ModBin : Det smarta sättet att källsortera / ModBin : The smart way to recycleJohansson, Christoffer, Oberlies, Karl January 2017 (has links)
Environmental issues are becoming increasingly important in our society and recycling has never been as important as now. An important part of the environmental issue is recycling. In order to recycle more and better, the counties in Sweden are investing more money to get households to sort their waste property and regularly. The aim of the project has been to develop a sorting station that will benefit and facilitate households need for recycling. Through close contact with Halmstad Energy and Environment and with market research towards households, a sorting station for the home has been developed. ModBin is a project with many potential stakeholders and future cooperation’s with counties and retailers around Sweden. By studying and discussing with experts in the area, we have developed a sorting station that differs from current solutions by giving the user the opportunity to create their own station according to their own needs under their kitchen counter. ModBin hides the edges of your plastic waste bags to give you a more organized sorting station, and the color-coded rings on each bin helps the user sort right. Our concept is illustrated on our website modbin.se and is almost ready for sale to both customers and the retailers. If we can get a cooperation with more counties around Sweden, ModBin looks forward to meeting an exciting future.

Avfall på förskolor i Umeå kommun : Vilka faktorer påverkar mängden brännbart avfall, matavfall samt källsorterat material?Åberg, Lina January 2017 (has links)
It is of major importance with proper waste management to reduce the risk for toxic substances to affect environment and reducing the need for natural resources. Umeå municipality has developed a waste plan to reduce the impact on environment and human health. One of the goals was to fraction all garbage disposals until 2016 at the different administration in the municipality including the preschools. This study investigated pre-conditions and the personals attitude for separate waste, awareness of the waste plane content and if either of these parameters may affect the amount of separated materials at nine selected pre-schools. Web-based surveys were distributed to the personal and observational studies were done at all included preschools. There were significant differences between preschools according to combustible waste, food waste and source-sorted material. It was no significant association between the amount of sorted garbage disposal and the attitude to fractionate, practical conditions and knowledge about the waste plan. Although, the study does not provide a general picture of all preschools in the municipality, the results indicate that better knowledge and information about the importance of separating waste and the waste plan are needed. It´s also necessary to clarify the responsibility between the various actors in order to improve the results over time.

"Nedskräpning förbjuden" : Elever på mellanstadiet resonerar kring nedskräpning, källsortering och föroreningar / “Littering prohibited” : Middle-school pupils reason about littering, waste sorting and pollutions.Melin, Daniéla January 2019 (has links)
The purpose of this qualitative study is, through focus group interviews investigate what pupils in grades 5-6 can and reason about waste sorting, littering and pollutions. The study examines how sustainable development is presented in the curriculum's introductory parts and curricula, how the three dimensions of sustainability are defined and previous research within the subject. The result that emerged visualizes how 20 pupils at an Eco-School and a non-Eco-school look at littering and sorting waste. The results of the survey indicate that the pupils are well acquainted with today's environmental problems, and they know how to counteract with these. The pupils on the Eco School did remarkably not show more knowledge about for example sustainability. However, it is demonstrated that the majority of the pupils at both schools hold a nonchalant approach to the problems, place these on other individuals and postpone the problems before them. Finally, the study discusses the introduction of a new topic in the curriculum, who carries the responsibility and how the teachers can engage their students to work for a better planet.
