Hodnocení vlivu fenytoinu na vývoj motoriky laboratorního potkana motorickými testy a analýzou plavání / Assessment of the impact of phenytoin on motor activity development of laboratory rats by motor activity testing and swimming analysis

Matoušková, Kateřina January 2017 (has links)
Phenytoin is well-known antiepileptic drug with high anticonvulsant effect but also with proven side effects on motor activities associated with its long-term use. This thesis summarizes side effects of phenytoin on motor skills and coordination of rats after acute phenytoin treatment. Theoretical part includes proven effects of phenytoin on human and animal model. Knowledge about motor skills development of rats and comparison with human motor skills development is also included in the thesis. Apart from locomotion development, swimming development is also described. We compared three groups of rats in the experiment. Each group consisted of ten rats. We compared group with dosage 60 mg/kg, 30 mg/kg, control group and vehicle group. Each group was tested before application for control. We tested animals on postnatal day 12, 18 and 25. Effects of phenytoin were evaluated by motor skills testing and swimming analyses. The results of this thesis have proved impaired motor skills and coordination after phenytoin treatment of 12 and 25 days old rats.

Bibliographic identification KUČEROVÁ, Klára. Long-term monitoring of impact of competitive swimming in statics and dynamics of the spine. Prague: Charles University, 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Department of Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine, 2017, 59 p. Supervisor of the bachelor's thesis Mgr. Magdaléna Lepšíková. Abstract Swimming is a physical activity that is often recommended by physicians as compensatory activity. It is symmetrical sport which takes place in aquatic environment. This sport has many benefits and can be done at any age. Our goal was to find out if competitive swimming had an effect on statics and dynamics of the spine. To measure static sagittal parameters we used DIER Formetric III 4D. Dynamic tests were measured by spinal development tests. The trunk stabilization was detected using Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) concepts. We observed 11 children aged 11 - 12. These children were examined twice in the bachelor thesis, first one before the start of racing swimming and second one after 10 months. In our diploma thesis, these children were examined again after 3 years of racing swimming. We also watched a set of 11 adult swimmers. We compared their results with standards. After three years of racing swimming in children, there was no statistically significant change in size of...

Examining How Specific Involvement Opportunities Influence the Sport Commitment Type of Masters Swimmers: Differences in Number, Strength, and Direction of Associations to Functional and Obligatory Commitment

Bennett, Angela January 2014 (has links)
This thesis aimed to: (a) design a factorially valid survey to assess sub-themes relating to ‘involvement opportunities’ (IOs), which are an antecedent variable in the sport commitment model (Wilson et al., 2004); (b) examine the placement of enjoyment alongside IOs in the sport commitment model; (c) determine the pathways (i.e., direct and/or indirect) by which specific IOs sub-themes affect functional and obligatory commitment and if they differ in number, strength and direction of association (Choosakul et al., 2009); and (d) examine differences between recent initiates compared to those who have been more continuously involved (Chu & Wang, 2012) in Masters swimming. Based on exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses of survey data from 725 swimmers (260 males, 465 females, M age = 50.5, range = 25-92), results confirmed a 10 factor solution of IOs sub-themes. Structural equation modeling demonstrated that the number, direction, and strength of associations between specific IOs sub-themes and commitment vary depending on commitment type, as do the nature of direct and indirect pathways affecting commitment. Invariance testing showed recent initiates and continuously-involved swimmers to be invariant across measurement and structural models. Overall, results support the need to measure and assess IOs at the level of the sub-theme and to consider a bi-dimensional (Santi et al., 2014; Wilson et al., 2004) sport commitment model.

Étude de l’interaction d’enseignement-apprentissage : le cas de l’enseignement de la natation sportive en EPS / Study of the taching-learning interaction : the case of teaching sporting swimming in physical education

Lémonie, Yannick 12 November 2009 (has links)
The part played by social interactions within the framework of teaching is not any more to show so much are numerous research which on the basis of various theoretical approaches showed their importance in acquisitions of pupils. Through the literature devoted to the part played by the interactions in the apprenticeship takes shape a wandering and polysemous concept witch present characteristic of complexity. More precisely, we define teaching-learning interactions as a co-actionnal process witch contributes to build as well the experience of pupil as that of the teacher. In this work, we study the dynamic of these teaching-learning interactions and also constructive effects on the experience of the pupils as of the teacher in Physical education and Sporting (EPS), especially in teaching sporting swimming. Within the framework of an enactive modeling of the interaction, we mobilize psycho-phenomenology witch allowing us to document the experiences engaged and built in teaching-learning interactions. The results show a relatively typical structure organized in three sequences and associated with four forms of emergent dynamics of functioning. The useful effects for the transformation of experience are associated with construction of intersubjectivity in interaction. This construction is to be connected to the mobilization by the teacher of an empathic competence to put itself instead of the other. Three levels of empathy are highlighted and act differently on the dynamics of interaction. Lastly, the constructive effects appear differentiated in the teacher and the pupil compared to dynamics of teaching-learning interaction

