The content of diploma thesis is designing, project development and static estimation of the supporting steel structure in two different variants of the atypical office building (business center). The object is located in densely built-up location in the Brno. The building is designed as a seven storey. The entrances to the above ground floors are designed from balconies, which are roofed and situated on the edge of the object. The footprint dimensions are 57,6 x 57,6 m. Variants are compared based on weight and size of the coating surfaces supporting construction of the object. Drawing documentation, static calculation of joints and details of the construction are processed for the best variant.

Improvisation as a strategy for the teaching of physical science in Venda with reference to teacher training

Practical work forms an integral part of physical science. Most schools in Venda have no laboratories for practical work. Teachers use the telling method. Students learn by rote. They learn without understanding science concepts. They cannot apply their knowledge to real life situations. This research investigates the use of equipment from inexpensive material in teaching physical science. Teachers trained to improvise equipment use them in classroom teaching. These help teachers to understand many science concepts and use the process approach in their teaching. The research found that when science is taught through experiments with improvised apparatus, student learning occurs at various domains of science education. The bad effects of lack of facilities for practical work are mostly eliminated. Meaningful learning leads to the understanding of science concepts. A strategic enquiry into the holistic nature of corporate identity to enable its systematic control

This is an unconventional study, which addresses the thematic field and the esoteric nature and essence of Corporate Identity. The thesis concentrates in the understanding of Corporate Identity aiming towards an holistic explanation of the concept appropriate for practical multidisciplinary use. It proposes a systematic methodology and establishes a design practitioner perspective, which aims at reliable co-ordination and control of Corporate Identity operations. The methodology to structure the literature A Strategic methodology of questions was developed to operate as a research methodology, which explored Corporate Identity, by revealing the “Form” of its concepts, its connections and its anomalies, as they occur extensively in the published and public domain. The review of published literature was carried out through a discussion process of published material subjected to diagnostic questions; through which the Terminology, Functional concepts, Methodologies are reported to influence Corporate Identity; contributing to the understanding of Corporate Identity’s Form and to further clarifying research issues. Literature review, was subjected to discussion, provisional observations and conclusions and is presented into 8 chapters. The Strategic Enquiry continued and extended on discussing Corporate Identity Field Examples, to interrogate real life experience material, to reveal an extended understanding of overt and covert issues of Corporate Identity’s Form, and to focus research planning accordingly. This process contributed into bringing together clusters of relevant information, gleaned from a rather fragmented published literature, thus forming a more holistic and broader understanding of the concept. However, from this holistic picture it was observed that certain essential texts are missing. Hence a further information literature search, was carried out which reported on texts which are not sufficiently or at all covered in specialised Corporate Identity literature but were regognised by this researcher as essential for a meaningful development of this thesis. The most important information brought into the context of Corporate Identity, at this stage, was a well established tool applicable to complex design projects, which was considered to be useful towards a more effective and holistic Corporate Identity control. The Field work This systematic approach and treatment of the published material contributed to an holistic understanding of the nature, scope, importance, complexity and topicality, of the subject; and lead to a diagnostic understanding of important problems that continually challenge the field. This was achieved through the research design of the thesis, which incorporated the inferences and observations of the Strategic Enquiry and the tried and tested systems design model for the organisation of complex design projects was used as a reference datum to inform the compilation of the questions of a semistructured interview. The Field study explored how Corporate Identity processes were holistically carried out in a Big UK financial institution specifically looking for practice discontinuities and deviations in the procedures. A diagnostic tool appropriate to investigate Corporate Identity operations was created as a result. The interview material was also subjected to content analysis to explore whether the thesis’ inferences and deductions could d also be grounded in practice. The thesis was then evaluated by relating the thesis material, to the thesis objectives, highlighting the outcomes and limitations employing SWOT analysis. As an epilogue to this thesis, within resources available this study appears to have contributed a substantial insight to the Form and operations of Corporate Identity. It also identified the opportunity for more valuable research, to be carried out.

Recherche de gaz/mélange gazeux sans hexafluorure de soufre pour des applications haute tension

