Den rödbrusige öldansken : En kvalitativ undersökning om hur danskar framställs i tre svenska tidningar / The rubicund beer drinking Danish : A qualitative study about how Danish are people represented in three swedish newspapers

Rensmo, Mattias, Lithner, Lotta January 2010 (has links)

The aim of this study was to examine how the Danish people and Denmark are represented in the daily Swedish press. We wanted to examine how the Danish people were represented, the characteristics given to the Danes and the differences we see between the different genres. We used theories about discourse, representation, stereotype and national community, too see what underlying messages was hidden in the texts. We analysed 30 texts from three Swedish daily newspapers: Sydsvenska Dagbladet Snällposten, Dagens Nyheter and Aftonbladet. The method we used was discourse analysis based on Faircloughs theories and methods. One of the most interesting results we found was that the Danish people often were represented as different kinds of stereotypes. We found the following stereotypes that we named: the drunken Danish, the racist, the laidback Danish and the criminal Danish. The drunk Danish stereotype is mostly seen in the text about sports when the journalists are writing about the Danish football supporters. In these texts the supporters are given properties like drunk and that they like to drink a lot of beer when they are watching football. The stereotype that we named the racist, we mostly see in the texts that were about politics and about the Dansk Folkeparti. The laidback Danish is particularly evident in texts that describe the Danish culture. The fourth stereotype, the criminal, we see in the texts about gang violence. Our study also showed that the Danish people and Denmark are represented through people that are not Danish. In many of the texts we could see that Swedish journalists interviewed other Swedish people about Denmark and the Danish people.

A influência do estigma na atuação religiosa frente ao HIV/AIDS no centro antigo de Salvador

Elber José Almeida Santos 07 January 2013 (has links)
Stigma, prejudice, stereotyping and discrimination have been present in the history of humanity for centuries and end up serving as the basis for social attitudes and omissions, be they individual or collective, up to our current days, because they deal with themes considered tabus or subjects which many are not able deal with or talk about, such as homosexuality, prostitution, successive monogamies. They dont tackle the difficulty of dialoguing (prejudice) and use their I think its this way positions as the foundation to judge others. The emergence of HIV/AIDS in the United States, affecting people considered at the margin of society such as male homosexuals, Haitians, heroin addicts, hemophiliacs and sex professionals, reinforced the initial prejudice relating to the illness, which caused the victims of this new illness to suffer discrimination. This attitude was reinforced by the media as they reported and reinforced by exposing those afflicted with the new syndrome. However, the cases arising in France were not evidenced, these cases being quite different from what was preached as a predilection of the virus and became known as the risk group. The religious institutions, more specifically the churches, initially in the decade of 1980, propagated this thought that HIV/AIDS was a divine punishment, a type of retribution for the sins of the first victims, therefore they were guilty for their illness. However, some religious leaders did not agree with this view of theology of retribution and went out to help the people who were suffering with the illness or with the social death, be it with spiritual help or charity or simply granting some of their time to help those in need of assistance.

Vyšetření poruch dechového stereotypu a jejich vlivu na muskuloskeletální systém u studentů PF JU ve věku 19 až 25 let / Examination of respiratory disorders stereotypes and their effects on the musculoskeletal system PF JU students aged 19 to 25 years

MAREŠ, Martin January 2017 (has links)
The main task of this thesis was an examination of breathing stereotypes on selected students of Pedagogical faculty aged from 19 to 25. The other objective was to develop an intervention programme according to which the selected students participated in six weeks lasting workouts that were focused on breath training with consecutive heightening of their physical efficiency. A method of content analysis was used for analysing literature and a method of content synthesis was used for application of gathered information and for creating the intervention programme. For the examination of breathing stereotypes a muscle dynamometer was used which is able to record a movement dynamics and simultaneously to record a breathing activity dynamics. The vital capacity was measured through a forced expiratory vital capacity (FVC) when also a value of one second exhale was recorded (FEV1). This test was performed in standing upright position on the machine Spirometr Otthon, evaluation was processed in the Thorsoft programme. The study was participated by six students who at first passed out an entrance examination where the main values were defined, then the intervention programme and after the end of it the participants underwent a checking (output) examination. During processing of the thesis it was confirmed that the developed intervention programme, which is based on aerobic exercises and completed with resistance training, has a factual and statistical significant effect on strengthening the respiratory muscles which are activated by the diaphragmatic breathing within resting breathing and deepened breathing. For the determination of the substantive significance the Cohen's d was used, then the paired Student´s t test for dependent samples.
