[en] A SOFTWARE INFRASTRUCTURE FOR CATALOG MATCHING / [pt] UMA INFRA-ESTRUTURA DE SOFTWARE PARA ALINHAMENTO DE CATÁLOGOS HETEROGÊNEOS

ALEXANDRE GAZOLA 29 May 2008 (has links)
[en] Most databases are independently designed and, therefore, are usually implemented using different conceptual schemas, which creates a context of syntactic, structural and semantic-level heterogeneity. Nevertheless, when a set of databases refers to a common domain, it may become necessary to integrate them into a single database, or to intermediate access to the databases in a transparent way. To deal with the heterogeneity problem, it becomes necessary to align the conceptual schemas. This process is usually carried out by domain specialists, and tends to be tedious and error-prone. This dissertation presents the CatalogMatcher, a software infrastructure for catalog matching. A catalog stores data about a set of objects from a specific domain, typically classified by some sort of taxonomy or thesaurus. The CatalogMatcher contains components that implement instance-based alignment strategies.

CatÃlogos de ExposiÃÃo: a circulaÃÃo das obras de Raymundo Cela / Exhibition Catalogs: the circulation of the works of Raymundo Cela

Delano Pessoa Carneiro Barbosa 30 May 2017 (has links)

Também foi possível avaliar o conhecimento dos agricultores sobre a cobrança pelo uso de recurso hídrico e desenvolver uma metodologia para a estimar a qualidade da irrigação a partir de um índice simplificado (IQI), com a identificação de aspectos relacionados ao uso de sistemas de irrigação / Abstract: Recent researches demonstrate that the use of water for agriculture represents 60% of total consumption of freshwater in Brazil and that many irrigation systems do not have any control of the use of water for this activity. Also, it is estimated that 40% of the water applied in irrigation is misused by percolation and superficial drainage, what generates a great number of impacts to soil and water, such as compactation and sealing of superficial soil, silting up of water bodies, decrease of quality, and wasting of hydric resource, promoting a negative effect on the river basin. With the duty of payment of a tariff for use of water, irrigated agriculture will deserve special attention, with the developmente of education programs to stimulate the correct handling of equipments and to disseminate knowledge about water and soil conservation. This study was carried out on irrigated areas in Jundiaí, Jarinú and Campo Limpo Paulista County, located in the Jundiaí-Mirim River basin, in São Paulo state (Brazil), with the purpose to develop a simple methodology to diagnose the use of water for crop irrigation in the area and to catalog the farmers. It also included an evaluation of the irrigation quality process in the farms using an Irrigation Quality Index (IQI), which is based on parameters related to water, soil, irrigated crop and handling of equipments. In the methodology development, it was used field research with questionnaires, Global Position System (GPS), Geographical Information System (GIS) and specific software for these systems. With the obtained results, it was elaborated the analysis of the use of water in local irrigation and organized a digital databank, available for use by public institutions and other people interested on the development of public policies on environmental monitoring and water resources. It was also possible to evaluate the farming knowledge about the duty of payment of a tariff for use of water, and to develop a methodology to estimate de quality of irrigation with some simple parameters that identify aspects related to the use of irrigation systems / Mestrado / Agua e Solo / Mestre em Engenharia Agrícola

Nástroje pro katalogizaci otevřených dat / Cataloging tools for OpenData

Šedivec, Tomáš January 2014 (has links)
The whole work is dealing with so-called. OpenData. Since this topic is very extensive, this paper focuses only on cataloging tools (catalogs) for open data. The main reason for this narrower focus is still great variability and new technologies that are of interest not only for the individuals or institutions but also for the whole public administration. For example at the beginning of this work none Czech national open data catalog existed, in the course of writing it managed to launch and now works almost flawlessly. Therefore, it is an important part of a retrospective view. The main objective of this work is to analyze the situation of the national catalogs of open data in selected locations, mapping the requirements of catalogs by avaible documents, creation of criteria and assessed according to criteria selected cataloging tool. Benefits include compiled criteria that can serve additional work or other purposes, and the aforementioned retrospective view. The structure of the work will be divided into several basic blocks, which can be summarized into the structure: Introduction, practical part, analytical part, conclusion. The introduction explains the reasons and aims of work and achievement. The practical part describes the past and present status issues. In the analytical part are assessed as suitable criteria / requirements that are applied to the selected tool. In the end everything is summed up.

