Arlequín y Polichinela, Valle Inclán y García Lorca : estudio comparativo, histórico y literario sobre la commedia dell’arte y los títeres

Avila Hesles, Gerardo January 1985 (has links)
The popularity of commercial theatre such as the "melodrama" and the "género chico" presented a barrier to new and experimental theatre at the turn of the twentieth century in Spain. Foremost among the dramatists who attempted to overcome such obstacle were Ramón del Valle Inclán and Federico García Lorca whose early productions were based on commedia dell' arte, puppetry, and generally in popular traditional theatre. The first part of this study (written in Spanish) explores the origins and development of Harlequin in the Italian commedia and traces his presence in the Spanish Renaissance using the work of Cervantes as an example. The historical background of Harlequin is indispensable in understanding Valle Inclán's attitudes towards the commedia. Harlequin is the central figure in his play La Marquesa Rosalinda first performed in 1912. Valle Inclán uses names found in Cervantes's works and through metaphores, sets out to explain the canons of commedia dell' arte that was the heart and pulse of popular theatre in the Renaissance. This thesis examines the height and decline of the commedia in the eighteenth century and includes a study of La Marquesa Rosalinda in terms of its indebitness to the commedia on one hand and Valle Inclán's original development on the other. The second half of this study deals with two works of García Lorca that involve his character Don Cristóbal Polichinela. Don Cristóbal, based on the popular Spanish puppet of the same name, has been inspired by the masked Punchinello of the seventeenth century commedia. A historical and literary appraisal is used to trace the most important characteristics of Punchinello including his transformation from a man into a puppet. Particular emphasis is placed upon the presence of this puppet in Spain, its connection to Harlequin, and the utilization of Punchinello by García Lorca. To conclude this thesis, a comparative study based on the two zanies, Harlequin and Punchinello, enlightens the reasons and motives for the use of puppets and puppets-like characters in the works of Valle Inclán and García Lorca. / Arts, Faculty of / French, Hispanic, and Italian Studies, Department of / Graduate

Material Properties from Miniature Punch Test and Finite Element Analysis

Dai, Daniel 03 1900 (has links)
The Punch test provides a technique for the determination of material properties from small specimens. Using the rectangular specimen, the test can be used to control the orientation of the cracking plane which was not possible in the ball punch on a circular disk design. A three dimensional quarter finite element model was formulated to simulate the punch test for 150°C and 300°C tests performed on So8 steel. The comparison of predicted and measured load-deflection and stress-strain curves showed good agreement between FE model and tests. A user interface, which allows for routine application, with the necessary postprocessing capabilities was developed and tested for the purpose of simulating miniature punch tests and estimating stress-strain data from measured load curves. / Thesis / Master of Applied Science (MASc)

Skirtingų treniravimo priemonių poveikis smūgio jėgai / The influence of different training measures on punch impact

Žėkas, Raimondas 10 September 2013 (has links)
Darbo objektas – skirtingų treniravimo priemonių poveikis smūgio jėgai. Hipotezė – manome, kad skirtingos treniravimo priemonės duos teigiamą poveikį smūgio jėgai, didžiausią poveikį – atsispaudimai su suplojimu. Darbo tikslas – nustatyti skirtingų treniravimo priemonių poveikį smūgio jėgai. Darbo uždaviniai: 1. Nustatyti vienkartinių smūgių jėgą į bokso maišą dominuojančia ir nedominuojančia ranka. 2. Nustatyti ir palyginti skirtingų jėgos treniravimo priemonių efektyvumą smūgio jėgai. Išvados: 1. Didžiausia smūgio jėga nustatyta kontrolinėje tiriamųjų grupėje, o mažiausia pirmos, antros ir trečios grupės tiriamųjų, kurie tyrimo metu ją lavino kimštiniu kamuoliu, elastine guma ar svarmenų pagalba. 2. / Object of the work – the influence of different training measures on punch impact. Hypothesis – we think that different training measures will have a positive influence on punch impact, and the biggest influence will be done by the clapping push-ups off the ground. Aim of the work – to determine the influence of different training measures on punch impact. Objectives: 1. To determine the impact of single punches into the boxing bag with dominant and non-dominant hand. 2. To determine and compare the efficiency of different training measures of punch impact. Conclusions: 1. The maximum punch impact during the research was determined in the research group that did not apply any measures, and the minimum punch impact was determined in the group that developed it during the experiment by using stuffed ball, elastic rubber or weights. 2. The experiment revealed that the most effective way to exercise punch impact was the one with the stuffed ball and weights. The training measures with elastic rubber and clapping push-ups off the ground applied to develop punch impact were not effective and unch impact during the experiment did not improve.

