This study focuses on medical prognostication in the earliest Indian medical treatise known, the Caraka Saṃhitā. The first chapter gives an overview of the Caraka Saṃhitā, including its main doctrines and philosophy. The second chapter introduces the Indriyasthāna, the section in the Caraka Saṃhitā in which most of the omen literature is collected. The third chapter gives a survey and preliminary analysis of all twelve chapters in the Indriyasthāna. In the final chapter and conclusion, the topic of omen literature in the ancient world in general will be discussed, with a focus on the issue that invariably presents itself in omen literature, “rationality.” / text

The emergence of Cantilever Neon Signage has accompanied with the grown-up of Hong Kong urban development after World War II. This enormous steel frame covered with bent neon lights has been erected onto the external wall over the streets of Hong Kong city in the past few decades. Its image has been firmly imprinted on every citizen’s memory by its multi-colored and eye-catching gesture. The signal itself embodies part of the social and urban development history of Hong Kong. However, its role in this city has been fading out following with the city’s renewal and advancement in information technology. It is afraid that the Cantilever Neon Signage will end up with a calamitous fate one day as all of them will be eradicated from our city. Throughout this dissertation, we tried to unveil some hidden stories behind this mysterious mask by unravelling the development history and exploring this fading industry in person throughout face-face site visits. The results were astonishing as less people would commit to this handicraft driven industry and it coupled with austere statutory controls which have inevitably halted further potential successors to enter into the industry. / published_or_final_version / Conservation / Master / Master of Science in Conservation

Žmogaus būtis, egzistencija jau šimtmečius jaudina ne vieną filosofą, dramaturgą, poetą ir kiekvieną iš mūsų,todėl ši tema nekintamai aktuali ir neišsemiama bet kuriuo laikmečiu. Laiko ženklai, tai tarsi kiekvieno žmogaus palikti pėdsakai laike ir erdvėje, tai lyg jo būties įprasmintas pavidalas -laiko ženklas, tai lyg įrėžta žymė erdvėlaikyje, kuri prasidėjo žmogui užgimus ir baigėsi jam mirus. Visi vaizdiniai, aplinkybės, duotybės , akimirkos, epizodai išgyventi žmogaus ir sudaro - JO KODĄ, JO LAIKO ŽENKLĄ paliktą erdvėje ir laike. “Kas lieka žmogui nugyvenus gyvenimą? Ar egzistuoja išliekamieji laiko ženklai laike ir erdvėje? Ar tik prasmingai nugyventas gyvenimas turi išliekamąją vertę? O koks gyvenimas yra prasmingas( juk kiekvieno žmogaus, kaip individo prasmės suvokimas yra skirtingas)?“. / I am representing my collection, wich was done in silkscreen technique colled “Signs of time”. Sign XI Human beeing, egsistentialism it is most concerning themes in every century.The meaning of life constitutes a philosophical question concerning the purpose and significanse of human existence. The concept can be expressed through a variety of related questions, such as Why are we here?, What's life all about? and What is the meaning of it all?.Is there anything left after we are passing away? Maybe we are leaving some signs in a thime and in a space, some ours SIGNS OF TIME?

Bakalauro darbo tikslas yra išsiaiškinti ar objektų vaizdavimas projektuose atitinka standartus ir sukurtu želdinimo projektu parodyti taisyklingą grafinį vaizdavimą. Pasirinkti tokie uždaviniai: išanalizuoti literatūros šaltinius, kuriuose yra želdinimo planai; išskirti labiausiai neatitinančius standarto kraštovaizdžio objektus ir ženklus; atlikti kraštovaizdžio objektų ženklų interpretavimo Lietuvoje ir kitose valstybėse analizę; susisteminti literatūros šaltiniuose nurodytuose planuose, projektuose vaizduojamus ženklus, kurie neatitinka standartų; išskirti ženklus, kurie želdinimo planuose paimti iš kitų standartų; išskirti dažniausiai interpretuojamus standartuose nurodomus ženklus; sukurti konkretų pasirinktos vietos projektą, kuriame būtų naudojami standartiniai ženklai. Pagrindinės darbo išvados tokios: literatūros šaltiniuose ženklai neatitinka standarto; dauguma standartinių ženklų neatitinka realaus daikto vaizdo; dalis simbolių paimti iš kitų standartų: kartografijos, geodezijos ir topografijos; dažniausiai interpretuojami ženklai: medžiai, krūmai ir gyvatvorės; užsienio autorių ženklai labiau suvokiami, aiškesni, brėžniai vaizdingesni; Pasitaiko tokių ženklų kurie nėra nurodyti standartuose, tačiau autorių dažnai naudojami brėžiniuose: pergolė, baseinas, lauko baldai. Jų vaizdai labiausiai atitinka realybę. Standartizacijos departamentas, atsižvelgdamas į tai, kad tam tikri želdinimo ženklai, kurie nėra nurodyti standarte, bet autorių dažnai vaizduojami, galėtų... [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / The aim of the bachelor work is to sort out that a presentation of objects in the projects conform the standards and to show a correct graphical presentation of created sprout projects. The main tasks: to analyze literature sources in which are sprout plans; to distinguish objects and signs which do not correspond with standards; to make analysis in Lithuania and different countries of interpretational research of objects signs of landscape; to systematize signs which do not correspond with standards and are indicated in plans and projects of literature sources; to distinguish signs which are in sprout projects taken from different standards; to distinguish the most common interpret signs which are showed in standards; to create a concrete project of a chosen place in which standard signs are in a usage. The main conclusions: a signs do not correspond with standards in literature sources; the majority standard signs do not correspond with real view of object; some symbols are taken from the different standards: cartography, geodesy and topography; most often interpret signs are: trees, bushes and hedges; a signs and graphics are more comprehensive, more obvious of foreign authors; sometimes occurs such signs which aren’t showed in standards, but authors use them in graphics: pergola, pool, outdoor furniture.
