Přístup růstového investování do akcií malých splolečností / Growth investing to small cap stocks

This thesis focuses on indentification of financial analysis indicators of small firms. These indicators should help investors to use growth investing method within their first pick stocks. Discussed indicators are from capital market, rentability, indebtedness and liquidity areas. The resulting values of these indicators are interpreted accordingly to the strategy of the company. That helps to identify the company's strengths and weeknesses. This thesis contains of basic theoretical knowledge of growth investing and specifics of small companies. It also comprises of results of older empirical studies in which growth and value investing was compared. The growth investing methods by Jime Slater. There were used 14 historically significantly above average growing companies registred in NASDAQ for the purpose of analysis.

However the survival of this type of enterprise many times is affected by managemental imperfection, mainly in the financial area. To diagnosis the financial management of a small company presenting weak and strong points is part important a good management and to assure a satisfactory performance. With intention to describe under a theoretical approach the financial management of short term in micron and small rendering companies of services and its integration with the areas of: managemental politics, sale of services, purchases and supplies, box, rendering of services and quality, were constructed a tool of financial management of short term and validated in a lender of services. Through bibliographical study and experimental research a qualitative tool for diagnosis of the financial management of short term is proposal, being measured the degree of importance of the existing subsystems. It was tested in a lender of services and proved it financial reality of the company showing all the points that must be reevaluated. The tool can be used by entrepreneurs without experience in financial management, as aid in the attainment of preliminary conclusions and analyses of the financial process. / Para o desenvolvimento da economia de um país, as micro e pequenas empresas são importantes por gerarem novos empregos, tecnologia e renda para a sociedade. No entanto a sobrevivência desse tipo de empreendimento muitas vezes é afetada por falha gerencial, principalmente na área financeira. Diagnosticar a gestão financeira de uma pequena empresa apresentando pontos fracos e fortes é parte importante para uma boa gestão e assegurar um desempenho satisfatório. Com o intuito de descrever sob um enfoque teórico a gestão financeira de curto prazo em micro e pequenas empresas prestadoras de serviços e a sua integração com as áreas de: políticas gerenciais, venda de serviços, compras e estoques, caixa, prestação de serviços e qualidade, foi construída uma ferramenta de gestão financeira de curto prazo e validada em uma prestadora de serviços. Através de estudo bibliográfico e pesquisa experimental é proposta uma ferramenta qualitativa para diagnóstico da gestão financeira de curto prazo, sendo mensurado o grau de importância dos subsistemas existentes. Foi testada em uma prestadora de serviços e comprovou-se a realidade financeira da empresa mostrando todos os pontos que devem ser reavaliados. A ferramenta pode ser utilizada por empreendedores sem experiência em gestão financeira, como auxílio na obtenção de conclusões preliminares e análises do processo financeiro.

There is defined the problem of working with information from the point of view of selected company in the first part. The next part presents selected theoretical background on the basis of which was the aim achieved. The fourth part analyses the current situation of the company. There is recommended complex improvement of the current situation in the practical part. Selected information management problem is accomplished factually. There are also introduced suitable software tools, which were used for the solution.

In this work we try to understand how the strategies and the production planning of the MSCs work in the segment of chocolate based products, allowing its survival in the food industry. Four companies of the branch were studied and the actionresearch methodology was employed, as well as visits with application of questionnaires. One can conclude that each MSC has its proper logic of production management that is a consequence of the difficulties and circumstances faced by each one of them. In other words, each one possess its own strategies to attend the chance markets. These strategies, in general, are defensive. / Este trabalho apresenta uma discussão sobre os modelos de gestão da produção das micro e pequenas empresas (MPEs) do ramo alimentício, que, por terem características distintas, como menor capital, baixa tecnologia, mercado segmentado e administração não profissional, não podem seguir rigidamente os modelos clássicos de gestão da produção. Procura-se entender como são as estratégias e o planejamento da produção da MPE do segmento de produção de produtos achocolatados, que permitem sua sobrevivência no mercado de alimentos. Foram estudadas quatro empresas do ramo, sendo utilizada a metodologia de pesquisa-ação e visitas orientadas, com aplicação de questionários. Conclui-se que cada MPE tem sua lógica própria de gestão da produção, que é conseqüência das dificuldades e circunstâncias enfrentadas por cada uma delas. Ou seja, cada uma possui suas estratégias para atender os mercados de oportunidade. Estas estratégias, em geral, são defensivas.

