This thesis argues that contemporary theorizations of online identities on social-networking sites (SNS) require more robust accounts of the relationship between language, perfomativity, and the tensions of the material/virtual binary. In her analysis of subject formation on multi-user domains, Internet sociologist Jenny Sundén uses poststructuralist philosophy to theorize identity as a process of “textual performativity”. Citing Sundén, many contemporary sociologists theorizing subjectivity on SNS use the terms “writing the self” and “performing the self” and overlook the poststructuralist philosophy that informs them. To explore the lack of philosophical analyses within sociological accounts of subject formation on SNS, and to rethink “writing” and “performing” the self, I draw on the work of J.L. Austin, Judith Butler and Jacques Derrida. I argue that creating a self on SNS is a ”sedimentation” process whereby different discursive identity performances are reiterated over time, and I investigate the implications of archiving and externalizing the self.

Following contemporary readings/writings of the ghosts of Hamlet’s father, in particular those of Derrida, Borges, and Joyce, this study intends to further elucidate the affiliation between scholar, spectre, and archive. This work demonstrates how Hamlet both conforms to a scholarly process of archivization and a silencing of the ghost, and simultaneously renders a slipping away of the spectre at its precise point of capture, engendering the infinite archive that is “irreducible by explanation” (Derrida, 1998, p. 87) and never closed. It is this opening and pulling apart, this expansion at the point of its closure, that allows the ghosts of Shakespeare and his Hamlet to enter into the texts of Borges, Joyce, and Derrida.

Η παρούσα μελέτη εστιάζει σε καλλιτεχνικές πρακτικές αρχειακού τύπου οι οποίες στο τέλος του 20ού και στις αρχές του 21ου αιώνα έχουν λάβει σταδιακά κεντρική θέση στην ευρύτερη κατηγορία της τεκμηριωτικής πρακτικής (documentary art practices). Οι αρχειακές πρακτικές, σε πιο εναλλακτικές εκφράσεις, συνδέθηκαν με ακτιβιστικές και επιτελεστικές μορφές τέχνης. Η ολοένα και πυκνότερη παρουσία αρχειακών έργων στο πεδίο της τέχνης έχει ως αποτέλεσμα να είναι εφικτός ο προσδιορισμός κοινών φορμαλιστικών, εννοιολογικών, τεχνικών χαρακτηριστικών, σε βαθμό που να μπορούμε να κάνουμε λόγο για την παρουσία ενός διακριτού καλλιτεχνικού είδους. Esta tese tem como procedimento a montagem de uma maquinaria de pesquisa que envolve a coleta de cartas, o mergulho no universo prisional e o retorno, em busca de ar, à superfície da escrita. As missivas provêm intencionalmente de diferentes momentos históricos do cárcere: ditadura civil-militar e Estado de exceção atual. Colocando em atividade a engasgada máquina, a correspondência recolhida é tomada como dispositivo para produção de biografemas – biografias inventadas e fragmentárias – sem compromisso com dados e fatos comprováveis pelos grandes arquivos. Assim, os biografemas, de remetentes e destinatários das cartas, criam uma insólita realidade em que a escrita é performatizada como ato de testemunhar, dando luz a um passado que não está nos arquivos, mas no ato de retirar de sua poeira esquecida o que insiste. A pesquisa contenta-se em interrogar o próprio campo e assim criar uma ambiência noturna, sabidamente inabitável. Finda na proposição inútil de um cenário sem espetáculo. Efeito do método empregado, em que o texto é uma entidade viva, instala a barulhenta polifonia, própria da palavra. Para tanto, autores como Roland Barthes, Gilles Deleuze, Michel Foucault, Maurice Blanchot e Marcel Proust, em sua potência de ativar o pensamento, serão peças vitais da engrenagem. Tal maquinaria é montada visando a máxima proliferação imaginativa. Para que a sensibilidade alcance sua plenitude na montagem dos cenários construídos. Para que a língua não se resuma a um sistema de signos amorfos, esgote o possível e abra espaços ao impossível. Prolifere em um modelo ontológico de criação de seres, esquivando à representação inerte de um mundo terminado. / The process of this dissertation is the assemblage of a research machine which consists of the gathering of letters, an immersion into a carceral universe and the return to the surface of writing in search of air. The letters are drawn intentionally from various moments in the history of the prison-house: the civil-military dictatorship and the present Penal State. Firing up this faltering machine, the collected correspondence is subsumed as a dispositif towards the production of biographemes—fabricated and fragmentary biographies—unencumbered by facts or data corroborated in archives of high regard. Thus, the biographemes of senders and recipients of these letters create an unconventional reality where the writing is turned performance. This is as an act of testimony which brings to light a perduring past which arises not in the archives but in the removal of the dust overlying the forgotten bygone. The research is fulfilled by a questioning of the field itself thus creating a nocturnal ambiance, widely recognised as uninhabitable, and ends with the useless proposition of a stage without a spectacle. As an effect of the method used, a noisy polyphony proper to the word installs itself in which the text becomes a living entity. Hence, authors such as Roland Barthes, Gilles Deleuze, Michel Foucault, Maurice Blanchot and Marcel Proust, through their potential to activate thought, are vital elements of the assemblage. The machinery is set up aiming for maximal imaginative proliferation in order to exhaust the possible and to open spaces into the impossible; thus, sensibility can attain its plenitude in the montage of created scenarios; and language will not be reduced to a system of amorphous signs. Proliferating within an ontological model of creation of beings, we avoid the inert representation of a finished world.

