[pt] TELEVISÃO PARA JOVENS: ESTUDO SOBRE AS ATITUDES DO PÚBLICO JOVEM FRENTE À ATUAL OFERTA DE PROGRAMAÇÃO DE TV NO BRASIL

DANIELA JUSTUS 17 December 2001 (has links)

[en] SUPPORTING THREE-DIMENSIONAL MEDIA OBJECT CONTROL AND PRESENTATION IN NCL / [pt] SUPORTE AO CONTROLE E À APRESENTAÇÃO DE OBJETOS DE MÍDIA TRIDIMENSIONAIS EM NCL

ROBERTO GERSON DE ALBUQUERQUE AZEVEDO 15 February 2011 (has links)
[en] The world where we live in is physically formed by a three-dimensional space and it is natural human being wants to represent it as faithful as possible. In Web for example there are a lot of efforts in order to support the creation of interactive 3D applications, most of them based on scene graphs and route graphs. Scene graphs have become a standard for modeling spatial 3D applications from a hierarchical and declarative approach. In order to represent the scene graphs behavior, route graphs or imperative languages are more commonly used. As regards Interactive Digital Television (iDTV), on the other hand, there is still a lot of work to be done. Nested Context Language (NCL) is the standard declarative language for Terrestrial Digital Television Systems (ISDB-T) and IPTV (ITU-T), which allows the hypermedia document authoring through a simple and expressiveness approach. Even though NCL does not restrict any type of media object, in its current version (3.0), NCL treats only two-dimensional objects, relating them temporally and spatially. Given the importance of NCL in the iDTV scenario, this research aims discuss how it can also control three-dimensional objects. As a special case, this work discusses how NCL can control composite object behavior represented by scene graphs, discussing its advantages and disadvantages. In order to test what was proposed, an X3D (which is an ISO standard language based on scene graphs) player was incorporated to the Ginga-NCL reference implementation, which is responsible to play NCL applications. Additionally, it is also proposed a new set of NCL events, in order to reflect three-dimensional events, and the incorporation of NCL regions based on three-dimensional geometric, so that the presentation of two-dimensional media objects over 3D object’s surfaces is possible.

[en] THIS IS...FANTASTIC: TELEVISION, ENTERTAINMENT SHOW AND CONSUMPTION IN BRAZIL / [pt] ISTO É... FANTÁSTICO: TELEVISÃO, REVISTA ELETRÔNICA E CONSUMO NO BRASIL

BRUNA SANTANA AUCAR 18 February 2013 (has links)
[en] The objective of this study is to analyze the program Fantástico, from Globo TV, and its relations with the current movement of media convergence experienced by the mass and digital media. For it, we contextualize the program´s inception, its nearly 40 years of existence and the kind of tendency to convergence that is inscribed in its history. The hypothesis is that the processes of media convergence would be the beginner of a cultural change that brings impacts to the identities and habits of consumption in a world increasingly influenced by digital technologies. This movement has brought changes in the production of broadcast television content. Fantástico was a pioneer in Brazilian television to offer an interactive environment and promotion of new channels of communication with the viewer. Recent accounts of the program interact with the online universe and multiple platforms that expand the possibilities to boost consumption. These formats indicate transformations – both material and subjective – in the relationship of the citizens with the media and modern lifestyles, offering clues to understand the codes of our own culture.

[en] IMAGE COMPOSITING WITH HDR LIGHTING BY IMPROVING THE DIFFERENTIAL RENDERING TECNIQUE / [pt] COMPOSIÇÃO DE IMAGENS COM ILUMINAÇÃO HDR ATRAVÉS DE UM APRIMORAMENTO DA TÉCNICA DE RENDERIZAÇÃO DIFERENCIAL

GILBERTO PAIVA DE MEDEIROS JÚNIOR 20 July 2009 (has links)
[en] This work aims to present an improvement to the image compositing stateof- the-art technique using Differential Rendering. An application is developed using HDR images, in which combining virtual and real elements into a single scene produces better results than the ones obtained by the original technique. Firstly, this work presents some techniques of image compositing, and concepts on HDR images and image-based lighting. Next, the original technique by Paul Debevec is presented through its calculations and examples of image compositing. The proposed improvement adds one more image to the set of images used by the original technique. This improvement is of great importance for applications that need a high degree of realism, because it allows a better integration between the virtual and real parts of a scene. Several tests are presented that prove the effectiveness of the proposed improvement.