O principal objetivo da pesquisa é construir um mapa, informado pelas \"Teorias Ambientais\", das práticas do dirigente da pequena empresa relacionadas ao ambiente organizacional. Os objetivos específicos são: compreender as especificidades da pequena empresa de tecnologia da informação, como o dirigente compreende o ambiente organizacional e quais são as práticas relacionadas a ele. Pretendeu-se adotar uma postura subjetivista-interpretativa. O quadro teórico de análise é a etnometodologia. De acordo com as teorias ambientais estudadas, o ambiente organizacional é composto por grupos de interesse e instituições que fornecem recursos e legitimidade para a organização. As práticas relacionadas ao ambiente são atendimento das demandas dos grupos de interesse, alteração do ambiente organizacional e conformidade institucional. A pequena empresa apresenta algumas especificidades que podem ser compreendidas mediante três dimensões: dirigente, organização e contexto. Foi realizado um estudo de caso em uma pequena empresa da área de tecnologia da informação de Campinas-SP. Mediante análise da conversação e observação do cotidiano da empresa, puderam-se compreender as principais práticas dos dirigentes relacionadas ao ambiente organizacional. Foi construído um mapa representativo destas práticas, com base na Teoria da Dependência de Recursos e na Teoria Institucional. A empresa apresenta práticas de conformidade institucional, especialmente aos contextos tecnológico, político-legal e sócio-cultural. Mecanismos normativos e miméticos limitam a escolha da tecnologia para desenvolvimento dos softwares, e mecanismos coercitivos forçam a empresa a se adequar ao sistema político-legal e aos valores e normas sociais e culturais. No entanto, há tentativas de alteração destes contextos institucionais, mesmo que bastante restritas. A principal prática de alteração do ambiente organizacional é a estratégia de expansão - investimento direto, atendimento de outros \"nichos\" e diversificação. Mesmo que relativamente modesto, comparado às estratégias das grandes empresas do segmento de desenvolvimento de software, o crescimento representa, dentro do \"nicho\" específico que a empresa atua, redução da dependência e maior controle sobre os recursos que ela precisa para sobreviver. A idéia de \"mapa\" é coerente com a concepção weberiana de \"tipo-ideal\"; é uma forma de entender a realidade, um esquema de interpretação. / The main objective of this research is to construct a map, supported by \"Environmental Theories\", of the practices of small company managers related to the organizational environment. The specific objectives are the comprehension of the specificities of the information technology small company, how the manager understands the organizational environment and which practices are related to it. A subjective-interpretative position was adopted and the theoretical frame of analysis is ethnomethodology. According to the environmental theories studied, the organizational environment is composed of interest groups and institutions that supply resources and legitimacy to the organization. The practices related to the environment are the meeting of the interest groups\' demands, alteration of the organizational environment and institutional conformity. The small company presents specificities that can be understood by means of three dimensions: manager, organization and context. A case study was performed in an information technology small company in Campinas-SP. By means of a conversation analysis and observation of quotidian routine of company, it was possible to understand the managers\' main practices related to the organizational environment. A representative map of these practices was constructed on the basis of the Resource Dependence Theory and Institutional Theory. The company presents practices of institutional conformity, especially to the technological, legal-political and socio-cultural contexts. Normative and mimetic mechanisms limit the choice of the technology for software development, and coercive mechanisms force the company to adjust to the legal-political system and the values and social and cultural norms. However, although restricted, attempts have been made to modify these institutional contexts. The main practice of organizational environment alteration is the expansion strategy - direct investment, seeking for other \"niches\" and diversification. Although relatively modest, in comparison with large companies\' strategies in the software development segment, growth represents, inside of the \"specific niche\" the company acts in, a dependence reduction and greater control of the resources required for the company to survive. The idea of \"map\" is coherent with the weberian conception of \"ideal-type\"; it is a way to understand reality, a scheme of interpretation.

As secondary objectives were raised the main limiters that restrict the implementation of the tool, it was evaluated the contribution of the Business Intelligence tool to the performance of the organization, and propose an implementation model for small companies. Therefore, we used the case study method with direct observation and interviews with the managers and collaborators who use the tool. The results obtained in the study demonstrated that there are several limitations to the implementation of Business Intelligence in small companies, among them, hardware and software limitation, process limitations and limitation of human resources. Such limitations can easily be overcome through the use of a model, which contemplates a flow of activities to be followed, demonstrating that the benefits generated by the tool for the performance of these organizations are notorious. Thus, the study was justified by the contribution that Business Intelligence brings to the performance of small companies, besides contributing directly to regional development through the role of employment creation, income and taxes of these enterprises. / Este trabalho teve como objetivo analisar o processo de implantação da ferramenta Inteligência de Negócio (IN) em uma empresa de pequeno porte da área de varejo da construção do Oeste do Paraná (Brasil). Como objetivos secundários foram levantados os principais limitadores que restringem essa implementação, foi avaliada a contribuição da ferramenta Inteligência de Negócio para o desempenho da organização, além de ser proposto um modelo de implementação para empresas de pequeno porte. Para tanto foi utilizado o método de estudo de caso com observação direta e entrevistas com os gestores e colaboradores que utilizam a ferramenta. Os resultados obtidos no estudo demonstram que existem diversas limitações para a implantação da Inteligência de Negócio em pequenas empresas, dentre eles, limitação de hardware e software, limitações de processo e limitação de recursos humanos. Tais limitações podem ser superadas facilmente a partir da utilização de um modelo que contemple um fluxo de atividades a ser seguido, demonstrando que são notórios os benefícios gerados pela ferramenta para o desempenho destas organizações. Desta forma, o estudo justificou-se pela contribuição que a Inteligência de Negócio traz para o desempenho das pequenas empresas, além de contribuir diretamente com o desenvolvimento regional pelo papel de geração de emprego, renda e tributos destes empreendimentos.