Grafická tvorba Jana Jiřího Balzera inspirovaná Norbertem Grundem ve sbírkách Národní galerie v Praze / Graphic creation of Jan Jiri Balzer inspired by Norbert Grund in the collections of The National Gallery in Prague

Kadlecová, Žaneta January 2012 (has links)
The target of my dissertation is to draw the character of the graphical works created by Jan Jiří Balzer which are kept in the collections of the National gallery in Prague. The resource of the graphical works of J. J. Balzer according to Norbert Grund includes more than five hundred and fifty items which remained almost non-elaborated. That's why, I would try to sort out and catalogue them. Beyond my dissertation, I would like to introduce a personality of the contemporary artist who is at the time the founder of an engraving plant and a successful businessman - who managed to interest the Czech graphical market of the second half of the 18-th century. As well as, I try to clarify, on base of the critical studying of available sources and literature, the circumstances which lead the artist to the graphical performance of the Norbert Grund's painting works. And last but not least I would like to outline the production of Jan Jiří Balzer in context of the contemporary creation and collecting of the 18-th century.

Making Digital Libraries Flexible, Scalable and Reliable: Reengineering the MARIAN System in JAVA

Zhao, Jianxin 09 July 1999 (has links)
There is a great need for digital libraries that are flexible, scalable, and reliable. Few such systems exist. Little is known about how to build them. This thesis addresses these problems by enhancing a prototype digital library system with the aim of making it more flexible, scalable, and reliable. We hypothesize that: 1) adding a new (user information) layer and maintaining weak coupling in the design of a digital library system can help achieve system flexibility; 2) optimizing network connection usage and facilitating distribution of computation and disk operations in system design can help achieve system scalability; and 3) applying good software processes can help university students produce a very reliable system. Approaches based on the above hypothesis were used in the project of Reengineering the MARIAN System in Java. The results of the project and experiments verified the correctness of the hypothesis. The results of this thesis may help inform future digital library design and implementation projects to produce flexible, scalable, and reliable systems. / Master of Science

Identifying and documenting false positive patterns generated by static code analysis tools

Reynolds, Zachary P. 18 July 2017 (has links)
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) / Static code analysis tools are known to flag a large number of false positives. A false positive is a warning message generated by a static code analysis tool for a location in the source code that does not have any known problems. This thesis presents our approach and results in identifying and documenting false positives generated by static code analysis tools. The goal of our study was to understand the different kinds of false positives generated so we can (1) automatically determine if a warning message from a static code analysis tool truly indicates an error, and (2) reduce the number of false positives developers must triage. We used two open-source tools and one commercial tool in our study. Our approach led to a hierarchy of 14 core false positive patterns, with some patterns appearing in multiple variations. We implemented checkers to identify the code structures of false positive patterns and to eliminate them from the output of the tools. Preliminary results showed that we were able to reduce the number of warnings by 14.0%-99.9% with a precision of 94.2%-100.0% by applying our false positive filters in different cases.

Metody optimalizace webových vyhledávačů - SEO a SEM / Methods for Optimization of Web Spotters - SEO and SEM

Bartek, Tomáš January 2007 (has links)
This work concerns optimalization of web pages for finders in the way that the web pages could be placed on best positions. The key of success for optimalization of web pages is the combination of some basic rules. The comparison of advantages of different ways of navigation and creation of menu, speed optimalization of pages loading, texts optimalization with the help of chosen key words, principles of choosing the key words, item placing on web pages and comparison of design, marketing and custom view of making the web pages. First of all, we will look on the difference between catalogues and full text finders, their historical development and current ratio of finders on our market. Subsequently we will describe the presumptions for optimalization from the resource code and programming languages point of view, which are used on web pages. The most important part of our interest is the optimalization methods of web pages content and also the methods which are considered as forbidden. The final implementation is made in PHP language.
