Hodnocení radiační zátěže pacienta při diagnostických výkonech / Evaluation of patient radiation load due to radiodiagnostic examinations

Drobílková, Daniela January 2011 (has links)
The aim of this study is to determination of local diagnostic reference levels for radiodiagnostic examination in the General Teaching Hospital in Prague. Local diagnostic reference levels are used for an evaluation of radiation load which patients receive during medical examinations of specific parts of the human body. The evaluation can be on the level of a hospital and its department or on the level of concrete X-ray machine. The theoretical part describes a ionizing radiation, including its interaction with matter, creating, formation of radiodiagnostic image, legislation during optimization of radiodiagnostic examination, radiological protection and determination of values for radiation dose. The practical part describes the determination of local diagnostic reference levels with the help of entrance surface kerma and the median dose in the mammary gland. Both of these variables are relevant for determination of the risk of adverse effects of ionizing radiation which is applied during radiographic examination. Data for this study was collected with the help of operating diaries and PACS system. It has been rated twenty-six kinds of examinations from twelve mobile and nine stationary (including two mammographs) X-ray machines. All resulting values were statistically processed and compared with...

Rozvoj inverzních úloh vedení tepla řešených s využitím optimalizačních postupů a vysokého stupně paralelizace / Development of inverse tasks solved by using the optimizing procedures and large number of parallel threads

Ondroušková, Jana Unknown Date (has links)
In metallurgy it is important to know a cooling efficiency of a product as well as cooling efficiency of working rolls to maximize the quality of the product and to achieve the long life of working rolls. It is possible to examine this cooling efficiency by heat transfer coefficients and surface temperatures. The surface temperature is hardly measured during the cooling. It is better to compute it together with heat transfer coefficient by inverse heat conduction problem. The computation is not easy and it uses estimated values which are verified by direct heat conduction problem. The time-consuming of this task can be several days or weeks, depends on the complexity of the model. Thus there are tendencies to shorten the computational time. This doctoral thesis considers the possible way of the computing time shortening of inverse heat conduction problem, which is the parallelization of this task and its transfer to a graphic card. It has greater computing power than the central processing unit (CPU). One computer can have more compute devices. That is why the computing time on different types of devices is compared in this thesis. Next this thesis deals with obtaining of surface temperatures for the computation by infrared line scanner and using of inverse heat conduction problem for the computing of the surface temperature and heat transfer coefficient during passing of a test sample under cooling section and cooling by high pressure nozzles.

Hodnocení radiační zátěže pacientů a možnost vzniku a řešení radiačních mimořádných událostí na oddělení nukleární medicíny Nemocnice České Budějovice, a.s. / The evaluation of radiation burden of patients and the possibility of radiation emergence and management of emergencies at the nuclear medicine department of the Hospital České Budějovice, PLC

DAŇOVÁ, Kristína January 2019 (has links)
The aim of my thesis was to evaluate radiation consequences in patients, and to evaluate unusual occurrences stemming from radiation at the department of nuclear medicine in hospital Ceske Budejovice. In the theory part, I worked with professional literature, applicable laws and internal documentation provided by the department of nuclear medicine in hospital Ceske Budejovice Plc The thesis reacted to the need of the department of nuclear medicine (dept. NM) in hospital Ceske Budejovice to evaluate the optimisation of doses for the patients and set local diagnostic levels. Different organisations worldwide deal with the question of optimising radiation protection, and their recommendations and standards are used in the Czech Republic. For this purpose, it is necessary to know the real activity of radiopharmaceuticals applied in each examination and to conduct a forecast resulting in effective doses also based on CT scans. The thesis also evaluates the occurrence of special radiation events really experienced at the department of NM (nuclear medicine) in the hospital mentioned above, the reasons for these events happening and precautions preventing them from happening in future. The owner of the permission for this activity, meaning the use of the source of ionizing radiation, has the duty to keep all documentation and paperwork in accordance with the law regulating nuclear power, abide by the rules of good practices and the real state of allowed practice. The occurrence of unusual events is closely connected with the documentation - internal emergency plan and monitoring program. (Law 263/2016) Therefore, it was recommended to compare these to the actual state and to review them based on the facts found. The values of applied activities and effective doses found were compared to the values published in the last report from UNSCEAR in 2016 and national referential values published in the bill about radiation protection no 422/ 2016. All results were inputted into tables and graphs. It was found that the applied activities at the department of NM in hospital Ceske Budejovice are in agreement with the values presented in UNSCEAR report and that they are lower than the national referential levels, which shows that there is optimised state of radiation protection for patients. The occurrence of concrete unusual radiation events at the department of NM in hospital Ceske Budejovice and their analysis revealed certain shortcomings in the process and the absence of security elements needed while holding radioactive liquid waste in storage at the hospital. It was necessary to find and implement such precautions, which will prevent similar type of events in future. The thesis will be handed in to the person tending to the radiation protection for the use of evaluation and providing the protection at the department of NM at the hospital Ceske Budejovice and to enable the documentation to be completed for the allowed activity.

