Pinglo Ramirez, Miguel Angel January 2016 (has links)

Rojas Gallardo, Darío January 2010 (has links)

Stabilizace zaměstnanců generace Y / Generation Y employees stabilization

Kazík, Tomáš January 2010 (has links)
In my thesis I dealt with the topic of stabilization Generation Y employees. The aim of this study was to determine which factors are the most important for the target group for stabilizing in the organization. In the target group there were people form Generation Y with university degree in economics. In the theoretical part I have described the staff stabilization process including all the variables that interfere in this process. After that I have introduced and characterized Generation Y people. At the end of the theoretical part I have introduced the studies, from which I drew information for my research. At the beginning of the research I've compiled a set of 20 stabilization factors. These factors came into qualitative research. After the qualitative research 7 factors were excluded and 13 advanced to the on-line questionnaire. The questionnaire has been completed by 737 respondents and the results showed four most important (TOP) stabilizing factors for the target group. These TOP 4 stabilizing factors were "job - interests alignment", "long career opportunities" "organizations respect to its employees" and "compensation".

Genetic Diversity in the Himalayan Populations of Nepal and Tibet

Gayden, Tenzin 19 March 2012 (has links)
The Himalayan Mountain range encompasses an unparalleled landscape featuring some of the planet’s highest peaks, including Mount Everest. In the heart of this massive orographic barrier lies Nepal, sandwiched in the historically geostrategic position between the Tibetan plateau to the north and India in the south. Until recently, Nepalese and Tibetan populations remained poorly characterized genetically, partly because of their inaccessible geographical locations. In the present study, the genetic diversity of these two Himalayan populations is evaluated using different marker systems, including mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) and Short Tandem Repeats (STRs) in the autosomes as well as on the Y-chromosome (Y-STR). While autosomal STRs are distributed throughout the genome and are biparentally inherited, the Y-chromosome and mtDNA are haploid markers and provide the paternal and maternal histories of the population, respectively. Fifteen autosomal STR loci were typed in 341 unrelated individuals from three Nepalese populations (188), namely Tamang (45), Newar (66) and Kathmandu (77), and a general collection from Tibet (153). These samples were also sequenced for the mtDNA control region and all of them were subsequently assigned to 75 different mtDNA haplogroups and sub-haplogroups by screening their diagnostic sites in the coding region using Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism analysis and/or sequencing, thus achieving an unprecedented level of resolution. The results from the autosomal and mtDNA data suggest a Northeast Asian origin for the Himalayan populations, with significant genetic influence from the Indian subcontinent in Kathmandu and Newar, corroborating our previous Y-chromosome study. In contrast, Tibet displays a limited Indian component, suggesting that the Himalayan massif acted as a natural barrier for gene flow from the south. The presence of ancient Indian mtDNA lineages in Nepal implies that the region may have been inhabited by the earliest settlers who initially populated South Asia. In addition, seventeen Y-STR loci were analyzed in 350 Tibetan males from three culturally defined regions of historical Tibet: Amdo (88), Kham (109) and U-Tsang (153). The results demonstrate that the 17 Y-STR loci studied are highly polymorphic in all the three Tibetan populations examined and hence are useful for forensic cases, paternity testing and population genetic studies.

EXTENSIONES AL LENGUAJE ADA Y A LOS SERVICIOS POSIX PARA PLANIFICACIÓN EN SISTEMAS DE TIEMPO REAL ESTRICTO

Espinosa Minguet, Agustín Rafael 07 November 2012 (has links)
Se ha caracterizado de forma analítica el efecto / ABSTRACT: This thesis is centered on the study of slack stealing and dual priority scheduling policies, both oriented to serve aperiodic tasks in hard real-time systems. These polices, largely studied in previous work, constitute an interesting alternative to policies based on aperiodic servers. However, the possibility of actually being put into practice had not been yet exhaustively evaluated. This has been the main objective of this thesis. Both policies are profoundly revised in this dissertation. In the case of the slack stealing policy, some of its weaknesses have been solved. In particular, this thesis shows that it is possible to share resources between hard and aperiodic tasks in a simple and efficient manner. This can be done by using the same priority inheritance protocols which are used in systems comprising hard tasks only. The applicability of these scheduling policies has been evaluated by means of their incorporation into the two most relevant hard real-time programming environments in use nowadays, the Ada programming language and the POSIX set of services. In order to fulfill this purpose, new interfaces for both policies have been defined in these two environments. These interfaces have been designed in order to be coherent with the environments¿ design principles and the services they currently support. This design has involved the adaptation of the original scheduling policies, trying to optimize the balance between performance and efficiency. As a part of this design, both interfaces have been implemented in the MaRTE OS operating system. These implementations have been useful for validating the different alternatives which have been considered throughout the design process. Since efficiency is an important aspect of any scheduling policy, this aspect has been extremely evaluated in this work. The effect of the implementation of both policies to the task response times has been analytically characterized. This effect has also been quantified, and then the efficiency of both policies has been compared with the fixed-priority preemptive scheduling policy, which is the one normally used in hard real-time systems. The results of this comparative study show that, although the overhead introduced by any VIII ABSTRACT of the two new policies is significant, this overhead lies in a reasonable range. The recently approved POSIX trace services have also been studied in this thesis. The necessity of having some analysis and measurement tools available for the efficiency studies carried out in this thesis led to the incorporation of these services into MaRTE OS. Related to this, a new POSIX/Ada interface for the trace services has also been proposed. In addition, the problem of obtaining temporal metrics of the system from the information of the traces has also been covered. / Espinosa Minguet, AR. (2003). MILLENNIAL ALUMNI GIVING: MOTIVATIONS FOR DONATING TO THEIR ALMA MATER

Unknown Date (has links)
Helping through acts of philanthropy is a cultural norm in the United States. People of all generations give to a variety of causes, including their alma maters. Research shows that millennials had positive experiences at their institutions and want to stay engaged. However, they are more likely to donate to their favorite cause than their alma mater. This study investigates what motivates the millennial generation to give to their undergraduate alma mater. Building on existing work targeted at giving, it asks: To what extent does personal experience affect millennials giving to their alma mater before graduation, during the process of graduation, and after graduation? Based on the review of literature on generational giving, and the theory of planned behavior, a survey was distributed targeting millennials who met the following two criteria: 1) born between 1980–2000, and 2) graduated with an undergraduate degree between 2005 and 2015. A secondary analysis of data was employed to correlate the findings from the close-ended survey and examine the giving trends among millennials and how those trends vary among the other three giving generations: mature/silents, baby boomers, and Generation X. / Includes bibliography. / Dissertation (Ph.D.)--Florida Atlantic University, 2020. / FAU Electronic Theses and Dissertations Collection