Dentre os inúmeros desafios que a Arquivística tem sido exposta, a estruturação em termos de linguagem especializada é citada por teóricos como sendo de grande relevância. Partindo do pressuposto que a sedimentação de alguns conceitos básicos contribui para avançar em direção ao desenvolvimento da área, buscou se conhecer, de modo comparativo, a concepção de professores e de teóricos da área, a respeito de termos como "arquivo" e "informação arquivística". Os professores selecionados foram àqueles responsáveis pelo ensino de aspectos fundamentais, contemplados em disciplinas oferecidas nas séries iniciais dos cursos de Arquivologia do Brasil. A abordagem utiliza a análise teórica descritiva para a exposição do posicionamento dos teóricos e professores e em que medida existe corelação entre esses dois grupos. Observou-se que o referencial teórico que sustenta o ensino arquivístico no Brasil é caracterizado pelo uso de autores nacionais que disseminam sua produção científica em periódicos. Em relação ao conceito "arquivo" pareceu haver maior desenvoltura por parte dos professores em apresentar uma definição que, quase sempre, está refletida pela literatura nacional. No entanto, "informação arquivística" é um termo que causa certo desconforto na comunidade arquivística, de modo geral / Abstract: The identity of a scientific discipline is linked to the ability to clearly distinguish its object of study, apply its own methods and develop a specialized language so that it is possible to establish relationships at different levels, with other disciplines. Among the many challenges that the Archival Science has been exposed, the act of structuring in terms of specialized language is mentioned by theorists as being of great significance. Assuming that the consolidation of some basic concepts helps to move toward the development of the area, this study aimed to investigate, through a comparison, the conception of professors and theorists in this area about terms such as "archive" and "archival information". The selected professors were those responsible for teaching fundamental aspects taught in the first series of courses on Archival Science in Brazil. The approach uses theoretical-descriptive analysis for exposure of the positioning of theorists and professors, it discusses to what extent there is correlation between these two groups. It was observed that the theoretical referential that supports archival education in Brazil is characterized by the approach of national authors who disseminate their scientific output in journals. The professors' conception on the concepts reveals, at times, the shallowness with which the issue has been handled. Regarding the term "archive", it seemed to be a greater boldness on professors' part to present a definition that is nearly always a reflection of what the national literature professes. However, in relation to "archival information", it is noticed that it is still a term that causes some discomfort in the archival community in general / Doutor

The study has started from an archive consisting of twenty field notebooks, which registered an experience of pedagogic coordination in a social project called Pão & Beleza (between 2007 and 2010), realized by Centro de Defesa dos Direitos Humanos de Petrópolis RJ. As reference of life a group of homeless, people served by the project mentioned above, which in this study were called ungovernable, has been taken. To work with this archive the conceptual tools forged by the philosophy of difference and its authors Michel Foucault and Gilles Deleuze has been used seeking to draw a conceptual cartography. This cartography has the affections as a first step towards the conceptual elaboration, ie, first let themselves be influenced by the forces present in the research. These affects force us to think and thereby to create means to make visible and sayable these forces that belongs to the field of sensations. The inconstancy, refusal and courage or truth are the concepts used to outline the common name ungovernable. The inconstancy, which is between the acceptance of a certain mode of government of others over himself and the government of the self over the self; refusal, founding gesture of an ungovernable way of life, and the courage of truth, inspired by cynical, which is an offshoot and a complement of refusal. / A partir de um arquivo constituído por vinte cadernos de campo, que registraram uma experiência em coordenação pedagógica no projeto social Pão & Beleza (entre 2007 e 2010), realizado pelo Centro de Defesa dos Direitos Humanos de Petrópolis - RJ, o presente trabalho buscou pensar em modos de resistência ao governamento da vida na contemporaneidade, tendo como referência os modos de vida de um grupo de moradores de rua atendidos pelo projeto acima mencionado, os quais foram denominados ingovernáveis. Trabalhamos com este arquivo utilizando ferramentas teóricas forjadas pela filosofia da diferença, principalmente os autores Michel Foucault e Gilles Deleuze, buscando realizar uma cartografia conceitual. Esta cartografia tem os afetos como primeiro passo para a elaboração conceitual, ou seja, primeiro deixa-se afetar pelas forças presentes na pesquisa. São esses afetos que nos forçam a pensar e, desse modo, criar meios para tornar visíveis e dizíveis estas forças próprias do campo das sensações. Tomamos, então, os conceitos de inconstância, recusa e coragem da verdade para traçar os contornos do nome comum ingovernáveis. A inconstância, que está entre a aceitação de um certo modo de governo dos outros sobre si mesmo e a afirmação do governo de si sobre si mesmo; a recusa, como gesto fundador de um modo de vida ingovernável; e a coragem da verdade, de inspiração Cínica, que é um desdobramento e um complemento da recusa.

