Um estudo antropológico das práticas pedagógicas desenvolvidas no seminário integrado na instituição de ensino Edna May Cardoso / An anthropological study of the pedagogical practices developed in the integrated seminar on educational institution Edna May Cardoso

Luquini, Jerfferson Paim 02 May 2016 (has links)
This research, carried out with the post-graduate program in Social Sciences of the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) in the line of research called Social Identities, Ethnicity and Education, investigated the pedagogical practices developed in the discipline of integrated seminar, leading In consideration of the (im) possibilities of an interdisciplinary practice in the area of Human Sciences. In order to develop this research, I set out to answer the following research problem: Considering the Pedagogical Proposal for Polytechnic Secondary Education and Integrated Professional Education for Higher Education 2011-2014, how are the pedagogical practices developed within the framework of the integrated seminar taking place? Into account the dialogue between Philosophy, Sociology, History and Geography? For that, the investigative course was: Ethnographic work carried out at the Edna May Cardoso School, located in the eastern part of the city of Santa Maria-RS, in addition to in-depth interviews with teachers. The data reveal how challenging the restructuring proposal of High School is, as well as shows the difficulties of teachers in creating an interdisciplinary dialogue within the discipline of integrated seminar. Thus, in view of the whole scenario found, we conclude that the dialogue between the disciplines does not occur for a number of factors, such as: working hours in more than one school, single teachers planning and conducting activities related to the discipline of Seminar, and the system is still structured in a disciplinary way. This last factor brings with it a particularity, since breaking with this disciplinary tradition, and from then on starting to work in an interdisciplinary way has been one of the issues facing the integrated seminar and the teachers. Finally, it was identified, described and problematized the pedagogical practices found, mapping the possibilities and impossibilities of an interdisciplinary practice that emerged from it, seeking at all times to make a dialogue in the interface between the Anthropology and the Sociology of Education.

A canoa da escritura formativa: trajetórias do barro pelo rio ao mar / The formative writing canoe: trajectories of the clay through the river to the sea

Miraci Tamara Castro 24 September 2015 (has links)
The dissertation investigates the formative writing simultaneously as creative and as formative process. Therefore, the background of this research is an autobiographical approach from essay (Larossa, 2006) largely tinted by the researchers poetic work in an intense dialogue with thinkers, writers and woman writers who has the word as research and artistic creation universe, including the phenomenological perspective of Gaston Bachelard, hermeneutic-symbolic of Ferreira-Santos (1998, 2004 and others), Ferreira-Santos and Almeida (2001 and 2012), Loureiro (2008), Willms (2013) and Rubira (2006 and 2015) and poets of the earth Guimarães Rosa and Manoel de Barros and poets of water Neide Arcanjo and Clarice Lispector. The poetic research during the process itself (in process) explains the difficulties, obstacles, hesitations and rich writing and poetic derived from production process, more like record than as a product. Such unusual investigative style to traditional models of academic research also backed by an Aristotelian logic and Cartesian thought, linear and thoughtful; presents itself in the unfolding investigation and imagery in word metaphors with clay, the shell, the canoe, the river and the sea, comparing the crossing as a major formative metaphor. With stylish originality, this research writing himself, tries to contribute to the initial training process of teachers in both the specificity of the field of literature and education in general to make use of writing of essays and authorial how artistic creation and himself and the arts like form to understand the alterity.

