The affirmative politics aims the improvement of the teaching quality, the raising of the population's school level and the reduction of the social differences concerning the children's access and successful maintenance in the public education. Considering the local politics, the teaching systems are capable and free to build their plan of enlargement and to motivate the democratization of debates involving all the society segments. Facing this scenery, this work, carried out in 2008, aimed to understand the issues involving the implementation of local political actions, through the enlargement of the compulsory Primary School, in the municipal school net of Araraquara-SP. The family context was the object of this investigation, focusing on the impacts of this action on parents' expectations and strategies concerning their children's early school process. The theoretical reference adopted is related to Bourdieu's concepts of economic, cultural, social and symbolic capital and social space and field, which allow understanding the families' several attitudes facing the school and the school culture. The work was carried out by means of documental analysis and semi-structured interviews with parents. The results obtained by the famili1es' representations indicate that the new educational measures reverberated different the parents expectations. Some were capable of showing their judgments and critics especially in relation to: the drastic reduction of playtime; the fear of this ear1y enrollment once the children are young; lack of information to the population and lack of formative actions to the teachers. Others pointed out that they expect that effective learning would be assured and their six-year-old children would be successful during their school trajectory / A Lei Federal Nº 11.274/06 torna realidade a meta estabelecida no Plano Nacional de Educação de ampliar para nove anos o ensino fundamental, com a matrícula das crianças aos seis anos de idade. Trata-se de política afirmativa que visa à melhoria da qualidade do ensino, à elevação do nível de escolaridade da população e à redução das desigualdades sociais quanto ao acesso e à permanência, com sucesso, na educação pública. No âmbito da política local, os sistemas de ensino são competentes e livres para construir seu plano de ampliação e incentivar a democratização de debates envolvendo todos os segmentos da sociedade. Diante desse cenário, esta pesquisa, realizada no ano de 2008, teve como objetivo ampliar os conhecimentos sobre as questões que envolvem a implantação de ações políticas locais, especificada pela ampliação do ensino fundamental obrigatório, na rede municipal de ensino de Araraquara-SP. O objeto de investigação foi o contexto familiar, focalizando os impactos dessa medida sobre as expectativas e estratégias dos pais quanto à escolarização mais precoce das crianças. O referencial teórico adotado pauta-se nos conceitos de capitais econômico, cultural, social e simbólico e de espaço e campo social de Bourdieu, que permitem compreender as diversas atitudes das famílias frente à escola e à cultura escolar. Trata-se de pesquisa realizada mediante análise documental e entrevistas semi-estruturadas com pais. Os resultados obtidos a partir das representações das famílias indicam que as novas medidas educacionais repercutiram de modo diferenciado sobre as expectativas dos pais. Alguns foram capazes de manifestar suas apreciações e críticas especialmente em relação a: redução drástica dos períodos de ludicidade; receio desse ingresso pelo fato de as crianças serem muito novas; precariedade de informações para a população e ações formativas para os professores. Outros apontaram que efetivamente esperam que sejam asseguradas aprendizagens efetivas e que, a partir delas, seus filhos de seis anos possam ter sucesso durante sua trajetória escolar

Una aproximació a l'escola com organització saludable. Anàlisi de la relació entre el context intern del docent i la síndrome d'esgotament professional

La tesis desenvolupa el concepte d'escola saludable des de la perspectiva dels riscos psicosociales. Concretament, l'anàlisis dels nivells de la síndrome d'esgotament profesional en 40 centres escolares de Catalunya confirma l'existència de granes diferències associades a diferències en l'organització i el modelo pedagògic. El model d'escola que aprén s'associa a una major salut laboral. De la recerca es deriven nove aportacions per a la prevenció primària de la síndrome estudiada. / La tesis desarrolla el concepto de escuela saludable desde la perspectiva de los riesgos psicosociales. Concretamente, el análisis de los niveles de síndrome de quemado por el trabajo en 40 centros escolares de Cataluña confirma la existencia de grandes diferencias asociadas a diferencias en la organización y modelo pedagógico. El modelo de escuela que aprende se asocia a una mayor salud laboral. De la investigación se derivan nuevas aportaciones para la prevención primaria del síndrome estudiado. / The thesis develops the concept of healthy school from the perspective of pychosocial risks. Specifically, the analysis of the levels of burnout in 40 schools of Catalonia confirms the existence of big differences associated with differences in the organisation and pedagogical model. The model of the school as a learning organization is associated to a great occupational health. Of the investigation new contributions are derived for the primary prevention of the burnout.