CoordenaÃÃo de AperfeiÃoamento de Pessoal de NÃvel Superior / Guilherme Studart, que construiu sua representaÃÃo como intelectual e erudito, escreveu obras de referÃncia para a HistÃria do CearÃ, sendo, em parte, reconhecido por seus pares devido à formaÃÃo da âColeÃÃo Studartâ. Dessa forma, sua trajetÃria està atrelada à constituiÃÃo do seu acervo. O objetivo deste trabalho à analisar seu arquivo privado, refletindo sobre os modos de aquisiÃÃo da coleÃÃo e sobre a constituiÃÃo da memÃria do proprietÃrio da coleÃÃo sobre si mesmo. Buscamos tambÃm investigar aspectos concernentes à produÃÃo, circulaÃÃo e recepÃÃo de autores e livros na cidade de Fortaleza a partir de instituiÃÃes de saber e do intercÃmbio epistolar promovido por Guilherme Studart nessas associaÃÃes. Esses aspectos podem ser percebidos nas correspondÃncias trocadas entre Guilherme Studart e diversos intelectuais que comentam sobre as dificuldades de escrita, publicaÃÃo e circulaÃÃo de suas obras, alÃm de relatarem suas âapropriaÃÃesâ de autores e livros em Ãmbito nacional e internacional. / Guilherme Studart, that made his representation as an intellectual and learned person, wrote works of reference for the historiography of CearÃ, and was recognized by his compeers, partly due to the formation of the "Studart Collection". Thus, his history is linked to the constitution of his heritage. The aim of this paper is to analyze his personal archive, thinking about the means of acquisition and about the formation of the memory of its owner about himself. Also, we investigate the means of production, printing, circulation and reception of writers and books in Fortaleza, based on knowledge institutions and on the correspondence exchange promoted by Studart in those institutions. In those correspondence, several intellectuals comment on the difficulties of writing, publication and circulation of their works, and report its "appropriation" of national and international writers and books.

Em um campo que sofre constantes transformações, muitos profissionais da informática e correlatos ainda têm dificuldade em distinguir entre o 'programa gratuito' e 'programa livre'. Este documento transpõe para o universo da Comunicação em Multimeios uma pesquisa com objetivos teóricos e práticos acerca dos benefícios da tecnologia de 'código aberto' para o setor de Multimeios. Como objeto de estudo, foi desenvolvido um sistema Web com a tríade PHP, MySQL e Apache para o Arquivo Sonoro Neotropical, fundado em 1977 e atualmente dirigido pelo Prof. Jacques Vielliard. Tudo se inicia com uma fundamentação teórica que expõe definições e polêmicas, bem como justifica a escolha das linguagens acima mencionadas, que têm sido o centro das atenções nos últimos tempos. Órgãos internacionais utilizam essas ferramentas para a inclusão digital e o avanço das pesquisas científicas, em reação aos altos preços impostos pelo mercado proprietário. Será observado como é possível a autosustentabilidade dentro da proposta do livre e gratuito. Intenciona-se apontar qual o espaço reservado ao setor de multimeios dentro deste cenário e quais os benefícios para pesquisadores e profissionais da comunicação em audiovisual. Este trabalho pretende demonstrar que essas linguagens e tecnologias são confiáveis e podem auxiliar o profissional de comunicação em multimeios no gerenciamento de arquivos de multimídia / Abstract: People are watching a war between software free movement and proprietary industry. In a place with constant changes there are a lot of people, professionals from this area or not, that just can't understand important nuance between 'open source' and 'software free'. This document transport to the Multimeios Communication language important concepts about software free and open source movement. We'll to know important discoveries to that area knowledge. The web system called Arquivo Sonoro Neotropical is our study object, and He was building with PHP, MySQL e Apache technologies. He was founded in 1977 and still under the same administration, the scientist Jacques Vielliard. In the beginning the reader will understand definitions, polemics thoughts and a justification about digital inclusion and for the selected languages and technologies. On the other hand, we going to know what the proprietary industry does to still on the dispute. We going to appoint some solutions that free technologies has to Multimeios, specially with audio edition. O presente trabalho tem por objetivo traçar um panorama da vida do poeta Murilo Mendes na Europa entre as décadas de 1950 e 1970, através das cartas enviadas por ele a sua irmã Virgínia Mendes Torres. Com base na análise desse conjunto epistolar é possível refazer parte da trajetória do poeta mineiro que transplantado em território estrangeiro atuou nos meios acadêmico, literário e artístico, representando o Brasil e construindo sua própria vertente do modernismo brasileiro. / The current work aims to draw a prospect of the poet Murilo Mendes life in Europe among the decades of 1950 and 1970, through the letters sent by him and his sister Virgínia Mendes Torres. Considering the analysis of that epistolary group is possible to redo part of the poet\'s trajectory that transplanted in foreign territory acted in the academic, literary and artistic means representing Brazil and building his own view of the Brazilian modernism.
