Abstract Swedish tuition for immigrants (SFI) is a public adult education program in Sweden that was created in order to provide the immigrants with basic skills in Swedish. People with different backgrounds speaking different languages learn together how they should communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing. For those who teach SFI it is important to know which factors have positive effects on the Swedish language acquisition. One of the questions to be asked is if the learning materials´ genre has any effect on the SFI students´ proficiency, in particular, oral proficiency. Scientists as von Franz, Vygotskiy and Bettelheim argued that fairy tales, as a genre consciously or subconsciously recognizable by all the people, present texts that are easy to acqiure. The purpose of this study was to investigate if the students´ oral output would show a better use of the Swedish grammar having been learned if the text to be retell is a fairy tale. Ten SFI intermediate students retelled a fairy tale, a short novel and a text based on facts. Three grammar features were tested. The results show that the fairy tale as a genre did not improve the learners oral output concerning morphology and syntax, but did improve their word order. In general, the results show that a choice of genre does have effects on the grammar acquisition of the learners of Swedish, which can be futher researched and used in teaching practice.   Key words: fairy tale, genre, grammar, learning, oral proficiency, second language acquisition

Bakgrund: Anledningen till att vi valde barnboken som utgångspunkt för denna uppsats var att vi båda har ett stort intresse av den. Vi har även erfarenhet av att arbeta med barnboken i barngrupper och sett hur den kan engagera barn. Därför ville vi ta reda på hur den används av pedagoger i förskolan eftersom vi upplever att det är mycket som tar barnens tid, bland annat surfplattor och datorer. Syfte Syftet med denna studie var att ta reda på hur pedagoger arbetade med barnboken i sin verksamhet på förskolan. Vi ville se om de använde den i sitt arbete med att ge barnen en skriftspråksstimulerande miljö samt vid det sociala samspelet. Metod: Vi valde att göra en kvalitativ studie med intervju som metod. Därför har vi intervjuat åtta pedagoger om hur de använder sig av barnboken i den dagliga verksamheten. Intervjufrågorna var kopplade till våra fyra frågeställningar som innefattar verksamheten, läroplanen, skriftspråksutvecklingen och det sociala samspelet. Studien har vi gjort på fem olika förskolor i en medelstor stad i västra Sverige. Resultat: De resultat vi fått har vi jämfört med tidigare forskning och kommit fram till att mycket överensstämmer med den. Pedagogerna använder barnboken aktivt och på olika sätt i den dagliga verksamheten. Den används även som en lugnande och samlande aktivitet under dagen. Samtliga pedagoger i vår studie framhåller barnbokens betydelse för språkutvecklingen. När det gällde läroplansmålen var pedagogerna framför allt medvetna om de språkliga och kommunikativa delarna. Det visade sig även att barnboken användes i stor utsträckning i sociala sammanhang. Det handlade om samspel mellan barn och pedagog, men även barn emellan. Barnboken användes även för att diskutera och bearbeta relationer och känslor.

The purpose of the thesis is to analyze the properties of acoustic sound field in the Sizihwan Bay Marine Test Field (SBMTF), and to conduct geoacoustic inversion using the measured data. Two experiments were carried out during February, 2009, and March, 2010. The source was UW350, and the receivers were ITC 6050 hydrophones. The transmitted frequencies lie between 350 Hz and 1250 Hz. On the analysis of acoustic propagation, the study calls for the application of OASES for the analysis of transmission loss and effects of range dependency. Moreover, the uncertainty analysis due to environmental factors was carried out based upon probabilistic approach. For the inversion analysis, the sensitivity of each environmental parameter was first analyzed, and those parameters with high sensitivity were chosen for inversion. Inversion was conducted by the application of SAGA. The results have shown that, due to the fact that the SBMTF is an very shallow water environment with water depth less than 30 m, the acoustic sound field is strongly affected by the boundaries. From the uncertainty analysis, it shows that the transmission loss has high degree of uncertainty resulting from seabed property due to its lack of accurate measurement. The inversion results for water depth and seabed sound speed were obtained, and compared with the measured data. This research calls for experimental design, data processing, software application, and result analysis, offering an overall understanding of the properties of SBMTF that is valuable for future study.