An Inverse Finite Element Analysis and A Parametric Study of Small Punch Tests

Xu, Zhenzhen 2011 December 1900 (has links)
Small punch test (SPT) has been widely used to evaluate in-service materials in nuclear fusion facilities. Early use of SPTs is largely based on empirical relations or curve fitting from experimental data, while recent applications of SPTs take advantage of finite element methods. In this study, an improved inverse finite element analysis procedure is proposed to obtain constitutive relations from load-displacement curves recorded in SPTs. In addition, a parametric study is performed to evaluate the effects of SPT parameters including friction coefficient, punch head diameter, sample thickness, specimen scale and boundary conditions. The proposed inverse finite element (FE) method improves the accuracy of existing inverse FE methods, and the current parametric study provides a basis for the standardization of SPT procedures in the future.

Kinematické a dynamické charakteristiky přímých úderů u elitních boxerů / Kinematic and dynamic characteristics of straight punches in elite male boxers

Pádecký, Jan January 2020 (has links)
Title: Kinematic and dynamic characteristics of straight punches in elite male boxers Objectives: The purpose of this study was to quantify lower limb forces in the x, y, and z directions and their association with jab and cross relative peak force, and jab and cross peak velocity. Methods: A sample of 12 elite male subjects participated in the present study, which took place over two days. Subjects were familiarized with the procedures during the first day. During the second day, the subjects performed a standardized warm-up protocol, followed by one straight punch with the rear and then the lead hand to a force plate that was suspended in the air at the chin level by a cable system. The subjects were standing on two separate tri-axial force plates. Punch velocity was assessed using a Qualisys Motion Tracking Manager, where the marker used was placed in the middle of 12 OZ gloves. Results: Subject body weight resulted in a high positive significant correlation with jab and cross peak force, and a non-significant low and moderate positive correlation with jab and cross peak velocity, respectively. Partial correlation controlling for bodyweight resulted in a very high positive significant correlation between jab peak velocity and jab peak force and a high positive, but the non-significant...

A 3D Fold-Up Non-Classical Unipolar CMOS and Its Mechanism

Kuo, Chih-hao 30 July 2010 (has links)
In this thesis, we propose a three-dimensional (3D) fold-up non-classical unipolar complementary metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor (CMOS-FET) structure and its operation mechanism. We utilize a NMOS transistor having punch-through effect and a classical NMOS to realize our proposed CMOS circuit. In our proposed CMOS circuit, both driver and load transistors are based on the n-channel MOS (NMOS) structures, so, in this unipolar CMOS, the carrier used is the electron only. Hence, the delay time can be improved by 14% when compared with the conventional CMOS. Moreover, the p-channel MOS (PMOS) transistor can be eliminated in our proposed CMOS circuit. Thus, we do not need the traditional N-well technique and we also use the 3D device architecture to drastically reduce the total device area more than 69%, in comparison to a conventional CMOS. If our proposed CMOS architecture is implemented in the VLSI circuits, the packing density can be increased and the device fabrication cost can also be reduced significantly. Therefore, our proposed 3D fold-up non-classical single-carrier CMOS-FET can achieve three important requirements as follows: 1) area reduction, 2) enhanced speed, and 3) decrease cost in the system fabrication.

Simulation and Fabrication of a Non-Classical Unipolar CMOS with Embedded Oxide

Sun, Chih-hung 30 July 2010 (has links)
In this paper, we propose a novel Unipolar CMOS device in which the transport carriers are electron only. And we achieve good inverter output waveform and logic circuit applications by simulation. Duo to all n-channel (NMOS) structures are used, we call this proposed CMOS as a Unipolar CMOS. A new basic theory of utilizing the punch through effect is demonstrated to enhance the tPLH in our proposed Unipolar CMOS. The average delay time compared with the classical CMOS circuit can be improved 23% for high-performance applications. For our proposed Unipolar CMOS, all n-channel MOS are used to eliminate the N- and P-well processes and ignore the difference between the carrier mobility. In addition, the common electrodes are also exploited, hence, the layout area can be reduced to about 75%, which leads to significantly increase the packing density of CMOS circuits in the same chip.
