Ljusintensitetstoleranser på belysningskomponenter interiört i bilar / In car lighting tolerances on lighting components

Lindh, Tove, Elfström, Victor January 2022 (has links)
Interior design in cars today is a factor that consumers value highly. To stand out in the market, it is required that all parts are experienced as high quality. This entails that there are increasing demands on interior components in the car. The study is in collaboration with Volvo Car Group and specifically their Perceived Quality department as it is this department that focuses on perceived quality and works to ensure that Volvo Car Group´s cars are perceived as high quality. An important part of the interior design is lumination. This study aims to answer how large differences there can be at luminance levels before the human eye notices a difference. The methods used are observations and experiments. Observers were shown four different luminated points where their task was to explain when they experienced difference and how they experienced the differences. Measurement data were collected with a luminance camera which was then analyzed. Data collected were reported and analyzed. Data were then used to show how much luminance levels interior in cars can differ before a difference is experienced.

Luize, Bruno Garcia January 2019 (has links)
Geological history of Amazon basin is closely linked with a huge temporal and spatial extents of wetlands. Nowadays, floodplains (i.e., Vázea and Igapó) are the wetlands with greatest coverage in Amazon. The present thesis is focused on the role of wetlands to tree species diversity in Amazon. Wetland forests have lower tree species diversity than upland forests (i.e., Terra-Firme); most likely due to ecological and physiological limitations. Notwithstanding, in Amazonian wetland forests 3,515 tree species already were recorded, (Chapter 2), which is comparable to tree species diversity in the Atlantic Forest. Wetland tree species show greater ranges sizes and niche breadth compared to tree species do not occur in wetlands (Chapter 3). Floristic compositional turnover and phylogenetic distances between floodplain forests in Central Amazon is high (Chapter 4). The most influential driver of floristic compositional turnover was the geographic distances between localities, whereas phylogenetic distances is driven mainly by the environmental gradients between forests. Furthermore, in general, the most abundant species are those that shows greater co-occurrence associations (Chapter 5). Co-occurrence structure is influenced by biotic interactions like facilitation and competition among species, but also by niche similarities indicated in the evol... Dynamic parameter identification techniques and test structures for microsystems characterization on wafer level

Shaporin, Alexey 20 November 2009 (has links)
In this work a method for the characterization of microsystems with movable components is presented. The method allows to determine the relevant parameters and their variations on wafer level if the nominal shape of the structure and the type of deviations are known. The method is based on a comparison of the numerically calculated and experimentally measured Eigenfrequencies of the microsystems. For that purpose, the relationships between various Eigenfrequencies and the searched parameters are calculated by parameter variation analysis and the results of this analysis are approximated with appropriate functions. A Laser Doppler vibrometer based motion analyzer is used to determine the frequency response function of the micromechanical structure and extract Eigenfrequencies. The comparison of the measured and the calculated frequencies provides values for the searched parameters. The key element of the developed method is the measurement on special test structures that are placed in the wafer layout next to the actual microsystems and processed in the same technological process parallel to the actual microsystems. Algorithms for designing the test structures and their placement in the wafer layout are shown, taking into account the design of the actual microsystems and the function parameters of the technological process as well as material characteristics. As a result, a library of standard test structures for function relevant parameters is available. A general guideline for the measurement on the test structures is presented. The presented method is verified on various microsystems and extended to a whole class of microsystems with movable components.

Höer, Martin 23 October 2014 (has links)
Injection moldable thermosetting materials show excellent material properties, e.g. high thermo-mechanical resistance and reduced shrinkage in combination with low material cost. Thus, technical requirements for high performance parts for automotive applications can be achieved. In the scope of this work different phenolic novolac compounds were investigated regarding their hygroscopic behavior with its influence for injection molding and product quality. The absorption can be approximately described by Fick’s-Diffusion-Model. The interrelationship of injection molding parameters and the thermo-mechanical behavior is examined on the basis of mechanical testing and the assessment of the dimensional accuracy for a thermoset high precision part. The presented investigations point to the limit of processing and realizable part quality which can be transferred for high performance parts molded in mass production.

Settling-Time Improvements in Positioning Machines Subject to Nonlinear Friction Using Adaptive Impulse Control

Hakala, Tim 31 January 2006 (has links) (PDF)
A new method of adaptive impulse control is developed to precisely and quickly control the position of machine components subject to friction. Friction dominates the forces affecting fine positioning dynamics. Friction can depend on payload, velocity, step size, path, initial position, temperature, and other variables. Control problems such as steady-state error and limit cycles often arise when applying conventional control techniques to the position control problem. Studies in the last few decades have shown that impulsive control can produce repeatable displacements as small as ten nanometers without limit cycles or steady-state error in machines subject to dry sliding friction. These displacements are achieved through the application of short duration, high intensity pulses. The relationship between pulse duration and displacement is seldom a simple function. The most dependable practical methods for control are self-tuning; they learn from online experience by adapting an internal control parameter until precise position control is achieved. To date, the best known adaptive pulse control methods adapt a single control parameter. While effective, the single parameter methods suffer from sub-optimal settling times and poor parameter convergence. To improve performance while maintaining the capacity for ultimate precision, a new control method referred to as Adaptive Impulse Control (AIC) has been developed. To better fit the nonlinear relationship between pulses and displacements, AIC adaptively tunes a set of parameters. Each parameter affects a different range of displacements. Online updates depend on the residual control error following each pulse, an estimate of pulse sensitivity, and a learning gain. After an update is calculated, it is distributed among the parameters that were used to calculate the most recent pulse. As the stored relationship converges to the actual relationship of the machine, pulses become more accurate and fewer pulses are needed to reach each desired destination. When fewer pulses are needed, settling time improves and efficiency increases. AIC is experimentally compared to conventional PID control and other adaptive pulse control methods on a rotary system with a position measurement resolution of 16000 encoder counts per revolution of the load wheel. The friction in the test system is nonlinear and irregular with a position dependent break-away torque that varies by a factor of more than 1.8 to 1. AIC is shown to improve settling times by as much as a factor of two when compared to other adaptive pulse control methods while maintaining precise control tolerances.