From the case study of Hospital São Paulo (HSP) and the Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), this work analyzed, qualitatively, which factors these organization’s culture offer to its community to allow them to build and to integrate social representations on psychic and somatic issues. Through psycossociologic methods analyses, it was noted that these organizations do not provide a culture that would help its members to deal with the anguish roused by the medical task, while dealing with somatization disorder patients. This task usually waves the possibility of death, determining hypochondria as its main anguish. / A experiência do Programa de Atendimento e estudos de Somatização do Departamento de Psiquiatria da UNIFESP/HSP e a literatura científica mostram que os pacientes somatizadores tendem a estabelecer com a organização hospitalar uma relação muito dispendiosa, tanto do ponto de vista da relação que mantem com seus profissionais quanto com relação ao volume de recursos materiais que consomem. a partir do estudo de caso do Hospital São Paulo e da Universidade Federal de São Paulo, o presente estudo analisou qualitativamente que elementos a cultura das organizações oferece a seus membros para que eles construam, coletivamente, representações sociais acerca do psíquico e do somático, e que elementos oferece para que tais representações sejam integradas, articuladas ou cindidas coletivamente por seus membros. Tendo concluído, através da análise das instâncias propostas pela metodologia psicossociológica, que as organizações analçisadas não dispõem de uma cultura que favoreça, através das representaçoes sociais, a articulação e integração psíquica das angústias despertadas pela tarefa médica em geral, e tampouco pelas angústias despertadas pelos pacientes somatizadores. Tarefa que constantemente acena a possibilidade da morte, determinando como angústia central despertada, a hipocondria.

The role of secondary school principals in motivating teachers in the Flacq district of Mauritius

From the wave of policy reforms of the new Minister of Education and Human Resources for a "World Class Quality Education", stakeholders have been ascribing the poor quality of learner performance to a lack of motivated teachers. This study focuses on the factors that impact on teacher motivation in the Flacq district of Mauritius and on the role of the principal in enhancing teacher motivation. An empirical investigation based on qualitative research was conducted following the literature study on these two themes. Motivational factors pertain to the school-based personal and professional needs of the teacher. Due to centralised school governance and instructional leadership tasks being delegated to the School Management Team, principals are not effective teacher motivators. Recommendations relate to transformational, distributive and participatory leadership strategies for optimal instructional principalship. / Educational Leadership and Management / M. Ed. The role of the school governing body in implementing a code of conduct for learners in secondary schools in North West Province

The South African Schools Act of 1996 mandates the establishment of School Governing Bodies (SGBs) in all schools with grade eight and higher. Amongst others, the SGB has the authority to develop a Code of Conduct for learners in a school. This study includes a literature review of discipline in schools, the functions of SGBs, the development and implementation of a Code of Conduct by the SGB. A qualitative investigation of the perceptions of parents, educators and learners, of discipline and dealing with misbehaviour was conducted in three secondary schools in the North-West Province. It was established that role-players differed in their understanding of coming to a common understanding of what to include in a Code of Conduct. It seems as if measures to deal with misbehaviour are often in violation of the Bill of Rights in the Constitution. Based on the findings, recommendations for addressing discipline by means of a Code of Conduct were proposed. / Educational Studies / M. Ed. (Education Management)