[en] SUNDAY IS A HAPPY DAY: CHILDREN AND TELEVISION NEWS / [pt] DOMINGO É DIA DE FELICIDADE: AS CRIANÇAS E AS NOTÍCIAS

MARIA INES DE CARVALHO DELORME 06 January 2009 (has links)
[en] The title of this dissertation is Sunday is a happy day. Here i analyse different variables that may contribute to a better understanding of the relationships established between children and the news originating in television. The research as such has an ethnographic bias about children who attend the first year of basic education in a municipal school in Rio de Janeiro, during the 2007 school term. In the core of this study these children are characterized as active and participatory subjects who like to express opinions, who feel the aptitude for questioning certain standards, as shown by television and the world of adults, in interactive situations with their peers. My main objective was to get acquainted and to understand their preferences, their development based on what they watch, their feelings and expectations, and the modes of relationship between their experiences and television news. The analysis involved television news production, broadcasting data and its repercussion in their lives. Thus, children were regarded as culture producers and consumers as well as a critical audience of newscasts. In order to know the attributes of events that might become news on television and at the same time to be able to understand the different repercussions of such news in these childrens lives, the theoretical approach included diverse areas such as Social Communication, Education and Theory of Literature. Those were guided, which was always guided by the possibilities of conceptual limit and range, allowing for the transition from one discipline to another.

[en] WHAT TEACHERS FIND THAT THEY LEARN WITH TELEVISION / [pt] O QUE OS PROFESSORES ACHAM QUE APRENDEM COM A TELEVISÃO

CÍNTIA NASCIMENTO DE OLIVEIRA CONCEIÇÃO 20 May 2019 (has links)
[en] This dissertation aims to understand how teachers analyze the content of audiovisual products that they watch in television and how it can interfere in the classroom. The television is a popular media that constituted throughout the years as an important instrument of homogenization of habits, behaviors and values of contemporary societies. Knowing what teachers see on TV, what they like, dislike and look at how they evaluate the quality and relevance of television programming are some of the main questions of this study. The research had a qualitative character and has been carried out with public school teachers in Rio de Janeiro, who participated in training courses on media-education. from interviews and questionnaire responses made to the research, Media and youth: educational and social contexts, developed by the GRUPEM - Research Group in Education and Media and the LAEd - Laboratory Evaluation of Education, we analyzed the cultural consumption of the teachers and everyday practices, especially the ways of use television. The results were analyzed based on the theory of Jesus Martin- Barbero, Guillermo Orozco Gómez and reception studies of Latin America, which understand the media consumer is active and interacts in the relation with Medias. That relationship is mediated by several different types of cultural mediation. This research found that teachers interact with few sources of cultural mediation in their everyday lives and this may negative affect the relationship with TV.

[en] THE DESIGN IN THE TELEVISION: ONE TO LOOK AT ON THE VIGNETTES OF OPENING OF THE SOAP OPERAS OF THE TV GLOBO / [pt] O DESIGN NA TELEDRAMATURGIA: UM OLHAR SOBRE AS VINHETAS DE ABERTURA DAS TELENOVELAS DA TV GLOBO

ROGERIO DE ABREU DORNELES 11 January 2008 (has links)
[en] The term vignette, originally, assigned the visual representations that decorated the iluminures and that they presented symbolic character. The vignettes gains graphical identity with the appearance of the press. The vignette goes to be one of the first manifestations of the visual programming, having its origin in the iluminures, That shows that a style form is the consequence of other already used previously art forms. Caming originary from the openings of the movies, the TV Globo soup-opera opening vignettes present a specific language, whose aesthetic text can be extremely relevant. In the beginning of century XX the cinematographic language incorporated the vignettes, as much for the opening of the films, how much for the posters that passed information written between different sequences, in the dumb cinema. While in the films the spectator sees the opening vignettes only one time, in the television the vignettes is repeated to each program or each chapter of the soap-opera, what allows another kind of envolvement. In this in case, some vignettes aesthetic characters can be better evaluated, a time that appears a time of perception of its images. It shows, therefore, a perception while duration - it frees, therefore, the instant immediate of the unic cinema presentation. The look of the viewer finds, to each repetition, new possibilities of associations that ahead allow significant inferences it sufficiently next to the interpretation work of a work of art. After the first vignettes created by videographics, (Department of creation and production in Design of the TV Globo) Brazil if has detached world-wide in terms of production of vignette televiews. Currently, the refinement of the techniques allows diversified effect, with fast movements, the three-dimensional illusion, the metamorphoses of the images, the design, the chromatic and sonorous games - all they, however, dependents of the supervision and envolvement of designers, that adds it the poetical dimension to the effect programmed for the computer.

