Parametric study of a dog clutch used in a transfer case for trucks

Eriksson, Fredrik, Kuttikkal, Joseph Linu, Mehari, Amanuel January 2013 (has links)
Normally the trucks with four wheel drive option will be running in rear wheel drives and the front wheels will be rotating freely. In extreme tough driving conditions, the risk for getting stopped or slipping the rear wheels in mud is high. When the driver tries to engage the four wheel drive option and due to the difference in relative rotational speed of the dog clutch parts, there is a risk for slipping off or bouncing back of the dog clutch. After studying the importance of gear geometry and a few parameters, the team ended up with a new design and the performance of the design found satisfactory when simulated in MSC ADAMS.

Weight Reduction of Reach Stacker

Ekdahl Norling, Linda January 2014 (has links)
The report is about reducing the Eigen weight of a reach stacker in order to obtain decreased fuel consumption. The detail the product development treats is the telescopic boom. By using steel of higher strength the dimension can be decreased, which in turn results in a reduced weight. Suitable steel for the application might be the high strength structural steel of designation S690QL. With support of calculations and CAD simulations the possible weight reduction is assumed to amount to 28%.

BULÁNEK, Jiří January 2012 (has links)
This diploma thesis addresses the issues associated with the theory of chip machining of metals. The theories are supported in many chapters by illustrative images created in the SolidWorks 3D modeler. The introductory part is rather theoretical, describing integrally and systematically the basic terms of splinter machining. The subsequent chapters address the issues of the turning tool edge geometry, different types of tools? materials, chip development, forces, work, temperatures and heat emitted during the work. Furthermore, the diploma thesis also addressed issues related to the machining efficiency. Finally, the conclusion of the thesis consists of a description of the basic types of milling and turn machining

Deformering av kuggar i planetväxlar / Deformation of gear teeth in planetary gears

Alhasan, Tareq, Gredelj, Adis January 2020 (has links)

Designing of One Directional Wave Tank

Ringe, Shivansh January 2020 (has links)
Uppsala University wants to make a wave tank which can be used for experiment and education purpose. The project's aim is to get design parameters required to make a wave tank, design the wave tank, to do analysis on wave parameters taken from results and analysis of material which can be used to construct it.  This project is an extension of the project called Numerical Wave Tank Design in which a literature study on existing wave research facilities was done [1]. The data from this project is used to get the dimensions of the wave tank. A study on hydrodynamics and wave theory is done to understand flow motion and wave generation.   Ansys Fluent is used for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The software is used to test the wave tank with different wave absorber and observe if a good quality wave with a minimal reflection can be generated in the wave tank of chosen dimensions. Four models were created for testing wave absorber of different shapes. The setup for all the models was kept the same for comparison purposes. Waves generated from CFD were later compared with the theoretical waves obtained from wave theory. The next part was to model the wave tank in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, SolidWorks. The stress and strain analysis was done on the walls and support beam of the wave tank to know if the structure can sustain the water when fully filled. After creating static simulation different scenarios were performed on the beam and stand of the wave tank. The design study on these parts was compared to see which case provides a more optimal solution. It was found out that wave absorber having an elevation of 18.4 degrees, i.e., 1:3 slope provides the highest wave height for the given parameter and dimensions of the wave tank. In wave analysis, it was seen that wave height is proportional to the stroke length, water depth is proportional to wave height and time period is inversely proportional to the wave height. Cast stainless steel is used in a wave tank as it is cheap, reliable and robust. It was found out that the support beam 0.015 m thick is enough, although it can be increased to 0.02 m. In the design study of the wave tank stand, it was found out that a leg distance of 0.78 m and a leg width of 0.06 m is sufficient to withstand the weight of the wave tank.

Návrh technologie výroby vstřikovací formy pro přesné lití / Design of injection mold production technology for precision casting

Fendrich, Tomáš January 2020 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the design and production of an aluminum injection mold for investment casting. The work briefly describes the technology of investment casting together with a description of the types of molds, their internal arrangement and the most commonly used materials. Another part of the work is devoted to the analysis of aluminum molds machining. Emphasis was placed mainly on those operations, that will be used in production of mold. The practical part describes in detail the process of designing the model and mold, as well as the process of designing production technology. The construction is performed using the program SolidWorks, production technology using the program SolidCam. At the end of the work, the mold is assembled and the functionality of the mold is verified by means of test injection and economic evaluation is made.
