Estudo modal de estruturas com propriedades descontínuas na seção transversal / Modal survey of structures with discontinuous cross-section al propertiesFröhlich, Clarice January 2001 (has links)
The main objective of this research was to develop a modal survey of structures with discontinuous cross-sectional properties, through the Euler-Bernoulli model. Such discontinuities are step type for the mass per unit length and the bending stiffness. Considering different boundary conditions and a classical spectral basis, the first five classical normal modes result in a graphic view, through a matrix approach discriminating the information between boundary conditions and the kind of basis of functions used. The forced vibration for each kind of beam, derived from the Fourier method, is also shown.

Vibrações livres e forçadas no modelo de TimoshenkoTurcatto, Rosemari Barden January 2002 (has links)

[en] MODAL COUPLING AND MODAL INTERACTION ON THE DYNAMIC INSTABILITY OF CYLINDRICAL / [pt] ACOPLAMENTO E INTERAÇÃO MODAL NA INSTABILIDADE DINÂMICA DE CASCAS CILÍNDRICASZENON JOSE GUZMAN NUNEZ DEL PRADO 31 October 2001 (has links)
literatura, permitindo assim aferir o modelo utilizado.
Os
resultados mostram a importância do acoplamento e da
interação modal na solução pós-crítica e no comportamento
dinâmico não-linear de cascas cilíndricas. / [en] Based on Donnell shallow shell equations, the nonlinear
vibrations and dynamic instability of axially loaded
circular cylindrical shells under both static and harmonic
forces are analyzed. For this, the problem is first reduced
to that of a finite degree-of-freedom system by the
Galerkin method. The resulting set of coupled non-linear
ordinary differential equations of motion is, in turn,
solved by the Runge-Kutta method. For the study of modal
coupling, a 2 DOF model was used that describes
consistently the initial post-buckling behavior of the
shell. This model was compared favorably with others found
in literature. For the analysis of modal interaction three
different models were used considering shells with
close or equal frequencies and critical loads. To study the
non-linear behavior of the shell several numerical
strategies were used to obtain Poincaré maps, Lyapunov
exponents, stable and unstable fixed points, bifurcation
diagrams and basins of attraction. Particular attention is
paid to two dynamic instability phenomena that may arise
under these loading conditions:parametric excitation of
flexural modes and escape from the pre-buckling potential
well.Calculations are carried out for the principal and
secondary instability regions associated with the lowest
natural frequency of the shell. Special attention is given
to the determination of the instability boundaries in
control space and the identification of the bifurcational
events connected with these boundaries. The results also
clarify the importance of modal coupling and modal
interaction to the post-buckling solution and non-linear
dynamic behavior of cylindrical shells.

[en] ANALYSIS OF THE DYNAMIC BEHAVIOR OF SEMI-EMBEDDED COLUMNS / [pt] ANÁLISE DO COMPORTAMENTO DINÂMICO DE COLUNAS SEMI-ENTERRADASANTONIO EDUARDO GONCALVES SAMPAIO 18 February 2005 (has links)
sistema não-linear.
problema.
A resolução destas
[en] The study of partially embedded piles is an important topic
in civil engineering due to its use in several engineering
fields. The aim of the present work is to derive an exact
solution for the natural frequencies and vibration modes
of these piles and, based on these results, to analyze the
nonlinear behavior of the column-foundation system. In
order to study the free vibration problem, the energy
functional of the system is obtained, allowing the
derivation of the partial differential equations of motion
for the buried and unburied parts of the pile. The possible
solutions of these equations are then obtained as a
function of a set of non-dimensional parameters
characteristic of the problem. The consideration of
the geometric nonlinearity of the beam leads to a set of
nonlinear differential equations. The solution of these
equations is obtained by employing the Ritz method to
discretize the column in space and the methods of Galerkin-
Urabe and Harmonic Balance to derive an approximate
solution for the resulting equations of motion. Based on
these results, the influence of the geometrical and physical
parameters of the column-foundation system on the free and
forced non-linear vibrations of the pile is analyzed.

[en] DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF HYPERLASTIC CIRCULAR MEMBRANES / [pt] ANÁLISE DINÂMICA DE MEMBRANAS CIRCULARES HIPERELÁSTICASRENATA MACHADO SOARES 15 June 2009 (has links)
inicialmente tracionadas sujeitas a deformações finitas.
A seguir a
Abaqus. / [en] This work presents an analysis of the nonlinear vibration response of a prestretched
hyperelastic circular membrane subjected to finite deformations. The
membrane material is assumed to be isotropic, homogeneous and neo-Hookean.
Based on the theory of finite deformations for hyperelastic membranes, a
variational formulation is developed. First the exact solution of the membrane
under a uniform radial stretch is obtained and then the equations of motion of the
pre-stretched membrane are derived using the Hamilton’s principle. From the
linearized equations of motion, the natural frequencies and mode shapes of the
membrane are obtained analytically. Then the natural modes are used to
approximate the nonlinear deformation field using the Galerkin method. Several
reduced order models are tested using the Karhunen-Loève method and analytical
methods. Besides, the influence of the variation of the membrane thickness and
material density along the radial direction of the membrane on the vibrations is
investigated. The same methodology it is used for the annular membrane. Finally,
the non-linear vibrations of the annular membrane coupled to a rigid inclusion are
studied. The rigid inclusion inserts traction forces in the membrane and its own
weight causes static transverse and radial displacements in the membrane. The
same problems are analyzed by finite elements using the commercial program

