The U.S. Department of Education, Office of Ed Tech Future Ready program has encouraged the use of open informal learning communities as professional learning opportunities for educators. This study categorizes 46 state Twitter chats by their moderation techniques and design. A purposive sample of Twitter chat designers participated in this phenomenological exploration that demonstrates how the designs of these informal learning spaces are aligned with the designers' pedagogical philosophies. Recommendations for supporting, growing, and sustaining similar learning communities are included.

Instant messaging is a popular form of communication over the Internet. Statistics show that instant messaging has overtaken email in popularity. Traditionally, instant messaging has consisted of a desktop client communicating with other clients via an instant messaging service provider. However, instant messaging solutions are starting to become available in the web browser–services like Google Talk, Live Messenger and Facebook. Despite the work done by researchers to secure instant messaging networks, little work has been done to secure instant messaging in the browser. We present secure browser-based instant messaging overlays as a means to enable convenient, secure communication in existing browser-based instant messaging interfaces. Additionally, we present a prototype implementation of the secure messaging overlays and the results of two user studies--the first study focusing on user interest in secure chat and the second being a usability study of the prototype.

To ensure that a customer is satisfied when they purchase a product, they need to be able toreceive assistance if the product does not work correctly or is in any other way unsatisfactory. Thisis why support is needed. There are many different types of support, but with an ever growingnumber of people having less time to spare in their every day life, a quick short answer issometimes preferred. This is why the market for Live-Chat support solutions has grown.    The purpose of this thesis project is to develop a functional stand-alone Live-Chatdemonstration prototype according to Askås' demands and wishes. The demonstration prototypewas developed using the programming language Perl, with additional functionality developed injQuery, HTML and CSS. The project will be evaluated by its functionality and too which degree itcompares to similar solutions.    The project was successful in the development of a functional demonstration prototypehowever further development is needed if it is to be used as a complement to Askås' web-shopsolution.

Leonardi & Barley menar att organisationsstudier bör fokuseras mot hur personer arbetar med datorer och datasystem, samtidigt som Orlikowski menar att studier av arbete med datasystem bör baseras på praktikteorier. Studien kombinerar därför två teorier för att studera modernt arbete som till stor del baseras på datorsystem eller användandet av datorer, CHAT och boundary objects. Studiens syfte är att analysera om praktikteorin, CHAT kan användas för att studera ett modernt arbete som är teknikbaserat, gränsöverskridande och kunskapsintensivt, nämligen internprissättning. Slutsatserna är att CHAT går att använda för modernt arbete trots att teorins materiella bakgrund inte tagit informationsteknik i beaktande. Samtidigt belyste användningen av teorin att de geografiska gränserna mellan aktivitetssystem blir mindre, subjekten kan befinna sig på olika breddgrader utan problem, samtidigt som de olika elementen får fler funktionsområden.

Halmstads kommun har sedan två år använt sig av den externa företagshälsovården Previa i beställningsarbetet gällande företagshälsovårdsinsatser och efterfrågar en undersökning av detta beställningsarbete. Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att ur ett verksamhetsteoretiskt perspektiv undersöka beställare och leverantörers beskrivningar av beställarkompetensen av företagshälsovård och att skapa förutsättningar för ett expansivt lärande. Metod: Undersökningen genomfördes genom kvalitativ forskning där en egen metoddesign inspirerad av Change Laboratory och fokusgruppsdiskussioner användes. Två diskussionsträffar genomfördes tillsammans med beställare och leverantörer av företagshälsovård där bland annat motsättningar och positiva aspekter av beställningsarbetet diskuterades. Teoretisk referensram: Beställningsarbetet belystes genom hela studien ur ett CHAT-perspektiv där yttre faktorer ansågs ha betydelse för kvaliteten på beställningsarbetet. Detta perspektiv användes även i analysen av studiens resultat. Resultat: Avtalet mellan Halmstads kommun och Previa möjliggör en bra företagshälsovård med tyngdpunkt på hälsofrämjande och förebyggande insatser. Undersökningen visade även på motsättningar inom verksamheten som främst handlade om att politiska beslut och ekonomi påverkar beställningsarbetet och att beställare och leverantörer uttrycker att det till stor del ligger utanför deras kontroll. Resultaten visar på att beställningsarbetet överlag fungerar bra och att samarbetet och kommunikationen beställare och leverantör emellan ses som en av de viktigaste och bäst fungerande aspekterna. Det är kring motsättningarna vi kan se en potential till ett expansivt lärande. / For two years the municipality of Halmstad cooperated with the external occupational health company Previa regarding occupational health strategies and implementations, and requests a survey considering this contract work. The aim: The aim of this study is to investigate the descriptions of the purchasers and providers regarding the competencies of the contract work of occupational health from an activity theoretical perspective. Furthermore, the aim is also to create conditions for expansive learning. Method: The design method was inspired by Change Laboratory and focus group discussions were used for assessment. Two discussion meetings were conducted within the study with purchasers and providers of occupational health. Among other things positive and negative factors about the contract work were discussed during the group discussions. Theoretical framework: Throughout the whole study the contract work was seen from a CHAT perspective and affected by external factors in the organization that affected the quality of the orders considering the contract work. This perspective was also used in the analysis of the results of the study. Resultat: The contract between the municipality of Halmstad and Previa enables a good occupational health with focus on health promotion and preventive actions. The study also showed contradictions within the business which primarily were related to political decisions and economical factors that influenced the contract work, but the purchasers and providers were of the opinion that these factors were outside their span of control. The results show that the cooperation and communication between the purchaser and provider is one of the most important and best functioning aspects among the contract work. The contradictions are where we can see a potential towards an expansive learning in a long term.
