Apports et difficultés d’une collecte de données à l’aide de récepteurs GPS pour réaliser une enquête sur la mobilité / Contributions and difficulties of data collection using GPS receivers to conduct a survey on mobility

Pham, Thi Huong Thao 02 May 2016 (has links)
Travel survey methods based on new technologies have evolved in the past few decades, shifting from limited experiments to large-scale travel surveys. GPS-based data collection methods have become particularly popular in travel behavior research, mainly because of the worldwide coverage and the accuracy of the GPS system. We have taken the opportunity of the French National Travel Survey (FNTS) to have the first nationwide experience with embedding such a “GPS package” in a traditional survey, with a sub-sample of approximately 957 voluntary respondents. This thesis begins by presenting a review of interest in new technologies for mobility surveys, advantages and limitations. Prior to going into the field with the processing of GPS data, it is important to understand the likely acceptability of GPS device among FNTS respondents – specifically whether a sufficient proportion would be willing to use a GPS device while completing a travel diary and, if not, why not. The findings confirmed that the voluntary respondents with GPS receiver are more conscientious and better describe their mobility. We find the profile of respondents who accept the GPS survey. One of the main reason for low GPS acceptance rate in the FNTS 2007 is the availability of GPS. For increasing the GPS availability rate, we need to calculate the time and duration of the survey visits to reduce the GPS immobilization rate.A challenge in the GPS data post-processing is the development of methods to fill GPS missing data and to reconstitute automatically continuous sequence, both in space and time. Then, the architecture of GPS data post-processing for the FNTS 2007-08 is described. After, the results of the post processing software is calibrated by comparison with conventional methods, such as CAPI-GPS providing for a few trips additional information on the reliability of the device and on more detailed characteristics (e.g. mode and purpose).Next, we provide an overview of comparing the descriptions of mobility obtained by two methods CAPI and GPS in the days covered by these two observation tools. The automatic matching of GPS traces to daily trips based on their chronologies and the manual control of this matching are performed. By identifying the characteristics of unmatched GPS traces and daily trips, we expect the reasons for their mismatches. Finally, we evaluate the contributions and challenges of data collection using GPS device. This study shows that the GPS survey can be used successfully to complete the conventional transport surveys, but it is still too early to predict the complete substitution of conventional survey by the GPS mobility survey. Keywords: transport survey, mobility, new technologies, data collection, GPS, post processing, acceptability, GPS traces, daily trip.

Sousa, Tânia Regina Barbosa de 30 March 2011 (has links)
This study aims to examine the influence of the Internet in the studies of students of Tourism Management Institute of Sergipe - IFS. The object of this study is the course of Tourism Management IFS, specifically the 1st academic term. The need to undertake this study arose after verifying that the undergraduate students in general, using the Internet as a research tool in an ever more commonplace. The reading took place in traditional printed books no longer the only means of students' research, which also make it through the internet. The students of Tourism Management IFS not out of this new research model. Among its objectives, this course aims to train researchers. So check out how the Internet influences the academic text production becomes essential for us to understand this slow, but not inconsiderable, changing paradigms of reading and writing. The research is based on the thoughts structuralist and poststructuralist and their conceptions of text. For this research, will be adopted the case study with methodological tools for quantitative analysis and qualitative questionnaires to these students, tracking their textual production, from the discipline Production Text and Academic subsequent data analysis, to verify how to assimilate these students and their research, a priori, as a consequence, produce consistent and meaningful texts, but are not only a mosaic of ideas, making the individual researcher and cut their texts without definite authorship.

Reorganização do trabalho, novas tecnologias e o sobreaviso no direito do trabalho

This work investigates the transformations in work patterns and working times due to the rearrangement of labor relations and the new technologies of communication and information. The purpose of this dissertation is to understand whether the reorganization of the classic work model and the proliferation of new communication and information technologies are compatible with the 'oncall/ standby time" and whether it serves as an answer to the new problems arising from the connection and availability of workers. The first part of this paper analyzes the forms of labor organization that motivated the development of Labor Law rules that regulate the control of time and the context that contributed to the emergence of the regulations limiting the duration of work. In the second chapter, it is analyzed the transformations determined mainly by the post-industrial model, marked by a significant advance in information technology, which reformulated the characteristics of the duration of work for which the traditional Labor Law was conceived. In the third chapter, the consequences of the transformations of the labor world are explicitly approached on the model of "on call time/standby time," to check if the existing rules are compatible with the rearrangement of labor. This work approach is marked by the inductive and dialectical methods, and the research technique adopted is the indirect documentation, based on documentary research and bibliographic research. In the end, as a result of the study, it is understood that the "on call time/standby time" is not appropriate as the only answer to the problems arising from the changes of work and working hours, which is why it is necessary to seek alternatives to ensure other responses to these situations.