Although Gabrielle Roy worked sporadically on La Saga d'Eveline between 1945 and 1965, she never finished the novel and it remains unpublished to this day. All that remain of the novel are a few manuscripts totalling some thousand pages conserved in her personal archives at the National Library of Canada. The manuscripts contain several versions of a story based on an episode taken from the history of the maternal side of Roy's family: the family's migration from Quebec to Manitoba at the end of the XIXth century. It revolves around Eveline, a character who already appears in the published works and who was essentially inspired by the author's mother, Melina Landry. This novel not only adds a new episode to the fictionalized story of the family, it reveals lesser known aspects of Gabrielle Roy's writing and thinking, notably her thoughts on the feminine condition. This thesis consists of a critical edition of two of the six versions we have identified. A fairly complete story, which includes the latest and the most perfected texts, is thus obtained. The text is annotated and accompanied by a section entitled "Reecritures et notes critiques" [Rewritings and critical notes]. A three-part essay presenting the novel ("Presentation de La Saga d' Eveline") precedes it. In the first part, "Situation de La Saga d'Eveline", after giving a general outline of the projected work, we discuss problems in dating raised by the manuscripts, establish links between La Saga d' Eveline and the published works, and suggest a few possible areas of further research. The next part, "Les manuscrits de La Saga d'Eveline", includes a presentation of the material as well as the textual aspects of the manuscripts, some hypotheses regarding dates, a proposal on how the manuscripts should be classified and a discussion of the unfinished character of the work. Finally, in "Edition de La Saga d'Eveline", we examine the methodological issues involved in editing an unfinished and unpublished novel

<p>Syftet med uppsatsen är att medvetandegöra och reflektera över de olika stegen i den kreativa processen att skriva en saga. Jag ville undersöka om jag kan skriva en saga och hur. Det är till stor del ett konstnärligt arbete där jag först skrivit en saga. Därefter läste jag upp den för ett antal förskolebarn som responderade med att rita bilder ur sagan. Jag valde att använda en självetnografisk metod. Dag för dag har jag dokumenterat förloppet med loggboksanteckningar, sammanställt dem och utarbetat en graf för att åskådliggöra den skapande processen. Resultatet sammanfattades i tre delar som visade sig stämma överens med skrivprocessens stadier. Slutsatsen blev att jag kan skriva en saga, blivit medveten om hur jag gått tillväga och framförallt hur processen sett ut.</p><p>Beskrivning: The purpose of this study is to make aware of and reflect on the different steps of the creative process in writing a tale. Examine if I can write a tale and in what way. It is mainly an artistic work where I first wrote the story. Afterwards I read it to a number of preschool children who responded in painting pictures out of the tale. I chose to use a self-ethnographic method. Day by day I’ve documented the course of events in a logbook, compiled and presented a graph with the intention to visualize the workflow. The result was put together in three parts that agreed to the stages of the creative process. I came to the conclusion that I can write a tale, I’ve become aware of my method of writing and foremost the development of the process.</p>

<p>Detta arbete syftar till att undersöka hur Landet Längesen har omsatts i praktiken i de tidiga skolåren och vad lärare och elever anser om att arbeta med Landet Längesen. Fem frågeställningar förtydligar syftet: Vad berättar lärare om hur de omsatt de pedagogiska idéerna i Landet Längesen? Vad berättar lärare om hur de omsatt materialets olika delar? Vad anser lärarna att det finns för fördelar och nackdelar/svårigheter med Landet Längesen? Hur tycker elever att det är att arbeta med Landet Längesen? Vilka krav anser lärare att Landet Längesen ställer på lärare och elever? Arbetet omfattar kvalitativa intervjuer med fyra lärare och en enkätundersökning med totalt 27 elever. Vår studie visar att lärarna omsatt de pedagogiska idéerna som Landet Längesen bygger på och att de har använt sig av det tillhörande materialet. Resultatet lyfter även likheter och skillnader i omsättningen av Landet Längesen. En slutsats är att lärarna är positiva till arbetet med Landet Längesen och att det råder olika åsikter hos eleverna.</p>