Based on the analyses of the social regulation carried out on the economy field and the political sociology and having as reference the methodological-theoretical frame developed by Marks and fertilized by Gramsci, it was aimed to understand the constitutional determinations of the organization of the school in cycles in Goiânia and questioned in which way they correspond to the processes of regulation of the educational policies or, in the other hand, they can mean a counterpoint to the hegemonic processes of regulation in progress. The investigation in local extent demanded, in addition to the bibliographic research, a process which involved document analysis, interviewing and applying questionnaires in 15 schools. The data obtained from the questionnaires received statistics treatment through the electronic program SPSS - Statistical Package for The Social Sciences. Taking the organization of the school in cycles as a policy in the strict meaning of the state s action, that is, as a policy of the government, it should be considered that it is also found, in higher or lower degree, submitted to the ways of regulation of the policies forged on the lato of the State s action. Thus, the organization of scholarity in cycles in Goiânia can be understood as a policy doubly delimited by regulating processes. As a counterpoint to the organizations in series model, the main changes instituted in the evaluation s extent refer to the variation on the meaning of failing and the introduction of alternatives as regrouping, mobility, rejoining groups or maintenance of some steps. Within the curriculum extent, the speech that it is necessary for the structure to be flexible seems widely absorbed and reaffirmed on the curriculum organized by objectives, by generating theme and work projects, among other methodologies adopted. Inserting new forms and mechanisms of control over the management and organization of work; the emphasis on collective work; the intensification, complexification and teachers work overload have resulted in demand for teachers increasingly more flexible and indicate changes in management and organization of work extents. The organization of schools in cycles in Goiania s educational public schools is a policy whose regulation was expressed by the contradictory movement of flexibilization, which included moments of deregulation/ regulation throughout the period examined. However, what has emerged is that the soothing of flexibilization has not ceased production processes that were made conventional by being called failure at school and for the reasons why more complex forms of social regulations are needed. / Vinculada à Linha de Pesquisa Estado e Políticas Educacionais do Programa de Pósgraduação em Educação da Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG), esta tese analisa a organização da escola em ciclos em Goiânia à luz dos processos de regulação das políticas educacionais empreendidos no Brasil, particularmente a partir da década de 1990. Com base nas análises da regulação social realizadas no campo da economia e da sociologia política e tendo como referência o quadro teórico-metodológico desenvolvido por Marx e fertilizado por Gramsci, buscou-se apreender as determinações constitutivas da organização da escola em ciclos em Goiânia e interrogar em que sentido elas correspondem aos processos de regulação das políticas educacionais ou, se diferentemente disso, podem significar um contraponto aos processos hegemônicos de regulação em curso. A investigação em âmbito local demandou, além da pesquisa bibliográfica, um processo que envolveu análise documental, realização de entrevistas e aplicação de questionários em 15 escolas. Os dados obtidos dos questionários receberam tratamento estatístico por meio do programa eletrônico SPSS - Statistical Package for The Social Sciences. Ao tomar a organização da escola em ciclos como uma política no sentido stricto da ação estatal, ou seja, como uma política de governo, deve-se considerar que ela também se encontra, em maior ou menor grau, submetida às formas de regulação das políticas forjadas no sentido lato da ação do Estado. Neste sentido, a organização da escolaridade em ciclos em Goiânia pode ser compreendida como uma política demarcada duplamente por processos regulacionais. Contrapondo-se ao modelo de organização seriada, as principais mudanças instituídas no âmbito da avaliação referem-se à variação no significado da reprovação e à inserção de alternativas como reagrupamento, mobilidade, reenturmação ou retenção em algumas etapas. No âmbito do currículo, o discurso de que é necessário flexibilizar sua estrutura parece amplamente assimilado e reafirmado no currículo organizado por objetivos, por tema gerador e projetos de trabalho, dentre outras metodologias adotadas. A inserção de novas formas e mecanismos de controle sobre gestão e organização do trabalho; a ênfase no trabalho coletivo; a intensificação, complexificação e sobrecarga no trabalho dos professores têm resultado na demanda por um professor cada vez mais flexível e são indicativos de mudanças no âmbito da gestão e da organização do trabalho. A organização da escola em ciclos na rede municipal de educação de Goiânia é uma política cuja regulação foi expressa no contraditório movimento de flexibilização, que incluiu momentos de desregulamentação/regulamentação ao longo do período analisado. Entretanto, o que se depreendeu é que o paliativo da flexibilização não tem cessado os processos de produção do que se convencionou denominar de fracasso escolar e em razão do que são necessárias formas cada vez mais complexas de regulação social.

Рассматриваются факторы и специфические формы проявлений трудового оппортунизма персонала дошкольной организации, дана характеристика особенностей рынка дошкольного образования, проведен анализ рынка труда педагогических кадров Свердловской области, выявлены проблемы управления в ДОО, которые могут стать основаниями для возникновения оппортунистического поведения персонала, определены механизмы преодоления. Теоретические выводы, содержащиеся в работе, могут служить обоснованием принципов построения программы мероприятий по управлению оппортунистическим поведением персонала дошкольной организации. / The article considers the factors and specific forms of labor opportunism of staff in pre-school organization, describes the features of the pre-school education market, analyzes the labor market of pedagogical personnel in the Sverdlovsk region, identifies management problems in pre-school organizations that can become the basis for the emergence of opportunistic behavior of staff, identifies the causes of their occurrence, and develops measures to overcome them.
