with reference to a future of empowerment. It is found that the leadership role of women in the ministry in Pentecostal churches in Venda is faced by certain challenges, which include rereading the Bible from the perspective of women in partnership with men, validating women’s ordination in dialogue with patriarchal interpretations of presumed biblical prohibitions on women’s ordination, rescoping cultural influences on church leadership roles, which are supported by Venda proverbs and rituals and reframing perceptions of women in the ministry amongst church leaders and the laity. The unique contribution of this thesis is, firstly, its focus on Pentecostal women in Venda. Secondly, a vhusadzi perspective is formulated that has never been done before in the literature. This perspective encompasses the experiences and expectations of Vhavenda women living in the Limpopo Province in South Africa. Thirdly, a link is drawn between culture, religion and ministerial leadership with a gender focus that produces new knowledge of the relationship between religion and culture as it manifests itself in a Venda context. The vhusadzi approach is informed by the bosadi approach of the Old Testament scholar, Madipoane Masenya, and feeds on her insights into women’s access to the interpretation of biblical texts. The vhusadzi approach takes these insights further by applying them to Vhavenda women’s access to leadership roles in the church. It opens up the future for further research, inviting African women scholars to contextualise issues related to women’s ordination. / Systematic Theology and Theological Ethics / D. Th.
