And soon the darkness

Chang, Kai Chih Unknown Date (has links)
In psychiatrist's room, CHENG Yusheng, the ace pitcher from Shan Min Senior High School, was eloquently talking about the wining of the game and the joy of signing his minor league's contract. This is not only a childhood dream but, more important, an escape from a lifelong fear, his mother. But in reality, this victory never belongs to Cheng, his career has ended log time ago. He imagined a victory not his own in order to runaway from the threat of real world. In the process of psychotherapy, Cheng was forced to face the contradictions in his hallucination, and told the story of nightmare and truth. And soon the Darkness is a short film about a Taiwanese high school baseball player’s struggle. The film is produced by skills of film noir, and we look at this situation from the angle of sports psychology, focus on the moment when Taiwanese high school players face their future. The director’s report demonstrates the production background of the story, presents the perspective to make this film, and records the process of the production and screening.

Dwelling at the margins : an exegesis of the film Boundaries

Pullen, Naomi Margaret January 2006 (has links)
" Dwelling at the Margins" is an exegesis of the short film Boundaries. Boundaries is a journey into the world of marginalised young people in inner urban Brisbane seen through the eyes of a the female main character with an eye for gentle beauty. The film forms the first part of the research and in the exegesis the ideas unfold that were behind the making of the film and that emerged further through its production and audience reception. The exegesis discussion centres on the major aspects of the film which are visual representations, female narratives and the themes of home and dwelling. Boundaries is a political film that looks from the edges of society. The exegesis seeks to explain the ideas behind this intention.

Enacted possibilities for learning in goals- and results-based music teaching

Zandén, Olle 23 July 2019 (has links)
In this chapter, enacted possibilities for learning in a Scottish and a Swedish music lesson are analysed and compared with the intended learning outcomes as defined in the Swedish national curriculum. The Scotland-Lesson proves to place more emphasis on music's auditive aspects while the Sweden-Lesson focuses playing as individual manual skills.

Comparing international music lessons on video

Wallbaum, Christopher 18 April 2019 (has links)
Video-recorded music lessons (on multi angle DVDs) were used to inspire and improve understanding among experts from different cultures and discourses of music education. To make the process manageable and focused we developed the Analytical Short Film (2-3 minutes) to address particular areas of interest and starting points for debate. We asked selected music teachers from seven nation-states to allow a typical and (in their opinion) good lesson to be recorded. We also asked the students and their parents for permission. At a symposium, national experts and researchers presented views on „their“ lessons through Analytical Short Films. Discussion included implicit and explicit comparisons. The presenters also used a lesson from one of the other countries to stimulate discussion about assumptions in and challenges to their own views. We documented all comparisons made and compared these to derive cross cultural categories (tertia comparationis). These categories should be relevant for understanding what makes a music lesson „good“. The different perspectives and discussions offered by the authors in this book provide rich and diverse material for researchers, teachers and teacher educators.

[pt] CURAR COM CURTA: A PROGRAMAÇÃO, CURADORIA E AURA DE CURTAS-METRAGENS SELECIONADOS EM TRÊS FESTIVAIS DE CINEMA BRASILEIRO ENTRE 2017 - 2021 / [en] CURAR COM CURTA: THE TRANSFORMATIONS, PROGRAMMING AND AURA OF SHORT FILMS SELECTED AT THREE BRAZILIAN FILM FESTIVALS BETWEEN 2017 - 2021

LEONARDO ROCHA MARTINELLI SILVA 30 August 2022 (has links)
The time frame takes place between the years 2017 and 2021 due to the encounter between a progressive popularization of access to digital sensors with the immersion of Brazil in a severe and polarizing political-social crisis. The study resumes and analyzes the notion of aura, as proposed by Walter Benjamin in his essay The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction; and it also takes up the idea of programming and curation as forms of post-production, as proposed by Thomas Elsaesser. One of the objectives is to analyze the change in scenario - favored by the entry of digital technology - where the Brazilian short film starts to have a gradually more significant symbolic and cultural value. The three aforementioned film festivals were chosen because their curatorship or event conditions underwent major upheavals due to the different political and social contexts in the country. Lastly, it is relevant for the study to discuss the role of curatorship and festivals within the process of historical and artistic legitimation of films as well as the relationship between filmmakers and the construction of an imaginary about national cinema.

RED – A supposedly universal quality as the core of music education

Wallbaum, Christopher 23 July 2019 (has links)
The Chapter consists in two sections complementing Analytical Short Films. The first is about a supposedly universal atmosphere called RED in the Bavaria-Lesson, the second about different cultures in voice and posture coming together in the Beijing-Lesson. Both are related to theory as well as German philosophies of music education.