"It made our eyes get bigger" : youth filmmaking and citizenship in London

Blum-Ross, Alicia Lorna January 2011 (has links)
This thesis explores the ways in which discourses of citizenship are circulated and incorporated into the practice of non-formal educational filmmaking initiatives for young people in London. I utilise an ethnographic approach focusing on young participants, adult facilitators and funders to demonstrate how youth filmmaking facilitates an exploration of abstract conceptions of citizenship with the on-the-ground reality of young peoples’ “practice” as citizens. To provide context for this material, I present both a theoretical overview of the heady yet labile term “citizenship” and a historical narrative of youth filmmaking, particularly in its relationship to wider political economies of funding and youth policy. Although discourses of citizenship in youth filmmaking have changed subtly over time, the youth filmmaking programmes considered here marshal three central conceptions of citizenship; “engagement,” “empowerment” and “belonging.” To explore each of these notions, I draw on case studies to show how these citizenship discourses become operationalised. First, I consider the Reelhood project for young Muslims, which aimed at encouraging “political engagement.” I demonstrate how young people challenge notions of “disengagement” and operate as “justice-oriented” citizens, in contradistinction to the premise of the funding source itself. Second, I use the example of the This is My Story project, amongst other films that dealt with youth violence, to explore discourses of “empowerment.” Using the metaphor of the “shot/reverse shot” sequence, I demonstrate how youth filmmaking projects situate themselves as an alternative to the representation of young people in mainstream press. Finally, I describe the River Lea project in which the sensory and technological processes of filmmaking became a means for young people to “focus in” and attune their sensory and perceptive faculties to the experience of “place-making.” Each of these case studies exhibits how the creative, social and technical processes of filmmaking provide a challenge to or re-interpretation of citizenship discourse.

Silva, Alessandra Estevam January 2018 (has links)
This dissertation aims to study the flows of science and learning conceptions produced in and mediated by the school, specifically in physics teaching. Its interface fields are Anthropology of Science, Education in Sciences, and Anthropology of Education and Learning. The empirical focus of the research is the teaching practices in the Physics classes and in the extracurricular activities of the astronomy club of the Military College of Porto Alegre. Methodologically, observations were made in loco, with notes in the field diary, and semi-structured interviews with teachers. It was tried to understand what are the peculiarities of teaching Physics in a school crossed by the military aspect. The following hypotheses were proposed: 1) CMPA Physics teachers constitute a community of practice; 2) The Physics laboratory and the astronomy club are mediators of the teaching and learning process of physics and astronomy. It is also suggested that the anthropological view on educational practices in science can contribute to elucidate the problem of discontinuity between academic research on an adequate view of Nature of Science and the teaching-learning process in school. In order to do so, it is argued that the dimension of materiality and social relations must be considered symmetrically in the understanding of the relations between scientific and scholastic knowledge. It starts from an epistemological conception in which the knowledge is an incarnated experience and the reality is performed by the subjects in a dynamic and interactive process with the material flows.

A Educação escolar indígena entre os Wassu-Cocal: algumas pistas sobre a concepção da educação escolar a partir de seus professores / the indigenous school education between the Wassu-Cocal: some clues about the design of school education from their teachers

Pereira, Jéssika Danielle dos Santos 30 May 2014 (has links)
The present work analyzes the construction of the concept of Indigenous school education between the Wassu-Cocal, especially among the indigenous tutors and leaders. The Wassu people-Cocal is located in the zona da mata alagoana the 84 km from Maceió and 16 km from the city of Joaquim Gomes. We understand that the Indigenous Education refers to the processes of production and transmission of indigenous peoples ' own knowledge and that every nation has its particular way of doing it. However, we point out that in the process of construction of the design of this education are involved multiple social actors. In addition to the teachers, are entered into this process the students, families, the community and the State itself. O last through official documents, including the Constitution of 1988, the National curricular parameters (PCN/1997), the law of Guidelines and Bases for national education (LDBEN/1996), the National Education Plan (PNE/2001-2010; PNE/2011-2020) and, in the specific case of Wassu-Cocal, also the education of Alagoas State plan (ESSP/2006-2015). To help us understand the relationships that these agents between you and the way the design of Indigenous school education is being built, and how it connects to the cultural context in which this educational practice is embedded, we adopt the Ethnography as methodological instrument. The field research was held from 03 May-06 December 2013, together with the teachers/the indigenous Indian State school José Maximum. Research has shown us that the design of the Indigenous school education between the Wassu-Cocal is constructed from the interrelation of the agents, by seizing and spread ethnoknowledge construction, built in various spaces in the village. Is construction represents, in this sense, the ethnic identity of the people Wassu-Cocal, which should be full by the school, a place of (re) affirmation and maintain your way of being. The survey also pointed out that the inclusion of indigenous teachers at the top level have modified the teaching practice and the social dynamics of the village; their actions have driven the agents involved in the school to recognize in this fight for a school and indigenous education.