[en] EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF CANTILEVER BEAMS UNDER AXIAL IMPACTS / [pt] ESTUDO ESPERIMENTAL DE VIGAS EM BALANÇO SOB IMPACTOS AXIAISJAIME TUPIASSU PINHO DE CASTRO 27 September 2011 (has links)
[en] This study is an experimental investigation of the dynamic response of a cantilever beam due to axial impact. A series of response measurements were made for a cantilevered stainless steel beam subjected to impulses of different magnitudes. The impulses were produced by a pendulum-impact mass arrangement and their magnitudes were varied by changing the weight and release angle of the pendulum mass. For the range and character of impulses utilized in this investigation,it is concluded that magnitude of the applied impulse is the relevant parameter for the transverse response of the beam. Moreover, both maximum bending stresses in the beam and its maximum lateral displacements were found to be linearly related to the magnitude of the applied axial impulses. No dynamic instabilities,in the sense of excessive lateral displacements of the beam, was observed for the range of impulse magnitudes selected here.

[en] NONLINEAR VIBRATIONS AND INSTABILITY OF SHALLOW ARCHES WITH SPRING SUPPORTS / [pt] VIBRAÇÕES NÃO LINEARES E INSTABILIDADE DE ARCOS ESBELTOS ABATIDOS COM APOIOS ELÁSTICOSKENNY FERNANDO CONTO QUISPE 20 May 2015 (has links)
[en] Shallow arches are often used to overcome large spans, for example, arch bridges or steel roofs to cover large spaces such as industrial sheds and stadiums. In many cases the arches are tied or are supported by a flexibility structure, causing that supports to move when the arch has been loaded. This increases the flexibility of the system and the probability of loss of stability in the presence of static and dynamic loads. In many cases, these structures can be modeled as arches with elastic supports. In the present work the static stability has been solved analytically and through the Ritz method, serving the analytical solution to assess the accuracy of the numerical model. Then, based on this study, the analysis of nonlinear vibrations of shallow arches with elastic supports is developed, using the Ritz method, a subject not yet studied in the literature. The results show the noticeable influence of the supports on the nonlinear vibration and stability of shallow arches under static and dynamic loads.

[en] LOW-DIMENSIONAL REDUCED ORDER MODELS FOR THE NONLINEAR DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF BEAMS AND PLANE FRAMES / [pt] MODELOS DISCRETIZADOS DE DIMENSÃO REDUZIDA PARA ANÁLISE DINÂMICA NÃO-LINEAR DE VIGAS E PÓRTICOS PLANOSELVIDIO GAVASSONI NETO 15 February 2008 (has links)
As equações
redução espacial e do
As relações
freqüência-amplitude são satisfatoriamente obtidas para
vibrações livre e forçada
(não-amortecida e amortecida). Entretanto, essas curvas
comportamento não-linear
de pórticos em L é também analisado. Para esses pórticos é
estudada a influência
de cargas axiais e da geometria. Os resultados são
comparados com soluções
analíticas encontradas na literatura. / [en] One of the fundamental results in classical mechanics is
that linear systems
with n degrees of freedom have n orthogonal vibration
modes and n natural
frequencies which are independent of the vibration
amplitude. Any motion of the
system can be obtained as a linear combination of these
modes. This does not hold
for nonlinear systems in which case amplitude dependent
vibrations modes and
frequencies must be obtained. One way of obtaining these
informations for
arbitrary structures is to use a nonlinear finite element
software. However, this is a
cumbersome and time consuming procedure. A better approach
is to derive a
consistent low dimensional model from which the nonlinear
frequencies and mode
shapes can be derived. In this work a procedure for the
derivation of low
dimensional models for slender beams and portal frames is
proposed. The
differential equations of motion are derived from the
application of variational
techniques to a nonlinear energy functional. The linear
vibration modes are used
as a first approximation for the nonlinear modes. The
Galerkin and Ritz methods
are used in the model for the spatial reduction and the
harmonic balance method
for the reduction in time domain. This allows the analysis
of the free and forced
(damped or undamped) vibrations of the structure in non-
linear regime. However
nonlinear resonance curves usually presents limit points.
To obtain these curves, a
methodology for the solution of non-linear equations based
on an arc-length
procedure is derived. Based on the finite element methods
and using the basic
ideas of the perturbation theory, a correction for the
nonlinear vibration modes is
derived. The influence of boundary conditions, geometric,
and force parameters
on the beam response is analyzed. The behavior of L frames
is studied. For this
kind of frame, the influence of axial loading and
geometric parameters on the
response is studied. The results are compared with
analytical solutions found in
the literature.