Dans l’état actuel des techniques utilisées pour l’isolation gazeuse des systèmes d’énergie électrique à haute tension, l’hexafluorure de soufre (SF6) tient une place prépondérante en raison de ses performances diélectriques et chimiques (bonne tenue diélectrique, point d'ébullition bas, stabilité chimique, non toxicité, etc.) ; il est l’un des meilleurs isolants gazeux connus à ce jour. Il est principalement utilisé dans les appareils de coupure pour l’extinction de l’arc électrique, les lignes de transmission à isolation gazeuse et autres équipements de puissance. Cependant, de par sa taille excessive, sa durée de vie trop importante et son grand effet radiatif, la molécule de SF6 constitue un agent aggravant de l’effet de serre avec un potentiel de réchauffement global (PRG ou GWP en anglais) très élevé (23900 fois supérieur à celui du CO2). Ainsi, les recommandations internationales (COP3) et européennes (règlement (UE) n°517/2014) tendent à restreindre très fortement, voire interdire son utilisation pour préserver l’environnement. Depuis, une tâche importante a été engagée par les industriels pour trouver d’autres gaz ou mélanges de substitution avec moins d’impact sur l’environnement et des exigences diélectriques comparables ou supérieures à celles du SF6. Les candidats les plus prometteurs appartiennent tous au groupe des molécules poly-fluorées (CF3I, Perfluorinated Ketones, Octafluorotetra-hydrofuran, Hydrofluoroolefin (HFOs) ou heptafluoro-iso-butyronitrile(Fluoronitriles)), Ils offrent tous une tenue diélectrique entre 1.2 et 2.71 par rapport au SF6. Ces molécules candidates ouvrent des perspectives intéressantes pour la substitution de SF6 dans l’appareillage sous enveloppe métallique destiné pour le réseau T&D haute tension. Leur principal inconvénient réside dans leur masse moléculaire élevée, ce qui implique une température de fonctionnement plus élevée par rapport au SF6. Ce travail porte sur l’étude expérimentale des performances diélectriques des mélanges de Fluoronitriles-CO2. Les paramètres intrinsèques de l’avalanche électronique sont identifiés à partir des courants de la décharge stationnaire de Townsend. L’évaluation de ces courants a permis d’extraire le coefficient d’ionisation effectif pour différents mélanges de Fluoronitriles. Une comparaison du potentiel d’isolation de ces mélanges avec celui du SF6 pur, dans différentes géométries électrodes (sphère-plan, pointe-plan, sphère-sphère, système avec le profil de Bruce), sur une large gamme de pression et pour toutes les formes d'ondes de tension normalisées pour d'isolation est présentée. Les résultats de mesures de tensions de claquage de ces mélanges et du CO2 pur, pour comparaison, dans un système coaxial cylindrique de taille réelle, similaire à celui utilisé dans les postes à enveloppe métallique (GIS - Gas Insulated Switchgear), sont également présentés ; une étude de l’influence de la surface et de l’état de surface des électrodes sur la tenue diélectrique en fonction de différents paramètres (pression, rugosité, surface effective, forme de tension et polarité, température de gaz …) est faite. / SULPHUR hexafluoride, SF6, is the most common compressed gas used in high voltage power equipment since the 1950s and in HV transmissions and substations applications (GIS, GCB, GIL …), SF6 holds a prominent place because of its dielectric and chemical performance (high dielectric strength, non-toxicity, low condensation temperature, thermal stability, non-flammability, chemical inactivity with the other constituent materials of the apparatus, availability and moderate cost). It is one of the best insulators gas known today. Despite its excellent properties in both electrical insulation and current interruption performance, the excessive size, the radiative effect and atmospheric lifetime of SF6 molecule makes this gas an aggravating agent for the greenhouse gas effect, with a very high global warming potential (GWP) (23900 times higher than CO2). Thus, the international and European recommendations (COP 3) and (Regulation (EU) No 517/2014) respectively tend to strongly restrict or prohibit its use to preserve the environment. Since then, an important task was undertaken by manufacturers to find other gases or mixtures of substitution with less impact on the environment and dielectric performances comparable or superior to those of SF6. Naturally, the investigations were oriented towards halogenated products that have reduced GWP such as CF3I, Perfluorinated Ketones, Octafluorotetra-hydrofuran, Hydrofluoroolefin (HFOs) or heptafluoro-iso-butyronitrile (Fluoronitriles)), all offer a dielectric strength between 1.2 and 2.71 relative to SF6. These candidates open interesting perspectives for the substitution of SF6 in the GIS applications designed for high voltage T & D network. Their main disadvantage is their high molecular weight, which implies a higher operating temperature compared to SF6. This work deals with the experimental study of dielectric performance of Fluoronitriles CO2 mixtures. Intrinsic parameters of the measured steady state Townsend swarm currents are identified. The evaluation of the currents produce the effective ionization rate constant in different Fluoronitriles-CO2 mixtures. In addition, this work provides a conventional assessing of insulating performance with typical breakdown experiments, conducted for different field configurations over a wide pressure range and for all standard voltage waveforms. The experiments are conducted with different electrodes geometries namely plane-to-plane (Bruce profile), sphere-to-sphere, sphere-to-plane and rod-to-plane. AC and LI breakdown characteristics of CO2 and different Fluoronitriles /CO2 mixtures gas were experimentally analyzed in a real scale GIS coaxial test system. The main investigated parameters are the effect of roughness and effective surface area HV inner conductor on insulation performance, depending on various parameters (pressure, form and voltage polarity, gas temperature…).

