Jagets bevingade hovslag : En biografisk och analytisk undersökning av hästfigurer iRenata Wredes fantasifulla och antropomorfa bildvärld / When Hoofs and Wings reflect the Self : A biographical and analytical examination of horses in the imaginative andanthropomorphic imagery of Renata Wrede

Payne, Helena January 2019 (has links)
This Bachelor’s Thesis introduces a previously unexplored visual artist to the field of Art history: Renata Wrede. Born in 1923 and active until her death in 1998, Renata Wrede produced a varied and colorful corpusof paintings, lithographies, drawings, sculptures, textile designs and pottery, most–but not all -of which is in the possession of her family. Herrigorous artistic training, deep engagement with her other passion –horses –and personal struggles for independence combined to create a varied style with anthropomorphizing images of -among many motifs-horses. Four of these images, taken from different periods of her life as an artist -are analyzed in this thesis paper. The focus on the analysis of the four works is the role of the horses in the picture: What do they do? How do they contribute to the composition? Why are they there? With the help of Renata Wrede’s autobiographical three books, Mitt romerska lejon (My Roman Lion), Juvelskrinet (The Jewelry Box) and Ior och hästarna (Ior and the Horses), the pictures are analyzed from the information provided by the writer and artist herself. The appendix includes a collection of Renata Wrede’s works (incomplete, but extensive) put together by the author of this thesis.

Information Extraction and Design of An Assisted QA system in Motor Design

Luo, Hongyi January 2022 (has links)
The Linz Center of Mechatronics’ SymSpace platform is designed to provide intelligent design and training for the traditional engineer training and industrial design approach in the field of motor design, which relies on the engineer’s own experience and manual work. This paper first analyzes and explores the usage patterns and possible improvement perspectives of motor design components using SymSpace user data. Then an attempt is made to summarize the motor design manual provided by LCM using a text summary model and use it for training engineers. Next, a question-and-answer system model was used to try to provide an aid system for engineers in design. The evaluation of text summaries and question and answer systems is difficult in the motor design domain because the amount of redundant textual information in this domain is small and key information is often presented in detail rather than in the main stem of the sentence. In this case, instead of evaluating the model using traditional machine scores, this paper refers to the feedback from LCM experts as future users. The final results show that, despite the problems of difficulty in explaining the reasons; the possibility of being misleading; and the loss of information details, both attempts are generally positive and the exploration in this direction is worthwhile.

Distribution List Maker Program with Inter-User Capabilities between Universities and Colleges in the Tennessee Board of Regents School System.

Anderson, Allan Richard 01 May 2001 (has links)
E-mail is an important tool for faculty and staff at the university, college, department, and instructor levels. E-mail is a useful medium in the academic setting for corresponding at all levels. Instructors e-mail students about assignments, lectures, and urgent information: for example, postponed classes and changes in the schedule. In addition e-mail is used to let potential students know about job opportunities. Other routine uses for e-mail include group communications within academic committees and groups of students collaborating on projects. Most users of e-mail who send messages to multiple recipients enter each recipients e-mail address into the TO: field individually or enter the name and e-mail address into a distribution list individually. Both methods are time consuming. This thesis describes a tool for facilitating the use of e-mail for classroom management. This tool, List Maker converts class roll listings to e-mail distribution lists for five common e-mail clients: Pegasus Mail, Eudora Lite, Netscape Messenger, Microsoft Outlook Express, and Microsoft Outlook 97/98. List Maker also converts address books and distribution lists from one e-mail client to another. The List Maker program has been adopted for use in selected departments within ETSU. A survey of the programÆs users indicates that List Maker made it easier for users to create distribution list from class rolls. Efforts to distribute List Maker to other Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) colleges, unfortunately, have not yet succeeded due to a lack of uniform computing platforms and e-mail policies in the TBR.

Functional decomposition - A contribution to overcome the parameter space explosion during validation of highly automated driving

Amersbach, Christian, Winner, Hermann 29 September 2020 (has links)
Objective: Particular testing by functional decomposition of the automated driving function can potentially contribute to reducing the effort of validating highly automated driving functions. In this study, the required size of test suites for scenario-based testing and the potential to reduce it by functional decomposition are quantified for the first time. Methods: The required size of test suites for scenario-based approval of a so-called Autobahn-Chauffeur (SAE Level 3) is analyzed for an exemplary set of scenarios. Based on studies of data from failure analyses in other domains, the possible range for the required test coverage is narrowed down and suitable discretization steps, as well as ranges for the influence parameters, are assumed. Based on those assumptions, the size of the test suites for testing the complete system is quantified. The effects that lead to a reduction in the parameter space for particular testing of the decomposed driving function are analyzed and the potential to reduce the validation effort is estimated by comparing the resulting test suite sizes for both methods. Results: The combination of all effects leads to a reduction in the test suites’ size by a factor between 20 and 130, depending on the required test coverage. This means that the size of the required test suite can be reduced by 95–99% by particular testing compared to scenario-based testing of the complete system. Conclusions: The reduction potential is a valuable contribution to overcome the parameter space explosion during the validation of highly automated driving. However, this study is based on assumptions and only a small set of exemplary scenarios. Thus, the findings have to be validated in further studies.
