Subjunktiv v současné francouzštině a jeho didaktická aplikace / The subjunctive in Contemporary French and Its Application in Didactics

Havelková, Jana January 2014 (has links)
Whereas in Czech there are three verb moods, in French a fourth one is to be found, being defined as the "subjunctive mood". The subjunctive does not exist in Czech which often makes it hard to handle by students as well as teachers. The main aim of the thesis is to map the ways of presenting the French subjunctive verb mood in selected grammar handbooks intended for students and teachers of French and outline the different approaches to describing its parameters. Subsequently, the second objective here is to analyse the methods of presenting the subjunctive in selected textbooks and workbooks used when teaching French at Czech schools. The thesis is divided in three parts. In the initial one, the different approach to presenting the subjunctive in the referential grammar book of P. Charaudeaua - Grammaire du sens et de l'expression is analysed together with the ones applied in the FLE grammar books by G. D. de Salins - Grammaire pour l'enseignement/apprentissage de FLE, M. Callamand - Grammatique vivante du français and in the slightly different grammar book by A. Monnerie-Goarin - Le français au présent. To be able to meet the target of the analysis and find out how a verb mood of a typologically different language is presented to an exclusively Czech audience, the Czech-written grammar book of...

Kniha v prostoru / The Book in Space

Valášková, Kateřina January 2012 (has links)
This final work is focused on the space and light and its screening by the medium of the venetian blinds which are used to separate inner and outer space. This instalation made with 5 Venetian blinds is a parallel to the book. The object is in a form of the hexagon space. It mirrors surrounding story and closes it in the pages by the mirror film. The text is called Chronicle of the melancholy and indicates the intimite of the space of book. Between lines there is a penetration of the space and light behind the pages.

Consolatio vacui/Radost z prázdna / Consolatio vacui/The Joy of Emptiness

Rohanová, Lucie January 2012 (has links)
Consolatio vacui (joy, deligt, consolation of void) is a conceptual piece exploring the idea of void and emptiness in contrast to the concept „horror vacui,“ which is wide-spread in the subconsciousness of the west culture. The piece deals with void as a field of possibilities, as a space without which there were no particular things. These questions are examined first in general, then in the field of objects and eventually in the specific field of book, asking the questions of ways and effects of communication, relationship of sign and void, purpose of empty space in the book (and in general). The piece consists of 24 books, 99 mostly empty pages each, which symbolizes the wide field of possible consideration of the issues solved in each book on one or a few pages. The 24th book is a summary of all the ideas with commentary.

A book as part of culture: The perception fo books by the generation Y and their representation in the media

Krumphanzl, Filip January 2019 (has links)
The goal of this thesis is to clarify the status of books in the current Czech culture using scientific methods. Since there are many possible ways to achieve this widely defined goal, it was necessary to choose certain methods (and therefore an overall angle of the examination). Two specific methods were selected - a questionnaire for members of Generation Y and media analysis of culture sections of the Czech daily newspapers, Mladá fronta DNES and Právo during the months of June and December of 2017. Theoretical background, description of the methods and explanation of all the key terms are part of the theoretical section. The objective of the questionnaire is to map reading preferences and habits of young readers. The questions are focused on qualitative and also quantitative aspects of book reading. The overarching objective of the media analysis is to provide an accurate image the media paint about books. This will be achieved by thorough examination of all the articles that mention them. Just like with the questionnaire, qualitative and quantitative aspects will be tracked.

Pour une archéologie du livre antique : Essai de bibliologie à l'épreuve du cas de l'Iliade / For an Archaeology of the Antique Book : An attempt to lead a bibliological study : the case of the Iliad

Brossin, Laure 21 November 2015 (has links)
At a time where the “archaeology of the book” is a highly-valued theme among historians and medieval philologists, this PhD in Greek Archaeology intends to offer a study of the antique book through the example of the Iliad. To this end, we will start by interrogating the various perspectives successively used to consider the book as a research object, first as a simple medium, whose materiality is largely ignored by philologists in favour of the sole message it delivers, then as an object of history, whose materiality is gradually taken into account by collectors, bibliophiles and archaeologists. This first part, historiographic and epistemological, ends with a historic and social study of the conditions of the transmission and reception of the Iliad in the antique world, which helps us bring to light the specificity of the Homeric manuscript in the Graeco-Roman civilisation and the input of testimonial sources on that subject. In the light of these two complementary reflection points / times, the technical analysis of the antique book, lastly, offers a critical assessment of the current knowledge on fabrication, use and stocking of the papyrus book in the Graeco-Roman Antiquity.

Performed in the context of Network São Paulo Program of Teacher Training - REDEFOR, the research aimed to analyze the accessibility adequacies implemented in teaching materials of an e-learning course for production of e-Book accessible to people with visual disabilities in order to suggest references for the production of other materials in the same format. The theoretical background was based on aspects related to people with visual disabilities, e-learning, accessibility to digital materials, description, audio description, normative references of World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and accessible e-Book. Adopting a qualitative approach, the procedures for data collection included document analysis, semi-structured interviews with two individuals who were responsible for the description of the REDEFOR course materials, and the researcher inferences as part of the team. Data analysis was performed from three categories: flow and team work, work development, and future suggestions and recommendations. It was observed that the production of an accessible e-Book with regard to the team work, resembles the production and management of e-learning courses, and therefore requires a multidisciplinary team. The survey also showed that it is important to predict during the planning and development of e-learning courses, the suitability of the materials to make them accessible. Finally, references were made for production of digital materials in e-Book format, accessible to people with visual disabilities, such as: perform image description mainly considering the context in which it is inserted and your goal in the material; avoid attributing value judgment about the description carried out; be impartial and succinct in describing, focusing only for what is essential to its understanding; keep the images in the material and have their embedded description via Alt tag , which allows access and recognition by screen readers; for videos should use audio description, subtitles and window for Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS); simplify the tables and charts, as far as possible, so that one can describe its contents; and describe symbols only when their use is not merely illustrative or iconic, or in case of show some damage for the material if it was abolished. The recommendations presented emphasize both the implementation of new actions to put the materials in an accessible way for existing e-learning courses, and for disseminating the culture and the habit of producing materials with accessibility, contributing to inclusion of all / A presente pesquisa insere-se no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação: Currículo da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, na linha de pesquisa Novas Tecnologias em Educação.

Comparing the Readability of Text Displays on Paper, E-Book Readers, and Small Screen Devices

Baker, Rebecca Dawn 05 1900 (has links)
Science fiction has long promised the digitalization of books. Characters in films and television routinely check their palm-sized (or smaller) electronic displays for fast-scrolling information. However, this very technology, increasingly prevalent in today's world, has not been embraced universally. While the convenience of pocket-sized information pieces has the techno-savvy entranced, the general public still greets the advent of the e-book with a curious reluctance. This lack of enthusiasm seems strange in the face of the many advantages offered by the new medium - vastly superior storage capacity, searchability, portability, lower cost, and instantaneous access. This dissertation addresses the need for research examining the reading comprehension and the role emotional response plays in the perceived performance on e-document formats as compared to traditional paper format. This study compares the relative reading comprehension on three formats (Kindle, iTouch, and paper) and examines the relationship of subject's emotional response and relative technology exposure as factors that affect how the subject perceives they have performed on those formats. This study demonstrates that, for basic reading comprehension, the medium does not matter. Furthermore, it shows that, the more uncomfortable a person is with technology and expertise in the requested task (in this case, reading), the more they cling to the belief that they will do better on traditional (paper) media - regardless of how well they actually do.