[en] TELEVISION AND RURAL LIFE: A SYMBOLIC MAP OF THE RECEPTION IN VISTA ALEGRE / [pt] TELEVISÃO E COTIDIANO RURAL: UMA CARTOGRAFIA SIMBÓLICA DA RECEPÇÃO EM VISTA ALEGRE

ANA LUCIA MORAIS DA SILVA 20 September 2007 (has links)
[en] This paper intends to record the results of research in Vista Alegre, a place in rural Santa Maria Madalena, a 10,840 inhabitant Municipality located in the mid-northern region of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The study attempts to draw a symbolic map of the reception of television discourse among some rural farmers` families in this community which was served with electricity and received television broadcast in 2001. The idea is to understand how identities and social relations are modified and reestablished within this specific context; i.e., a rural community which is far from the Municipality of origin, where there is no commerce and the only buildings that differ from the rural houses are those of the Municipal School and the headquarters of the Church of the Assembly of God. The research does not consider a specific TV program as reference but rather, individual preferences and thus, tries to individualize, under the assumption that resistance may challenge the homogenization postulate which treats everyone in the same way. In a world which intends to be growingly connected, more globalized, it`s precisely the differences that get inclusion processes moving. It`s about checking the possibility of regarding different interpretations of products aired on television, a glance that may contribute to the inclusion of complexities in the communication process.

[en] CHILDREN AND TELEVISION: A STUDY OF INFANTILE AUDIENCE AND INTERVENING FACTORS / [pt] CRIANÇAS E TELEVISÃO: UM ESTUDO DE AUDIÊNCIA INFANTIL E DE FATORES INTERVENIENTES

RITA REZENDE VIEIRA P MIGLIORA 11 October 2007 (has links)
[en] This dissertation defines the socio-economic profile of the children who participated in the poll What do I think about TV? carried out by the Education and Media Research Group (Grupo de Pesquisa em Educação e Mídia) and analyses on a descriptive manner, the cultural consumption of these children, the time they dedicate to watching TV, the ways they interact with the vehicle and levels and ways schools and families act as intervening factors. The data supporting this research were built based on factorial and bivariate analysis of the responses 718 children with ages varying between 8 as 12, students of eight public schools and three private schools in the states of Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais, gave answering a self administered questionnaire. The variables which were analyzed are the following: impact of TV in the children´s lives - related to the time they dedicate to watching TV and the activities they end up not doing as a result of that; the children´s standard of cultural consumption; their family dialogue; their knowledge about TV; the school/television and family/television relationships; and their economic standards. As theoretical methodological references, infantile audience researches carries out in the UK by Livingstone; in Spain by Bailén and Aguaded and in Portugal by Matos were used. The studies of Ortigão and Aguiar about Coleman´s concepts of economic and social capital oriented the analysis and description of the children´s economic profile, cultural consumption and family dialogue. The Theory of Multimediations developed by Guillermo Orozco-Gómez, oriented the analysis of data related to the roles of family and school in the children´s relationship with TV. The results indicate that: 1) these children have very intense television consumption time wise - more than three hours per day every day of the week - and with respect to the knowledge about TV and its languages - they are experts in the area; 2) they have a clear preference for fictional programs (soap operas, movies and series) and have immense pleasure in watching these programs;; 3) they almost always watch their preferred TV shows with adults, what suggests that the presence of the family is an important mediation source; 4) the school has an significant role in the children´s relationship with television.