Siekiant pagreitinti 5-aminolevulino rūgšties (5-ALA) skvarbą į (pro) odą ir sudaryti terapines fotodinaminiam gydymui tinkamas jos koncentracijas, įvertinta 5-ALA ir naujo provaisto skvarba į (pro) odą iš įvairių vietinio poveikio vaisto formų. Atlikta naujo provaisto 2-(dimetilamino)-etil-5-amino-4-oksopentanoato (DMAE-ALA) sintezė, ištirtos jo charakteristikos. Nustatytas susintetinto provaisto stabilumas įvairių pH verčių buferiniuose vandeniniuose tirpaluose ir odos esterazių poveikyje, įrodytas provaisto tinkamumas pernašai į (pro) odą. Atlikti 5-ALA ir du teigiamus krūvius vaisto formoje įgaunančio provaisto jontoforetinės ir pasyvios pernašos iš buferinių tirpalų ir celiuliozinės bei polivinilkarboksilinės kilmės polimerinių gelių į (pro) odą tyrimai in vitro. Patvirtintas reikšmingas skatinamas jontoforezės poveikis krūvinių molekulių pernašai į (pro) odą ir krūvio dydžio reikšmė elektros srovės skatinamos pernašos greičiui. Ištirta vaisto formų, pagamintų iš polivilinkarboksilinės kilmės ir celiuliozės polimerų, kokybė ir jų pasyvioji bei jontoforetinė pernaša. Įrodyta, kad provaisto įterpimui naudojant celiuliozės polimerų pagrindu pagamintus gelius, pasiekiama didžiausia 5-ALA pernaša. Nustatyta, kad du krūvius turintis 5-ALA provaistas į (pro) odą skverbėsi geriau negu vieną krūvį įgaunantys arba elektriškai neutralūs 5-ALA dariniai. Sudarytos rekomendacijos, skirtos pasiekti didžiausiai 5-ALA pernašai į (pro) odą. / Passive and iontophoretic delivery of 5-aminolevulinic acid and newly synthesized prodrug into (through) skin from various topical formulations was evaluated, while trying to accelerate the penetration of 5-ALA and its derivative into (through) skin and to generate the therapeutic concentration suitable for photodynamic therapy. A new prodrug 2-(dimethylamino)-ethyl-5-amino-4-oxopentanoate (DMAE-ALA) was synthesized, its characteristics have been evaluated. Stability of the prodrug in aqueous solutions of various pH values and at exposure with skin esterases (dermal and epidermal stability) has been evaluated. Suitability of the prodrug for topical delivery was confirmed. Studies for the evaluation of 5-ALA and DMAE-ALA passive and active delivery from cutaneous solutions, cellulose and polyvinyl carboxy polymer gels into (through) skin in vitro have been performed. Significant effect of iontophoresis on delivery of charged molecules into (through) skin as well as the significance of the charge of the molecule on the delivery rate has been confirmed. It has been shown that the insertion of the prodrug into cellulose-based polymer gels produces the highest amount of 5-ALA delivered into (through) skin. It was determined that the two-charged prodrug DMAE-ALA penetrated into (through) the skin more efficiently than single-charged or electrically neutral 5-ALA derivatives. Recommendations for achieving most efficient 5-ALA delivery into (through) the skin have been composed.

This diploma thesis deals with the opinions of teachers on the inclusion of competitive games in the nursery environment. The aim of the thesis is to find and analyze the opinions of a selected sample of teachers on this issue. The work is divided into four main chapters. The introductory chapters are devoted to the concept of the game of various authors and authorities, to the place of preschool child play in the environment of the kindergarten and also to the separate problems of the competitive game. The main part of the thesis is the analysis and evaluation of the research carried out. The essence of the empirical part is qualitative research. The data acquisition method is a semi-structured interview, through which educators working at the tertiary level of education are asked to include competing games in nursery schools.

Stáří a volný čas seniorů v domovech důchodců / The Old Age and the Leisure Time of Seniors in the Retirement Homes

The diploma work explains the basic terms which are related to the old age, the phenomenon of the old age and accompanying changes of this age. Institutions concretely retirement homes are the main aim of this work. I have chosen three institutions in České Budějovice {--} Houses for retired people Máj, Hvízdal and Dobrá Voda. I{\crq}m describing and characterizing these houses and comparing their leisure time offers. Further there are described suggestions of spending leisure time of the elderly and activities which are possible to do. The work contains an illustrative research realized with the clients in the form of reading questionnaires in these three institutions. There are little differences, but the offers of the leisure time activities are mostly the same. The way, how the clients spend their leisure time depends a lot on the staff willingness. A special worker for leisure time is not employed in any of these institutions. That is a social worker who cares about clients{\crq} leisure time the most.
