Poruchy příjmu potravy ve spojitosti s jinými diagnózami / Eating Disorders in Connection with other Diagnoses

Vavrušková, Marie January 2016 (has links)
Poruchy příjmu potravy ve spojitosti s jinými diagnózami. Eating Disorders in Connection with other Diagnoses Bc. Marie Vavrušková The aim of this thesis, which focuses on the topic "Eating Disorders in Connection with Other Diagnoses," is to introduce the different types of eating disorders that have been previously diagnosed (anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, psychogenic overeating and new forms of eating disorders), to specify the medical treatment offered to patients in the Czech Republic, and in particular to describe what other mental or somatic disorders are most commonly associated with eating disorders. The empirical part of the thesis presents a questionnaire which analyses the following aspects: type of eating disorder from which the clients of Centrum Anabell Praha suffer most frequently, where their medical treatment takes place, whether they suffer from another mental or somatic disorder associated with eating disorders, and whether eating disorders have a negative impact on their lives. The empirical part also presents a case report, which describes the life story, history and prognosis of a man who suffers from an eating disorder and other associated disorders.

VÝŽIVOVÉ ZVYKLOSTI A POHYBOVÁ AKTIVITA V SOUVISLOSTI S PORUCHAMI PŘÍJMU POTRAVY U MUŽŮ / EATING BEHAVIOUR AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES RELATED TO EATING DISORDERS IN MALE POPULATION

KOUBKOVÁ, Magda January 2009 (has links)
Eating disorders have been studied from different points of view lately. They have occured in the centre of various psychiatric and psychologic diagnostics and therapy surveys and they have also been analysed as a sociocultural element of our lifestyle norms, our values and image standards. The number of men and women suffered from these disorders cannot be neither compared nor omitted. It is statistically clear that about ten per cent of anorexics and bulimics are male patients. Going West, the number of male patients is increasing. These disorders in men are usually connected with jobs, mostly those such as jockeys, gymnasts and dancers. Bulimia and anorexia are reported as typically women disorders therefore men hardly any time concede they can suffer from this problem and need a specialist´s advice.. The aim of the work has been to map eating behaviour, a lifestyle, physical activities and risk factors responsible for eating disorder incidence such as a distorted view of the body and being on a diet among men between the ages of 15 to 30. A quantitative technique approach using questionnaires was applied. There were stated four hypotheses concerning the relation between body acceptance and physical activities, methods used for body weight control and differences in lifestyles of secondary school students.

Overeating, Obesity, and Weakness of the Will

Sommers, Jennifer Heidrun 28 August 2015 (has links)
The philosophical literature on akrasia and/or weakness of the will tends to focus on individual actions, removed from their wider socio-political context. This is problematic because actions, when removed from their wider context, can seem absurd or irrational when they may, in fact, be completely rational or, at least, coherent. Much of akrasia's apparent mystery or absurdity is eliminated when people's behaviours are considered within their cultural and political context. I apply theories from the social and behavioural sciences to a particular behaviour in order to show where the philosophical literature on akrasia and/or weakness of the will is insightful and where it is lacking. The problem used as the basis for my analysis is obesity caused by overeating. On the whole, I conclude that our intuitions about agency are unreliable, that we may have good reasons to overeat and/or neglect our health, and that willpower is, to some degree, a matter of luck. / Graduate / 0630 / 0573 / 0422 / felshereeno@aol.com
