[en] CHURCH, SACRAMENT OF SALVATION: THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY AS WITNESS AND CONTINUATOR OF THE SALVATION OF CHRIST IN THE WORLD / [pt] IGREJA, SACRAMENTO DE SALVAÇÃO: A COMUNIDADE CRISTÃ COMO TESTEMUNHA E CONTINUADORA DA SALVAÇÃO DE CRISTO NO MUNDO

FELIPE DA SILVA BRAGA 22 September 2008 (has links)
[en] All Christian Revelation is essentially sacramental.

Bergman, Kerstin January 2005 (has links)

Archbishop KG Hammar has attracted attention for his liberal position in theology. His view on the role of language and communication is central in several books and articles he has published as leader of the Church of Sweden. One of his main theses is the fact that meaning is created in the encounter between text and reader. He often reiterates: God is relation. This non-traditional dynamic stance has a broad impact not only on theology. It also affects the view of church formation and leadership as well as bible interpretation and the concept of sacramentality. The paper traces the pervasive consequence in this thinking.

A relevant liturgy for the Reformed Churches in Synod Midlands / Rantoa Simon Letšosa

Letšosa, Rantoa Simon January 2005 (has links)
One of the most important yet most undermined aspects of the Reformed Churches in the resort of Synod Midlands is its liturgy. Little study has been done on liturgy and few Church Councils make liturgy their concern. Consequently most of the Reformed Churches in Midlands are faced with the problem of syncretism, secularism and modernistic trends in the liturgy. All human beings are religious people. All humans beings are believers yet it depends whom and how people worship and in whom or what they believe. People have different cultures and in some instances, as is the case with the African religion, culture and religion are not easily separated. Liturgy has an indispensable task in transforming culture. This study aims at scrutinising the manner of worship in Reformed Churches in Synod Midlands. It is divided into three sections. The first section focuses on basic-theoretical principles, the second on meta-theoretical guidelines and empirical findings and the third on a critical-hermeneutical interaction between the basis-theoretical principles and the meta-theoretical guidelines. This study indicates that the Reformed Churches in Synod Midlands need a relevant liturgy that is suitable for the African members but also a liturgy that is not easily influenced by culture and by the world. Liturgy has to shape culture and culture has to be accommodated in the shape that liturgy takes. This does not occur at the same level. The gospel preaches to culture and leads it to repentance. The sermon, however, is presented within a certain culture, context and language. This is where culture fits in and contributes to the shaping of the liturgy. A relevant liturgy for the Reformed Churches in Synod Midlands would be a dynamic liturgy that displays an interactive communicative character. There has to be a dialogue between God and His children. The liturgist should not be an individual standing between God and humans, blocking the dialogue-related character of the liturgy. All members have to be participative and should follow the liturgy. This study therefore calls upon a free liturgy because African people are spontaneous. However this liturgy should also be characterized by the necessary order. / Thesis (Ph.D. (Liturgics))--North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2005.

Vývoj přípravy dětí na přijetí eucharistie a svátosti smíření / Development of the Preparation of Children for Reception of the Sacrament of Eucharist and the Sacrament of Penance

BRYCHTOVÁ, Kateřina January 2007 (has links)
The dissertation describes development of the preparation of children for reception of the first Communion and the first confession. In particular time periods of our history the church passed its teaching and faith on in a lot of various ways. The first Christians educated the newcomers in catechism. In the Middle Ages begins the development of catechesis and primarily of preaching, which should educate both children and adults. There isn{\crq}t still much time devoted to children and their preparations for reception of the sacraments; children cannot receive the sacrament until they reach an older age. Change in a bestowal of the sacraments is brought by a decree Quam singulari promulgated in 1910 by Pius X. It{\crq}s a decree on the age at which children are to be admitted to first Communion and it still influences the pursuance of preparing the new communicants for the reception of the sacraments. In my work I described, with the help of an available literature, the course of the preparations of the new communicants from the promulgation of the decree until now. I am also stating the methodic materials used by those, who lead those preparations.

The following research attempted to present the different representations of indian salvation from the analysis of the sacrament of penitence in different moments of what is known as the spiritual conquest of Spanish America. This work compares the European utopian discourse that believed in the complete conversion of the indigenous population to Catholicism, particularly in the initial years of the evangelizing, to the narrative produced in the second half of the 16th and beginning of the 17th century where we can clearly see a disbelief in the success of the missionary campaign / Mestrado / Historia Cultural / Mestre em História

