Enkele motoriese aspekte van verstandelik normale en verstandelik vertraagde meisies tussen 13-17 jaar / Johrene Annabel KrohnKrohn, Johrene Annabel January 1987 (has links)
An investigation was conducted into possible differences in
motor abilities between 98 mentally retarded and 100 mentally
normal girls aged between 13 - 17 years. For the purpose
of this study certain motor aspects as contained in previously
selected tests were chosen. The motor aspects in question
were those which appear in the Physical Education Syllabus
for girls in the section handling of objects. The success
with which the girls performed the prescribed movement tasks
was measured quantitatively (to indicate attainment of the
desired result) as well as qualitatively (to indicate the
movement pattern) .
A movement-directed analysis was conducted by studying the
possible effect which the kind of skill, as well as the relative perceptual-motor abilities, could have on the achievement
of the pupils. A preceding literature study was done in order
to obtain relevant information pertaining to the study.
The quantitative data were studied by means of a variance analysis
investigation with a view to the significance of
the differences (p ~ 0,05), while the qualitative data, being
nominal, were analysed by means of chi-square techniques.
The predominant findings indicate that, in spite of heterogeneity within the group, deficient motor ability is indeed
prevalent among the mentally retarded pupils. This does
not, however, hold good for all aspects of the movement abilities and is not always meaningful. The biggest differences
are found in the movement pattern.
Task complexity, the degree of cognitive involvement as well
as perceptual-motor abilities included in the skills do play
a role as regards the successful performance by the mentally
retarded group.
Carefully planned motor programmes conducted with retarded
pupils could therefore be a means of abolishing under-actualization of their personality realisation - especially as they
are directed towards motor rather than cognitive orientated
occupations. / Thesis (MA)--PU vir CHO, 1987

A desconstrução é ético-política / La déconstruction est éthico-politiqueVictor Dias Maia Soares 12 February 2014 (has links)

Kontakty nositelů kultury Lepenského Viru s prvními neolitiky na přelomu 7. a 6. tisícletí / Contacts between the culture of the Lepenski Vir and the first Neolithic populations at the turn of the 7th and 6th millenniumĆosović, Mirza January 2019 (has links)
(in English): This paper focuses mainly on the problem of the Mesolithic-Neolithic contact in the Iron Gates gorge at the turn of the 7th and 6th millenniums BC. A special emphasis is put on the eponymous site of Lepenski Vir. From a geographic point of view, this area represents a natural border between countries Serbia and Romania. There, in different layers and at different locations, were excavated and explored settlements documenting activities and social contact between the Mesolithic and Neolithic populations, as well as the transition from the Mesolithic way of life to the sedentary Neolithic one. The first part of the paper is devoted to an overview of scientific research, a development of views on the process of Neolitization and all the important aspects of culture. The second part deals with the examination of the first form of contact between Mesolithic and Neolithic populations based on the results of natural and archaeological research with theoretical application of the migration model, from the American anthropologist David W. Anthony.

Grondbeginsels vir die ontwerp van opvoedkundige rekenaarspeletjies vir die klaskamer (Afrikaans)De Villiers, Jan Adriaan 21 July 2008 (has links)
Computer games have not only invaded the lives of children, but the lives of adults as well. Increasingly, computer games have become a part of popular culture. Initially computer games were considered to be a waste of time, time that could have been better spent doing more worthwhile activities such as studying and physical exercise. Recently, however, attitudes towards computer games have changed; teachers, parents and researchers have started to regard computer games as a possible educational resource. During this new information age it is possible that the children who are part of the Net generation have started to think and process information differently, and that they may have different educational needs. Some researchers think that computer games may serve as an educational tool to support their learning. This literature survey provides an overview of current literature on computer games and education. The review examines the aspects of computer games that support learning, such as motivational factors, social interaction and learning through doing. Further, the review studies the negative aspects that prevent games from being accepted as an educational tool such as the violence portrayed, game addiction, negative stereotyping and asocial behaviour. The Net generation is also examined. The review looks at their characteristics, thinking patterns, skills and their expectations of education. The review then serves as a basis to provide some guidelines for the selection and usage of computer games in the classroom. / Dissertation (MEd (Computer-Integrated Education))--University of Pretoria, 2007. / Science, Mathematics and Technology Education / unrestricted

A Study of the Lhires III Spectrograph on the Hard Labor Creek Observatory 20 inch TelescopeJenkins, Benjamin G 08 August 2011 (has links)
I present a study done to determine the characteristics of the LHIRES III spectrograph on the 20 inch RC Optics telescope at Hard Labor Creek Observatory. I describe the settings of three different diffraction gratings, collimation and focus issues, and practical aspects of use. The spectrograph was used with a SBIG ST-8XME camera for all studies. Data collection was accomplished with the Maxim DL software package and analysis was completed with IRAF. Solutions for the dispersion relation with all three diffraction gratings were found. Several projects are underway with this instrument. I present time series spectra of α Vir to demonstrate the practical applications of the spectrograph. This non-radially pulsating star shows Doppler shifts that were recorded in the Si III 4552, 4568, 4574 Å triplet over the course of a night. The observed profile variations showed the spectrograph capable of exacting scientific work.

Die benutting van terapeutiese hulpmiddels by die gedepriveerde kind in maatskaplike werk / Minka Idelette Christina KeesenbergKeesenberg, Minka Idelette Christina January 1993 (has links)
The aim of this research is to determine the therapeutic possibilities in music and
books, in group work with middle aged deprived children. Deprivationwith children
is an encompassing problem which social workers daily grapple with. A lack of
sufficientknowledgeabout deprivationand sufficientknowledgeon the way inwhich
to solve the problemmakesit essentialto do researchon the subject.
Literature analysis and an empirical research are the two methods used in this study.
The literature analysis focuses on the characteristics of the child client, the value of
play for the child and the different ways of playing. This is followed by an explanation
of the development of the normally developed middle aged child compared to that of
the deprived middle aged child. The therapeutic possibilitiesof music and books is
also discussed.
Experimental research was used for this empirical research. An experimental group
and a controlled group was compiled out of deprived middle aged children.
Measurements were taken before and afterwards according to an adapted Hudson
scale. Music, books and other therapeutic resources were used in the group work
with the experimental group. The hypothesis states that the therapeutic use of music
and books in work with groups amongst deprived middle aged children results in
improvements of behaviour and relationships. The empiricalresearch proved that the
therapeutic use of music and books lead to the improvement of behaviour, such as
co-operation and consentration and to the establishmentof a therapeutic relationship
between the group members and group leader.

The objective of this study is to investigate the picture book
as a form of communication. The investigation comprises both a
theoretical and a practical approach.
An extensive literature survey was undertaken, publishers interviewed
and visits undertaken to process and printing houses
to establish the methods and approaches that are currently
employed to produce a picture book.
The theoretical formulation forms the background and motivation
to the practical aspect of the study. The practical component
entails the actual conceptualization, design, illustration and
publication of a picture book. The possibilities and constraints
imposed on the illustrator, comprising all the elements
that influence and shape the communication process, are presented
and discussed - firstly in theory and then in direct reference
to the picture book which is bei:1g illustrated.
The theoretical and practical components of this study combine
to show up the picture book as a unique art and literary form.
The manner in which successful communication is achieved through
the effective utilization of all the processes and elements that
combine to form the picture book is demonstrated. This study
emphasizes that the illustrator should get to know and use all
possibilities and restrictions to their full advantage to create
an effective, unique interpretation and expression in picture
book form. / Thesis (MA (Beeldende Kunste))--PU for CHE