Capteur colorimétrique à base d’oxydes mixtes pour la détection du chloroforme dans l’air des piscines couvertes / Mixed Oxides Colorimetric Sensors applied to Indoor Swimming-pool Chloroform Level Measurement

Landreau, Nina 12 December 2016 (has links)
During the last twenty year, indoor swimming-pool air quality measurement campaigns confirmed the presence of toxic compounds such as chloroform (carcinogenic) at higher level than those advised by French authorities. Hence, the ability to easily perform direct detection of chloroform at concentration above the advised threshold is crucial to ensure the safety of swimmers. At the moment, no devices seems to meet such a need. This PhD work aims at preparing a colorimetric sensor suited to this application, thanks to a nanoporous material incorporating probe-molecules to specifically react with chloroform and yield a coloured product. The optimization of the Fujiwara colorimetric reaction was carried out and the best mode to be used within the nanopores in the gas phase was identified. A new type of silica-zirconia materials had to be specifically developed to resist to the harsh chemical conditions of the Fujiwara reaction.Fine-tuning of the differential reactivity of silica (slow) and zirconia (fast) precursors led to a good control of the homogeneity, absorbance and porosity of the materials which was absolutely essential to meet the specifications of transparency, porosity, mechanical stability, absorbance and ability to host the Fujiwara reaction.Such materials were successfully doped with Fujiwara reagents, and the functional material obtained was validated as a chloroform sensor.

Stimulating vitality : facilities for the promotion of healthy living in Olievenhoutbosch

Omar, Muhammed Saadig 07 December 2012 (has links)
This dissertation aims to promote healthy living for people residing in a disadvantaged area. Physical activity, social interaction a connection with nature are key aspects in this project. The proposed facility would thus include amenities for recreation and health services to assist in achieving this goal. The architecture will be used to stimulate the senses and thus bring into consciousness the presence of the human body in its interaction with the surroundings. The motivation for the project is the fact that many of the health problems experienced by the population of the country are caused by obesity. A lack of physical activity and poor eating habits has resulted in obesity and its associated illnesses being quite common in all communities around the world. Another reason for the project is the accelerated damages that are occurring to the natural environment. People have become unaware of the importance of natural environment and this ignorance has lead to polluting and general mistreatment becoming common place. The proposed site is in the township of Olievenhoutbosch, south of Tshwane. The township lacks many public facilities so the proposed design should also consider the intervention being more than just a health and recreation centre, but one that serves as a hub for the people of the community. / Dissertation MArch(Prof)--University of Pretoria, 2012. / Architecture / Unrestricted

Porovnání parametrů měření pohybu horních končetin na suchu a ve vodě / Comparison of parameters measuring upper limb movement on land and water

Kružík, Josef January 2021 (has links)
Title: Comparison of parameters for measuring the movement of the upper limbs on land and water. The Aim: The aim of this work is to compare selected parameters of swimming performance and technique, obtained in a 25m pool, in a pool with countercurrent (Flum) and on a biokinetic simulator Biokinetic. The Methods: The data used in the diploma thesis were obtained by direct measurements in the swimming pool, in Flum and by means of the Biokinetic swimming simulator. SmartPaddles were used to collect data. The data were then evaluated by Trainsense software and processed into tables and graphs. The Results: Based on the results, we can state that the highest power (W) was always delivered on the Biokinetic. The biggest difference between the average performances of upper limb was in the right hand during the crawl, when the hand on the Biokinetic (257 N) gave 701% of the performance of the right hand in the pool (42.53 N). The results of the average force of the upper limb propulsion for Butterfly in the pool were 19.08 N for the right hand and 17.21 N for the left hand. For Butterfly in the Flum were 13.68 N for the right hand and 11.93 N for the left hand. During the crawl, the proband generated 12.66 N with the right hand and 13.96 N with the left hand. When swimming in Flum, the force values for...