Following concerns built from my experience as a teacher, I have conducted an ethnographical research that pointed out to differences in the definition, classification and contemplation of art objects between students and teachers at Art-Education classes. From an ethnography carried out at two 5th grades of elementary education at public schools in Sao Carlos-SP, it was possible to notice on processes of construction of knowledge that children, besides teachers, as well as art objects and other field agents, are active subjects in those learning relationship. Their drawings contributed to highlight that relationships constructed in the teaching-learning process affect the ways of knowing, appreciating and making art. They also showed that children act in a particular way toward art objects. Finally, ethnography led to reflections about art-education for children, as well as about our own art system.

L'éducation à la vie (inochi) à l'école primaire au Japon : approche anthropologique au miroir du 21e siècle / Life education in Japanese primary schools : an anthropological approach reflecting of the 21st century

Inoue, Sunami 16 June 2017 (has links)
This research focuses on the pedagogical practices of teachers relating to the development of self-respect, respect of others and the lives of primary students in Japan. “Life education” is linked to the social and educational contexts of the emergence of bullying, violence, refusal to go to school and suicide among children and young people, which are often associated with psychological problems such as low self-esteem, depressive tendency, insufficient relational and communication development. A survey was carried out among different adult educational actors at the primary school level in the city of Kyoto. Adopting an anthropological approach, life education was examined based on empirical data. The results show that by teaching life education, teachers fully participate in the cultural education and socialization of pupils, while at the same time educating them about cultural and social norms and values.

Re-Envisioning the Future: A Research Study about Increased Plastic Pollution from Desalination Plants and Environmental Education in Texas

Gutierrez, Gabriela L. 05 1900 (has links)
This study examines the relationship between proposed desalination plants and increased plastic pollution along the Texas Gulf Coast. It specifically focuses on their expected impact on communities in the area and was conducted for Society of Native Nations. The goal was to gather information about environmental ideologies and experiences from different environmental experts and scientists to educate community members and inform policy recommendations. The study relied on semi structured interviews and archival research to understand how environmental experts and scientists envision the future, how they interpret the impact of desalination plants as related to plastic pollution. Ideas that guided this research include decolonial methodologies, political ecology, Indigenous research agendas, environmental justice and knowledge, cultural hybridity, and the anthropology of the borderlands. This research provides actionable steps and recommendations to improve environmental education in Texas Gulf Coast communities on the U.S./Mexico border and to reduce plastic pollution in order to ensure that these communities have ample amounts of water supply without relying on desalination plants.

Identifying the Needs of Precollegiate Anthropology Teachers

Hoffmann, Michael P 08 1900 (has links)
Anthropology is an underrepresented subject in precollegiate education. Despite concerted institutional efforts through organizations such as the American Anthropological Association (AAA), there has not been significant growth in the field. Although the field of anthropology has not shown significant growth at the precollegiate level, there does exist a presence of precollegiate anthropology, especially through the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) and standalone courses at schools at the elementary through high school level. Many of these standalone courses were created by an individual teacher. This applied thesis used anthropological methods to identify if a social network exists among precollegiate anthropology teachers while also examining how the AAA can create and/or facilitate a stronger community of precollegiate anthropology teachers. Linking to institutions such as the Advanced Placement program in addition to IB may create the critical mass to encourage a positive feedback loop which produces more anthropology students at the college level and more individuals who create standalone courses. With a growth in precollegiate programs, the existing social networks within and outside the AAA will grow.