From a shared anthropology to a shareable anthropology : halieutic documentaries and small-scale fishing on the lake Atitlán (Guatemala)

Boukala, Mouloud 09 December 2009 (has links)
Summary: the present study is concerned, in an anthropological perspective, with connecting actors and researchers to the halieutic management of a resource of which the economic and social visibility is rapidly growing. The observation and the analysis of the small-scale fishing such as it is practised by the Indians Tzutuj' iil on the lake Atitlán (Guatemala) constitutes a key activity in which the crossed configuration of the subjectivity and the collective appears, a privileged environment where relations nets are woven between the fishermen, between the fishermen and the lake, between the fishermen and the researcher. To appreciate what is taking place collectively; links were set up between cinematographic and anthropological fields. This research leads jointly a sensitive approach - the cinema - and a social and cultural approach to report links stamped with contingency and not unequivocal between the collective representations and the practices. Contrary to a shared anthropology where the name of a director predominates, this work creates a shareable anthropology within which the plural, this grammatical mode of the relativity, turns out to be convenient for a science of the diversity. So, from a halieutic stage where traditional movements are unfold, this study favours, thanks to new technologies, the social connections under an interactive angle. It is part of the structure of a participative research and promotes “an ethnography in network” where meshing are representative of the way the actors are connected with one another in a horizontal way.

Case study of the energy performance of a school building in Laholm, Sweden : Energy modeling for the formulation of efficient renovation strategies

Gutiérrez Prieto, Daniel Andrés January 2022 (has links)
This study has been focusing on a school located in the municipality of Laholm, South of Sweden. Employing an energy balance of the last five (5) years, a proposal for measures is made in terms of performance for comparison with the baseline of the current consumption trend. This comparison allowed us to narrow down the alternatives for the renovation with the potential to have a great impact on the school's energy use and indoor environment, but also on the preserved characteristics without any violation of the laws and regulations. A complementary analysis was used to analyze important variables for decision-making and implementation of improvements. This analysis consists of an exergy analysis which was utilized as a pre-design tool for an optimized building renovation proposal. Exergy losses were calculated to assess the performance of the systems. The study revealed that in relation to the use of new technologies and materials, aerogel and vacuum insulation panels bring relevant savings as their insulation mechanisms are the most efficient for such a building in a climate like Laholm. As for the heating system, it was evident that the use of a geothermal heat pump associated to PV panels brings considerable energy benefits when compared to the current oil boiler system and given that the village does not yet have a local district heating system. When the proposed measures are applied during 2022- 2023, the results will show that also older buildings can be energy efficient which is demanded of the buildings stock throughout the European Union.

Teaching Mathematics in Eniaio Lykeio (Unified Upper-Secondary Education) with the use of New Technologies

Tsami, Eleni 11 May 2012 (has links)
In the teaching of the subject of Mathematics and in particular, in the teaching of the linear function f(x) = ax + b, the use of Microsoft Office Excel programme ( 1st grade of Eniaio Lykeio/ Unified upper-secondary school) equally facilitates both participants of the learning process, as the particular programme is incorporated in the context of the learner-centered educational procedure. Within the framework of this point of view and with the aim of effectively compiling the syllabus, the application of twelve (12) basic principles hinging on the active participation of learners in mutual cooperation, is considered necessary. Selfevaluation and the need to establish specific incentives and set concrete aims and objectives constitute indicative examples of basic principles. Within the frame of the afore-mentioned educational principles, it is suggested that the class is divided in groups of 2-3 students and new technologies are implemented, with the ultimate goal to clarify and comprehend concepts and applications relevant to the subject. Criteria for the design of such an activity are the exploitation of learners’ background knowledge and experience as well as the experimental involvement in new teaching practices. As prerequisites, we pose the formulation of conjectures and conclusions and the ‘depenalization’ of errors in the mind of learners.

The Blue Glow From the Back Row: The Impact of New Technologies on the Adolescent Experience of Live Theatre

Richardson, John M. January 2010 (has links)
This article considers the impact of new technologies on the adolescent experience of live, literary theatre. Drawing together the work of theorists in literacies, new technologies and audience studies, together with brain research, and the results of a focus group of four secondary students who have seen four plays at Canada’s National Arts Centre, it examines the consequences of young people’s immersion in digital culture and the new mindset that often results. The expectation of instant access to data, inter-connectivity, stimulation and control can make it difficult for adolescents to decode the metaphorical aspects of a theatrical performance. The article concludes that language arts and dramatic arts educators have a key role in teaching students how to decode—and therefore enjoy and appreciate— a play.
