Mission als Mediation : Vermittlung und soziale Transformation als Aufgabe der Kirche / Mission as mediation : mediation and social transformation as a task of christian church

Sebastian, Horst 07 1900 (has links)
Text in German / This thesis takes as a starting point the societal change in Germany with its concomitant economic risks for substantial parts of the population. Evangelical churches in Germany have yet to react to this change. While the relationship between social work and mission has been a point of widespread discussion within the evangelical movement internationally, it fails to have any impact on local churches. The question is thus: how can a mission-oriented church benefit from Christian social reform movements? Transformative as well as holistic understandings of mission have already yielded an enlarged vision of mission as encompassing social justice. But how about a missiological paradigm which is practically translatable into cultural and social relevance as far as the local church’s vision for becoming an agent of societal change/reform is concerned? When interpreted missiologically, mediation can be such a useful paradigm, as its essence is conflict as a constant anthropological signifier of human/divine distance on the one side and God’s purpose of redemption as reflected in the church’s mission on the other. Thus mediation could be called a category of the missio dei. This practical implementation into the church’s work as being relevant for its community is reached by reverting to the sciences of social work, namely the concept of community development. As mediative community work, this approach will add to the profile of a mission-oriented church as determined to serve a holistic vision of the gospel. At the focus is thus the immediate social environment of a local church, in which it can trigger spiritual, personal, social, cultural and economic processes of transformation. In the social context of Germany this way of expressing the missiological drive of a local church seems to be a hopeful avenue, since the social and economic risks are likely to remain and are threatening a large percentage of the population with social marginalisation. It is here that the economy of community work will be furnishing useful aspects to help a mission-oriented church develop its mediative-communal thrust into its immediate social context in order to proclaim God’s redemptive purpose. / Christian Spirituality,Church History and Missiology / D. Transformativt ledarskap & grupprestation : Medierande effekt av tillit till arbetsgruppen

Christiansson, Saga, Haglund, Karin January 2020 (has links)

Emotional Intelligence as Mediator Between Culture and Transformational Leadership in Jamaican Female Managers

Allen, Audrey Jean 01 January 2020 (has links)
While women continue to make progress in terms of graduate level education, discrepancies remain between women and men when it comes to opportunities for professional growth and development into executive leadership positions and playing a role in the boardroom. Guided by the theories of emotional intelligence (EI), transformational leadership (TL), and Hofstede's cultural values, the purpose of this quantitative mediation analysis was to determine the mediating effect of EI on the relationship between cultural values and TL in Jamaican female managers. Data were collected from 38 Jamaican female managers who were working with varied public and private sector entities located in urban and rural areas. Participants completed the Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test, Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire, and Cultural Values Scale via SurveyMonkey. No statistically significant mediated effects were found. Cultural values uncertainty subscale scores had statistically significant direct effects on TL. Through exploratory regressions, it was determined that experiential EI was positively predicted by the cultural values subscale scores of uncertainty avoidance, collectivism, and masculinity, and negatively predicted by age; strategic EI was negatively predicted by power distance and positively predicted by masculinity scores, and masculine cultural orientation was positively predicted by number of years as a supervisor, long term cultural value orientation, and power distance cultural value. The results could influence the development and implementation of suitable training interventions that may impact positively on the leadership skills of Jamaican female managers and ultimately realizing social change through family life.

The Impact of Human Resources on Nurses' Turnover Intention

Jackson, Anita Estell 01 January 2020 (has links)
Nurse retention is of great concern to healthcare organizations including hospitals. With so many countries reporting a shortage in nursing personnel, healthcare organizations are now seeking ways to reduce this shortage. It is known that job satisfaction and turnover intention impact nurses' continued employment. However, the role of human resources (HR) impact on nurses' job satisfaction and turnover intention is unknown. The theoretical basis of this study came from the work of Bowen and Ostroff who argued the strength of HRM system regulates employee perceptions and outcomes within an organization. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact HR service quality had on registered nurses' turnover intentions mediated by job satisfaction and moderated by gender, in a hospital setting within the state of Maryland. Data was collected from 83 registered nurses licensed in Maryland. A multiple regression analysis of data collected from HR service quality measures of responsiveness, reliability, and empathy in addition to gender, job satisfaction, and turnover intention revealed statistically nonsignificant results involving nurses' perceptions of HR service quality predicting turnover intention. Job satisfaction failed to mediate the relationship between HR service quality indicators and turnover intention, and gender failed to moderate the relationship between HR service quality indicators and turnover intention. Although the research revealed statistically nonsignificant findings, it adds to the body of literature regarding the topic of HR service quality. This study has social change implications by informing healthcare organizations about the significant role of HR service quality indicators and its impact on nursing job satisfaction and turnover intention.

Osoba mediátora / Mediator

Wiesnerová, Michaela January 2019 (has links)
( Mediator) The diploma thesis deals with the person mediator who is key and indispensable in the process of mediation. Mediation is currently an increasingly relevant topic as one of the alternative ways of resolving disputes. Its use in practice could help to reduce the number of cases that courts have to deal with. With growing interest in mediation, the mediator's profession is becoming publicly aware. The aim of the thesis was to analyze the mediator role in mediation in the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into 6 chapters. The first chapter explains the concept of mediation, the status of mediator and the division of mediators into different types that occur in our territory. The mediator must meet the conditions for the exercise of the profession by law. The main one is the successful passing of the exam, which is described in more detail in the second chapter. An important role in mediation is played by fundamental principles such as volunteering, impartiality, and unbiased, confidentiality and informality. Their adherence is crucial to the profession of mediator. The mediator has certain rights and obligations under the law. Major duties include a duty of confidentiality. The content, scope, and limits are described in Chapter 4. The following fifth chapter examines the mediator's...

Cloning and nextPBM analysis of the mediator and BRG1 associated factor complexes

Buckshaw II, Robert S. 11 June 2020 (has links)
Coordination of gene expression within the cell requires the integrated actions of various multi-protein, gene regulatory complexes. The Mediator and BRG1 Associate Factor (BAF) complexes are large, dynamic regulatory cofactors (COF) that are made up of multiple different submodules, and play key roles in regulating gene expression. Gene-specific regulation requires that transcription factors (TFs) recruit these COF complexes to gene promoters. How separate subdomains in each complex interact with distinct sets of TFs in each cell remains an important question. In this study, to address this question, we sought to apply the nuclear extract protein-binding microarray (nextPBM) technology being developed in our lab to study interactions between TFs and subunits of the Mediator and BAF complexes. To facilitate this, we cloned, expressed and purified subdomains of proteins from the Mediator and BAF complexes. We then used the nextPBM technology to study the interactions of our subdomains with TFs in human macrophages. We identified several new interactions with TFs, and demonstrate the utility of this approach to student TF-COF interaction.