Dozimetrické stanovení radiační zátěže pacienta a personálu při diagnostických a intervenčních endovaskulárních výkonech na DSA pracovišti ÚVN, krizový plán pro případ vzniku mimořádné události / Dosimetric determination of radiation exposure of patients and personnel during diagnostic and interventional endovascular procedures at the DSA department of UVN, recovery plan for a potential extraordinary event

KRAHULA, Ondřej January 2007 (has links)
Intervention radiology is a discipline that is achieving a great advancement due to its significant success in the treatment of various diseases. Also, it relates to the increase of the number of angiographic performances in the last years. The extension of radiological methods has increased the share of this discipline on the overall medical irradiation of the population. All angiographic performances are accompanied by certain risk related to the exposure of the patient and staff to the ionizing radiation. Several cases were reported where the surface doses were reaching the limits of deterministic effects of radiation in some types of examination. This study monitors three core criteria related to the radiation burden in the set of 141 patients, which have undertaken different endovascular interventions. These criteria are: the dose area product (DAP), surface dose, and effective dosage. The relevant criterion was the value of DAP, read from the DAP meter directly during the examination. Other data were calculated. On basis of these results, this study tries to determine the strenuousness of singular examinations from the point of the radiation burden. It is the understanding the principles of the influencing the patient{\crq}s burden of the radiation in angiographic examinations, what can help in reducing the dosages. The analysis of this study results can help to prevent the occurrence of abnormal events during the examination.

Změny elektronické struktury bimetalických systémů při interakci s molekulami plynu / Electronic structure of bimetallic systems - study of gas molecule interaction

Píš, Igor January 2013 (has links)
Bimetallic Rh-V system was studied by means of surface science experimental methods. Properties of ultra-thin Rh-V layers supported by γ-Al2O3 were compared with model systems prepared by vacuum V deposition on Rh(111), Rh(110) and polycrystalline rhodium. Formation of ordered V- Rh(111)-(2×2), V-Rh(110)-(2×1) and V-Rh(110)-(1×2) subsurface alloys and their electronic and atomic structure were investigated and models of the surface reconstructions were proposed. Influence of the subsurface alloy formation on interaction with CO and O2 molecules as well as the influence of the molecule adsorption on this alloy was investigated. The bond between CO molecules and Rh-V alloy surface was weakened due to pronounced changes in surface valence band structure. Oxygen which adsorbed on the alloy surface reacted with the subsurface vanadium at elevated temperature and blocked the interaction of the metal substrate with CO molecules.

Exprese CD47 a jeho topologie na povrchu primárních buněk karcinomu močového měchýře při interakci s makrofágy / Exprese CD47 a jeho topologie na povrchu primárních buněk karcinomu močového měchýře při interakci s makrofágy

Rajtmajerová, Marie January 2018 (has links)
CD47 is a so-called "don't eat me" signal, which protects cells from phagocytosis. Its high expresion on tumor cells brings new perspective to the tumor therapy. Monoclonal antibodies, which are these days undergoing clinical trials, prevent CD47 binding to the SIRPA inhibitory receptor on macrophages, and so they enhance their phagocytic functional capacity. In this way they enable phagocytic removal of tumor cells. Overall expression, structural conformation and stoichiometry of CD47 on a particular cell predestine whether it will be phagocytised. The aim of the thesis is to develop and test methods to characterise expression parameters of CD47 via flow cytometry (FCM), quantitative PCR (qPCR) and microscopy. To achieve this goal I performed competition tests of commercially available antibodies in order to characterise their binding epitopes on cell lines. After performing tSNE analysis of primary BCa patient samples I correlated CD47 expression with other cell surface markers. I focused on CD47 expression in various differentiation stages of the tumor. To better understand the relationship between CD47 expression and differentiation status of cells I performed qPCR analysis of particular transcription factors. Using cell lines I examined method for phagocytosis quantification, which will be...
