Musikstreamingtjänster : En studie av musikstreamingtjänsters funktioner i förhållande till webbutvecklingen och användarens efterfrågan / Interactive music streaming services : An inventory of functions in music streaming services in relation to the web development and the demand of the user

Nykvist, Marilde January 2015 (has links)
New technological advancements have resulted in a shift of medium. Music interaction has moved from physical media such as CDs and MP3-players to digital music services on the Internet. Vast catalogues of music is today available from any device with Internet access for either a monthly cost or even in some cases for free. Even though many users subscribe for the music they consume the music industry still experience an uncertain economy. New interaction opportunities and new design principles have derived from the new medium. According to users some functions are more important than others, some functions are even missing. Which are these? Are the users’ needs equivalent to the web development and the current supply of function the services offer? With vast consumption and immense establishment together with the tie in economic factors and technological development music streaming services is a given media technological phenomenon. This study’s purpose is to analyze three important components in the case of music streaming services: the supply, the user’s perspective and the position according to the web development. In order to increase the understanding of these parts this study has completed an inventory of current supply of functions in seven music streaming services and a questionnaire to conclude the user’s perspective. The study uses the theory of Web 1.0, Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 to examine current position of the services in web development. Possibly in this way the study might discover strengths and weaknesses in the supply of the music streaming services and thereupon contribute to suggestion of improvement and functions. Functions which might help the development of music streaming services and increase more paying consumers. This study show that the current supply of functions music streaming services offer is in general equivalent to the users’ need. However, the users don’t value social functions as an important part in music streaming services. They value a great catalogue of songs and great accessibility with commercial free use. The supply of functions doesn’t differ a lot from service to service. Spotify is the leading services both in quantity of functions and in number of users. Regarding the position of functions most functions is placed within Web 2.0. Thus, the user show an indication of the importance of accessibility which suit the vision of the ubiquitous and pervasive webb of Web 3.0. Even though the theory of Web 2.0 was coined 15 years ago the interactive music web service is mostly a product of Web 2.0. Despite of the satisfaction in supply, in terms of sustainability, it might always be a value to continue to examine the user’s need, the industry’s demands and the technological development to reach the highest form of contentment from all parts.

The study also examines differences between large and small municipalities, because smaller enterprises have different conditions than larger enterprisers. First all Swedish municipalities’ sites were studied focusing on tourist information. Then, a theory was developed that categorizes the sites on a scale between web 1.0 and web 2.0 based on a number of criteria. Some examples of criteria that have been studied are whether the sites are interactive and how they make use of social media. The results of the study show that the majority of the tourist sites can be classified as web 1.3. None of the Swedish municipalities achieve web 2.0 through its tourist sites. 當非營利組織遇上Web 2.0-以倡議型非營利組織為例 / When Non-profit Organizations Meet Web 2.0–The Case of the Advocacy Non-profit Organizations

黃筠容, Huang, Yun Jung Unknown Date (has links)
The characteristics of Web 2.0 promote effective communication and require low skill. These characteristics are niche for nonprofit organizations (NPOs). According to the relevant studies, however, most NPOs can’t effectively communicate with potential supporters by making the best use of the Internet. Hence, the study aims to explore whether and how advocacy NPOs utilize Web 2.0 and the efficacy. The study samples advocacy NPOs and their websites. By snowball sampling, content analysis and in-depth interviews, the results show that these NPOs have been apparently utilizing Web 2.0 technologies as one of their tools to disseminate information and connect potential supporters. At first, most observed NPOs didn’t adopt Web 2.0 systematically, but they have found strengths of Web 2.0 from their practice, developed many strategies and succeeded in building relationship with their potential supporters. Additional findings indicate that the NPOs which use their websites to disseminate information gradually replace blogs with Facebook. Blogs, however, remain useful for the NPOs due to its advantage on information storage and information arrangement. Finally, although relevant research shows that most NPOs can’t utilize Facebook to communicate, our findings support that advocacy NPOs utilize Facebook to communicate and advocate. The research findings contribute to suggestions on NPOs and governments in practice. NPOs should improve their website’s content, develop integrated strategy to coordinate online and offline activities, enable their websites for fundraising and communication. In addition, government should increase convenience and creativity of their websites by applying Web 2.0 technology and disseminate information by social networking sites.

Informationsflödets dynamik : En studie av det digitala informationsflödets inverkan på medborgares förtroende för demokratins representativa institutioner / The dynamics of the flow of information : A study on the effects of the digital flow of information on citizen's trust towards the representative bodies within a democracy

Larsson, Andreas January 2019 (has links)
Previous research has found a diverging trend between utilising social media (web 2.0) and traditional news media (web 1.0) on citizens trust towards democracy and democratic processes. This essay aims to investigate if this trend holds true in a Swedish context during a non-election year, and in doing so hope to advance the understanding of said trend. Thus, the following essay will investigate the change in trust towards the representative bodies within Sweden, with regards to the effects of either using social media or traditional media online as a means to take part of the digital flow of information.                       This is done by utilizing the SOM-survey, which collects information regarding citizen’s attitudes and general opinions towards political, social and medial habits every year. The data from this survey is then transformed into various indexes, with regards to citizens use of either web 1.0 or web 2.0, and their trust towards political institutions, and tested in an MRA-analysis. The findings of this study confirm the diverging trend between using web 1.0 and web 2.0 on citizen’s political trust. However, the positive correlation between web 1.0 and trust loose its statistical significance when a higher level of education is a factor. That is to say, academics tend to be less affected by web 1.0 with regards to their trust in representative bodies within the democracy. However, on the other hand the opposite holds true for web 2.0, where an inclusion of a higher level of education strengthens a negative correlation.
