This is a tiny piece of disconcerting work from Stela do Patrocínio, woman, poor, black and diagnosed insane who lived 30 years of her life, seeing the world through the real and imaginary walls of a psychiatric institution. Her poetry, or, as she defined "babblings" were collected in the book "Kingdom of the bugs and the animals is my name" and inspired the creation of plays, documentaries, music and other publications in academia. This paper proposes to discuss these different discourses produced about the author and his speech, trying to understand how it was possible that his speech echoed to the general public, who happened to have contact with their expressions and narratives of subjectivity, as well as understand how the experience of hospice admission and the relationships between psychiatric knowledge and institutional power can influence the construction of subjectivities immersed in gender relations, race / ethnicity and class. The babblings of Stela - along with other testimonies built in space-time admission asylum - also opens new possibilities for understanding the relationships in microcosm called hospice, medical knowledge and especially on the lives of these subjects called crazy. / Eu sou Stela do Patrocínio/Bem patrocinada/Estou sentada numa cadeira/Pegada numa mesa nega preta e crioula/Eu sou uma nega preta e crioula/Que a Ana me disse (PATROCÍNIO, 2009, p.58).

Až na okraj: Hranice a hraniční stély ve starověkém Egyptě / The Land to its Limits: Borders and Boundary Stelae in Ancient EgyptRovenský, Jan January 2021 (has links)
This M.A. thesis examines so-called border stelae in ancient Egypt, as well as the concept of the border. This is done by analysing historical, archaeological and epigraphic data. This thesis con- cludes that the category of the border stela in Egyptological research should be scrapped, as there is only one monument that lives up to this description, namely the year 8 stela of Senusret III dis- covered at the fortress of Semna-West.

Previous issue date: 2016-08-29 / This dissertation aims to map, describe and interpretate how Bumba-meu-boi, a manifestation of popular culture, is configured in Children and Young Adult Literature. Concerning to mapping, the research found in Brazilian editorial market fifteen Children and Young Adult Literature books about Bumba-meu-boi as main theme. When describing the group of books, it was clearly perceived that it could be divided in two subgroups: one subgroup formed by books intended to preserve the traditional auto and one subgroup formed by books that choose to update the auto, both aiming the maintenance and the dissemination of Bumba-meu-boi. In the third throughput of the research, the aesthetic and literary interpretations of the books have been made, aiming to observe the way literature for children and young adult configures literarily this party from popular tradition. For this purpose, Stela Barbieri’s Bumba-meu-boi (2014) has been analyzed at great lenght as an exemple of the group of conservation of tradition; and Carmen Lúcia Campos’ A festa do boi (2007) has been analysed at great lenght as representantive of the dimension of the updating. The selection of these books takes into account that both of them have the Bumba-meu-boi matraca’s ox from State of Maranhão as a reference, also known as accent of the lowlands and of the island. The issues that encircle the confluence between Children and Young Adult Literature and popular tradition dialogue with the studies conducted by Peter Burke, Teresa Colomer, Peter Hunt, and Regina Zilberman. The thinking about Bumba-meu-boi is due, mostly, to the work of Luís da Câmara Cascudo, Mário de Andrade, Maria Laura Cavalcanti, Américo Azevedo, José Ribamar Sousa dos Reis, Luciana Gonçalves de Carvalho, amongst others. The corpus analysis, taking into account the aesthetic assembly formed by illustration and text, has been based on researches conducted by Walter Benjamin, Paul Zumthor, Néstor Garcia Canclini, Maria José Gordo Palo, Maria Rosa Duarte de Oliveira, and Sophie Van Der Linder . The main result of this research is the awareness of that both throughputs (auto’s conservation and updating) that pervade the representation of Bumba-meu-boi in Children and Young Adult Literature are complementary and brought together to preserve and disseminate tradition, mantaining the link between new generation and ancestry through Children and Young Adult Literature / Esta dissertação tem como objetivo mapear, descrever e interpretar o modo como o Bumba-meu-boi, manifestação da cultura popular, está configurado na Literatura Infantil e Juvenil.

Settlement History and Interaction in the Manialtepec Basin of Oaxaca's Central CoastMenchaca, Victoria 01 January 2015 (has links)
As the focus of over 70 years* of archaeological research, Oaxaca, Mexico, is one of Mesoamerica*s best understood regions. Yet, despite the volume of work in Oaxaca, information about one of its key resource areas, the central Pacific coast, remains limited. Specifically, the ambiguous role of Oaxaca*s Central Coast in interregional relationships during pre-Hispanic times to the sites of Monte Alban and Tututepec has been a chronic problem and major source of debate for decades. The purpose of this thesis is to begin clarifying the role of Oaxaca*s Central Coast in interregional networks and its pre-Hispanic history. Analysis utilized surface observations, surface collections, and information from limited excavations performed by the Proyecto Arqueologico Laguna de Manialtepec (PALM) in the Manialtepec Basin, located on the Central Coast of Oaxaca. The data was then mapped using ArcGIS software to render settlement and artifact patterns. Based on the results of this project I suggest a history of settlement for this area. I also argue that the Basin contained three centers, maintained interregional interactions, and was invaded by the Mixtecs of highland Oaxaca during the Late Postclassic Period (A.D. 1200-1500).