The Brotherhood of the Blessed Sacrament of the Church of Our Lady of Pilar of Ouro Preto, in the eighteenth century, was a religious school of lay people which, like the other coeval associations, should: administer the sacraments to the brothers, fulfill the details pertaining to the "good death", assist the brothers in poverty and illness, and perform the festivities registered in their liturgical calendar, Corpus Christi and the Holy Week. As a special feature, the construction of the parish church and administration of the Viaticum to the dying would be their responsibility to the local community in general. From the documentation bequeathed by the association and its members, this research seeks to understand the operation of the association, its organizational structure and the profiles of its brothers. Therefore, this thesis is divided into two parts: in the first part, it tries to describe how the Brotherhood of the Blessed Sacrament of Ouro Preto worked, based on its compromisso (statute), the internal regulations of the institution, besides analyzing the statutes of similar associations in the captaincy of Minas Gerais, in order to establish a comparative analysis of the operations of the brotherhood in different locations. The documents issued by the board of the brotherhood, which are decisions made on different topics, such as the construction and the improvements of the parish church, the festivities, the reforms of the statutes, among others, were also used. Besides that, the documentation issued by other institutions with matters relating to the Blessed Brotherhoods were analyzed in an attempt to identify which were the main demands of these institutions in the villages where they were installed, such as the requests made to the town council and the representations submitted to the Overseas Council in Lisbon. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to meeting the socioeconomic profile of members of the Brotherhood of the Blessed Sacrament of Ouro Preto, trying to understand and demonstrate how social networks were established inside the Brotherhood and also beyond it, based on the documentation related to the brothers of the Blessed Sacrament themselves. In order to analyze the history of the Brothers of the Sacrament in Vila Rica, the names of those who exercised official positions in the board were listed firstly, as follows: provider, clerk, treasurer and procurator; in addition to the names of the keepers of the basin, the people responsible for the public collection. 342 brothers were listed throughout the eighteenth century. From this list, information on documentary funds of various types was sought; funds such as: the requirements and petitions found in the Arquivo Histórico Ultramarino/ Minas Gerais (CDRom Projeto Resgate); inventories and wills, in the Arquivo Casa do Pilar – Museu da Inconfidência (Ouro Preto/ MG); Registro Geral de Mercês, Habilitações do Santo Ofício and Habilitações da Ordem de Cristo, in the Arquivo Nacional da Torre do Tombo (Lisboa/ Portugal).

Youth ministry and leadership in the world evangelical mission international (South Africa) : an inclusive ministry approach

Yi, Hyunok January 2013 (has links)
This dissertation begins with the problem that local church leaders, Sunday school teachers and adult youth leaders do not have a holistic understanding of what youth ministry is or how to start with youth ministry. And there is a wide gap between adults and the youth because they do not have enough information about today’s youth. Youth ministry has been viewed as something separate from the main church. But the inclusive congregational approach is that youth ministry is part of a comprehensive congregational ministry with a differentiated and focused way, to, with and through youth as an integral part of the church. This dissertation looks into the literature on theories of child development, today’s youth, family, mentoring, and confirmation to understand youth in the church. Church leaders and teachers need enough information about the youth and must be aware of the youth’s developmental needs. Especially church leaders and teachers must work with the parents of the youth to focus on strong Christian education to connect the generations. They have to respond to the youth’s crucial questions and issues of today. Then the youth can find what God intends them to become. This research focused on 73 church leaders and teachers in 11 WEMI (World Evangelical Mission International) churches in South Africa. A high percentage of the respondents understood the concept of youth ministry. But their main problem or difficulty remained the lack of training to understand youth and the biblical text. The results of empirical research presented the actual condition of youth ministry in WEMI churches in South Africa. The churches have to prepare intentional and strategic training for teachers to get enough information about today’s youth, teaching and communication skill, leadership development, counselling and knowledge of the Bible. When the church leaders and teachers are equipped and trained for God’s work, the youth ministry will be built up strongly in the local church, and the youth will find themselves as the body of Christ. / Dissertation (MA Theol)--University of Pretoria, 2013. / gm2014 / Practical Theology / unrestricted

[pt] OS SACRAMENTOS COMO CONTINUAÇÃO DOS ATOS DE CRISTO NA IGREJA / [en] THE SACRAMENTS AS A CONTINUATION OF THE ACTS OF CHRIST IN THE CHURCH

05 June 2017 (has links)
[en] It has been possible to rediscover a more biblical, ecclesial and prophetic concept of the sacraments celebrated by the Church through the dialogue promoted by the Liturgical Movement and the Second Vatican Council, between exegesis, patristics and dogmatic theology. The sacraments, in light of the conciliar thought, have been approached by theology as acts of Christ himself, and they have continued in the life of his Church. The guiding thread of our research is the deep relationship that exists between the theology of prophets symbolic actions and those of Jesus, which are extended to the liturgical celebrations of the Christian community and in the lived witness of the baptized. Through these celebrations, those who believe are inserted into the life of the Risen One and they are called to prolong in their own lives the words and actions of Christ. In this way, the ones who have faith become aware of exercising the prophetic ministry entrusted to them by baptism. The understanding of the sacraments as prophetic actions is able to revealing to the Church the prophetic mission that it is called to practice in the world of today, as well as its condition as the sacrament of Christ for the salvation of all men.
