Läsprojekt, hur och varför? : Politiskt motiverade arbetssätt i Kultur i Västs läsfrämjande projekt

Berlin, Frida January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this bachelor´s thesis is to examine the motivational factors for project management as a method for the regional library Kultur i Väst in Sweden, using qualitative content analysis and New Public Management (NPM) as the theoretical framework.. It was performed on eight applications for Kulturrådet from 2010 to 2015. The theoretical framework is based on New Public Management theory and a schematic for the analysis was constructed from several scientists established characteristics of NPM. The results showed that Kultur i Väst primary focus has been intercommunication and united action. Many of the projects were also focused on establishing a network between libraries and methods for collective marketing. These work proceedings correlated with established traits in NPM such as standardization and greater focus on reporting and evaluation. Three different reasons for this correlation were discussed. User demand, standardization and legitimation were all found to have implied or outright stated to be the motivational factor in the projects. The study came to the conclusion that the similarities between how Kulturrådet formulates demands on regional libraries and how Kultur i Väst plan and motivate their own strategies supports the idea of a connection between NPM and project as a method for regional libraries.

Marknadsföring av folkbibliotek : om fyra folkbibliotek i Kalmar län på väg mot visionen att bli Sveriges bästa biblioteksregion år 2010 / Marketing of Public Libraries : about four public libraries in the County of Kalmar on their way to be the best Region of Libraries in Sweden in the year of 2010

Eriksson, Lil, Lindqvist, Annette January 2005 (has links)
The aim of this Bachelor´s thesis is to describe the phenomenon ofmarketing. Four public libraries in the County of Kalmar have beenstudied in the aim to obtain information on their current marketingin the autumn of 2004, as well as their view of marketing and itssignification in connection to a vision that the Regional Library inKalmar has established. The vision is that the County of Kalmar isgoing to be the best Region of Libraries in Sweden in the year of2010. Target markets for the vision is the general public, studentsand entrepreneurs. The study has done a landing at an early stage ofthe vision, the starting point of which was in the year of 2001. Themethod used has consisted of interviews with four chief librariansof public libraries, and also an interview with the Chief of theRegional Library in Kalmar. The results of the study have shownthat these public libraries do not use any marketing planning. Therefore they lack a complete grasp of their marketing. Even themarketing of the vision lacks marketing planning. This results in agap between the management and the library personnel. Among thekey questions has been how to measure “best” and also if the librariesare ready to meet the needs of the entrepreneurs, a totally newtarget market for these public libraries. Until the time of our study, the chief librarians have been quite content with the marketing ofthe vision to the politicians, but displeased with the marketing tothe library personnel. / Uppsatsnivå: C

”Jag tror inte att man lättvindigt lägger ner bibliotek någonstans” : Regionala perspektiv på samverkan, tillgänglighet och biblioteken som mötesplats i ett förändrat landskap

Vedin, Sara January 2020 (has links)
In Sweden, the libraries are an establishment with high trust. The library constitutes a meeting place where many activities take place, not just reading-promoting activities. Despite this, a development is seen where libraries are closing. This study examines various advantages and challenges for libraries in terms of three perspectives that are often discussed in urban and spatial planning: collaboration, accessibility and meeting places. The purpose of this study is to investigate the libraries’ conditions from a regional perspective and understand how these are developed in a changing society. In the study, representatives from six regional libraries were interviewed. The results show that libraries in both smaller and larger municipalities have challenges and advantages, although they may look different. Closures are not always evil, accessibility can extend beyond the physical sphere and new groups in society seek to libraries, which increases the importance of meeting places. Political changes can also lead to conflicts between political will and legislation.

The regional libraries and Video-games : An overview of Video-games in a Swedish regional library context

Cloud, Angelica, Wells, Christian January 2018 (has links)
In this study our goal is to put together an overview of how the Swedish regional libraries view and work with Video games. We have chosen 5 analytic themes that were constructed by Olle Bergand and Thomas Nyström in their work that was published in 2008. These themes are as followed; Culture, User Orientation, Entertainment, Learning and Social Aspects. With these 5 themes we created an inquiry of questions related to the different parts of subjects. Our questions oversee several areas within our subject, such as competence about Video games and whether the librarians and the staff deem they have enough knowledge surrounding Video games as more than just a type of media. We also explore if the regional libraries view Video games as more than just entertainment, or if they see other uses and aspects for the media. In our inquiry we also determine whether they have or are currently working with projects related to Video games. With this inquiry we create an overview about how Video games are perceived and used in a regional perspective.

”Det vidgar ens värld” : En studie av samverkan mellan Biblioteken i Halmstad, Regionbibliotek Halland och Logopedimottagningen i Halland / ”It broadens one’s world” : A study of collaboration between Biblioteken i Halmstad, Regionbiblioteket Halland and Logopedimottagningen i Halland

Hamp, Anna Maja January 2022 (has links)
Studies have shown that early literacy is important for both language development and literacy later in life. One of the missions for public libraries in Sweden is to promote language and literacy amongst children, something they often do in collaboration with other professions who also work close to these children.  The aim of this study is to explore the collaboration between two library departments and a speech therapists’ clinic.  With a theoretical framework of theory of professions and collaboration theory, semi structured interviews with four respondents, three librarians and one speech therapist, and a document analysis of the organizations governing documents was conducted. A qualitative content analysis was then used to analyze the material, with the research questions and theoretical framework in mind. The study showed that the collaboration between the professions and their departments was longstanding and is active on several levels today. Thanks to a supportive management and anchoring in governing documents, the collaboration is given room in the daily work. All respondents expressed themselves positively about the collaboration and the possibility of learning from each other and work together to reach a goal they cannot reach on their own. They are aware of what the difficulties with their collaboration are and have learned to compromise and work around it.
