______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This paper aims to establish a dialogue on the formation of the body politic of lesbians, streamlined and historical processes. And this mix of colors, as noted by Sappho, this kaleidoscope in the shape of the rainbow is created a historic building, which is a narrative. And so, in the process new forms, as Foucault put a political game and thinking as a subject. It also states that of the classical era to the contemporary era there is the great contribution that provides significant subsidies for the recognition of the diversity of identities, and that includes sexuality. Surely questioned the concept of identity leads to an understanding of the formation of the body politic of lesbians and the elements involved. The theoretical framework discussed in this dissertation is the centrality of poetry in Safo, thinkers (s) and philosophers. Finally, the fluidity of the body politic act allows certain originality to it. Thus, sexuality is placed under new creative ways, in a sense this means that lesbianism is not discovered, because it exists by the will and is inseparable from what one is.

¿Comunidad homosexual? Gays y lesbianas en Santiago de Chile.

Carrasco Caro, Maritza January 2005 (has links)

Guerrero Urra, Daniela January 2018 (has links)

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender immigrant acculturation experience

Fuks, Oleksandr January 2014 (has links)
The goal of the current study was to understand the process of acculturation of LGBT immigrants to Canada. I used the grounded theory approach to obtain an in-depth interpretive understanding of the subjective experience and perceptions related to the acculturation process of LGBT immigrants. The emerged grounded theory revealed that the acculturation experience of LGBT immigrants is formed by two consistent parallel subprocesses: cultural identity development and sexual identity development. Data analysis demonstrated that queerphobia in the culture of origin was a central phenomenon of the grounded theory, and played the most dominant role in the development of cultural and sexual parts of the LGBT immigrants' identity. Furthermore, the culture of LGBT immigrants' country of origin, as well as Canadian culture, strongly influenced their sexual identity development before and after immigration, and vice versa – their sexual identity development influenced the way LGBT immigrants relate to their culture of origin and to the Canadian culture before and after immigration. Moreover, the emerged grounded theory suggested that in the case of LGBT immigrants, the acculturation process often begins long before the beginning of the actual immigration process, as LGBT immigrants often assume a Western orientation as a response to queerphobia in their culture of origin. In addition, this study identified the perceived challenges and advantages that LGBT immigrants experience during the acculturation process, as well as presented variables responsible for the variety of acculturation outcomes. Finally, the study provided clinical implications and recommendations for mental health practitioners regarding the design and implementation of micro and macro level interventions that address multiple challenges LGBT immigrants face in their acculturation process.

Vinces-Guillén, Jessica-Marialaura January 2016 (has links)
Sexual orientation identity involves private and public ways of self-identification therefore it is considered as a key multidimensional element in the identity of people. Moreover, it has direct influence in making decisions in the personal and interpersonal sphere. Nevertheless, in Peru there is no scale that evaluates this construct in lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) people. Therefore, this research aimed to adapt and assess the psychometric properties of the Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Identity Scale (LGBIS) proposed by Mohr and Kendra (2011) on a sample of 378 LGB Peruvian people. First of all, a linguistic adaptation of the scale was done. Later, appropriate validity evidence based on test content was assessed by 6 experts in the topic. Validity evidence based on internal structure was estimated by an exploratory factor analysis which showed a multidimensional solution of two factors. Consequently, this structure differed from the original version. The two dimensions were identified as: uncertainty and acceptance concerns (ordinal a = .88, EEM = 3.29) and identity integration (ordinal a = .91 EEM = 1.86), According to these results, a new scale was proposed: “The Lesbian, gay and bisexual dimensions of Sexual Orientation Identity Scale” (EDOS-LGB). In conclusion, results showed that interpretations based on the scores obtained by adapting the EDOSLGB presents validity and reliability evidence in lesbian, gay and bisexual people from Perú. / Tesis

Lesbian Marriage

Parks, Sandi 01 May 1975 (has links)
Research findings on marriage as a heterosexual institution were reviewed and research was carried out to determine if certain of them were applicable to lesbian “marriage” as well. Marriage was defined as a relationship in which two people have lived together with strong emotional and sexual involvement for a year or more. Subjects were volunteers from among women age 22 or older, who were childless, and who were involved in the women's movement, as well as their friends, lovers and husbands. There were 14 lesbian couples, 14 lesbians who has never been married and 6 lesbians who had been married but weren’t currently and who were involved in a sexual relationship at the time of the study. Subjects were asked to fill out various forms, including (not all subjects completed all the forms) a questionnaire of background information; Interpersonal Checklists on actual-self, ideal-self, lover or spouse, how they think their spouse (or lover) sees them, how they think their spouse (or lover) sees herself (himself); a Security-Insecurity Inventory; a Marital-Roles Inventory; and a Socioemotional Valuation Index. Results indicated that for this population of lesbians and heterosexuals: Homogeneous trait matching occurs among lesbians so that a mate is chosen who is perceived as resembling the self (p≤.005). The evidence did not support the theory of ideal-self-fulfillment, proposed by Karp, Jackson and Lester, for lesbians; Married lesbians do not score higher in insecurity on a Security-Insecurity test than never-married lesbians, the average score for this sample being almost exactly the same (single lesbians scoring higher). There is insufficient evidence to conclude that heterosexually married women score higher in insecurity than married lesbians though results were in the expected direction (p≤.15); Marital satisfaction is higher among lesbians than among women involved in a heterosexual marriage (p≤. 05); There is insufficient evidence to conclude that spouses in lesbian marriage make more nearly equal amounts of adjustment than do spouses in heterosexual marriage, though results were in the expected direction (p≤. 1). Although none of the hypotheses concerning interpersonal perception and marital satisfaction were supported by the evidence it was tentatively concluded from looking at the pattern of the results that lesbian marriages are not split into roles so that one partner is assigned the instrumental, task-oriented roles and the other the expressive, integrative roles.
