Forcerad uttorkning av plattans voter : Hur man möjliggör snabbare hydratation av fukt

Lennartsson, Rasmus, Gunnarsson, Johannes January 2022 (has links)
With a goal to be able to cast a concrete slab and to dry out the moisture in the concrete in a faster way. To meet the requirement for certification of green building construction, the concrete slab must be dried out to an approved level before it is covered with a flooring material. This sets becomes a problem when today's buildings must be constructed quickly. Normal concrete slabs with 0.55 w/c take several years to dry out to the required levels. In this study we have looked at the parameters of concrete casting and how these affect the drying time. Calculations have been made in software with respect to weather, coverage, depth of water cement number and temperature at casting. Alternative methods have also been investigated such as separating the edge stiffening from the slab. The results show that changing the w/c or pouring with a cold concrete improves the drying process a lot.

The effects of cement extenders and water to binder ratio on the heat evolution characteristics of concrete

Greensmith, Christopher Graeme 31 October 2006 (has links)
Student Number : 9900772K - MSc research project - School of Civil and Environmental Engineering - Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment / The hydration of cement is an exothermic reaction, which begins almost immediately upon contact with water. This produces a large amount heat that subsequently raises the temperature of the concrete mixture, creating a temperature gradient across the member. The temperature rise associated with hydration induces thermo-mechanical stresses. These stresses can cause damage to the structure, affecting the durability and in extreme cases the functionality of the structure. If the maximum rate of heat evolution experienced can be minimised through the selection of the constituents of a concrete mixture, then the thermal stresses that develop in the concrete can be reduced. The main aim of this research is to develop a knowledge of how the heat evolution characteristics of concrete are affected by changing certain concrete mixture parameters and ingredients. The focus is on the addition of three different cement extenders and varying the water/cement ratio. This will be a step towards the development of a model for predicting the thermal properties of concrete. As a part of this investigation, a prediction model for the change in heat rate in concrete was developed. The model is intended to predict the contribution of the individual clinker crystallographic phases in cement and the heat liberated in concrete during hydration.

Impact de la rhéologie des matériaux cimentaires sur l’aspect des parements et les procédés de mise en place / Impact of the rheology of cementitious materials on the aspect of the concrete facing and the methods of setting up

Chuta Caceres, Edgar 26 June 2018 (has links)
This thesis deals with the study of the influence of the water variations in the concrete-formwork interface. The proposed approach is intended to analyze two aspects. • The role of the concrete mixing formulation, and the casting procedures on the finished mortar surface. • The movement of water in concrete formwork interface. Firstly, we search to confirm the phenomenological results on the relationship between the luminance of the concrete surface and its roughness, this last being governed by the local W/C ratio in the formwork interface. This relationship will be established for compositions of modern concrete. After, we will examine the role of operational factors on the granular segregation on the mortar surface and their consequences on the bleeding of the specimens, on the water movements as well as on the color of the surface. Parameters : Formulation parameters : granular composition, G/S, S/G, W/C ratio and admixtures Parameters of implementation: Temperature and relative humidity, vibration, waiting time, type of formwork, release agents. Maturation parameters: temperature, relative humidity, form release deadline and carbonation

Uttorkning av betong i nyproduktion / Drying of concrete in new production

Persson, Herman, Zamfir, Alexandru January 2020 (has links)
In the recent years, the manufacturing of concrete has undergone a change to make theprocesses and the material more environmentally friendly. This is accompanied by thefact that concrete is one of the most important building materials in the world. This islargely because concrete as a material is moisture resistant, does not mold and is highlyformable. The United Nations mentions 17 global goals whose mission is to promote sustainabilityin the future whereas the ninth one states that “Build resilient infrastructure, promoteinclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation”. This leads to the factthat it needs to take in consideration the manufacturing of concrete and its components. The purpose of this research is to show strengths and weaknesses in prediction tools forconcretes drying time by comparison with data from many measuring points. Besidesthat, the aim is to compare statistics of practical measurements, which were issued byConservator AB, with each other and with other three most commonly used programs inforecasting the drying time for concrete, i.e. TorkaS, BI-Dry and PPB.From the building sections that were researched, TorkaS gave the highest accuracy inforecasting the drying time and then followed very closely by PPB. In addition, BI-Drydid not meet the expected requirements on some of the building sections. Besides that, thestudy has shown that the drying time of concrete in new production is most influenced bythe drying climate and the thickness of the compound.
