[pt] Em Estudos em vermelho: caminhos do enigma, estabelecemos um diálogo entre o romance policial em sua configuração clássica e narrativas contemporâneas que se apropriam de elementos estruturantes fundadores, reinventando um novo estatuto e novas funções para a figura do narrador, do personagem do detetive e o seu objeto de investigação, o enigma. Neste diálogo são aprofundados os pressupostos que sustentam as motivações e os caminhos privilegiados na busca de soluções para desvendar enigmas em analogia à função do cientista, comprometido com diversas formas de construção de conhecimento. / [en] In Studies in scarlet: roads to the enigma, our aim is to propose a dialogue between the Poesque detective story and its elaborations and the subversion of the classical genre by a contemporary form that reshapes the seeeming dead-end racionality and its basic elements, such as the narrator, the detective and his object of investigation, the enigma. Throughout this dialogue the basic motivations and means privileged in the search for solutions to the enigma are paralleled to that of the cientist´s in his commitment to the distinct modes of construction of knowledge.

[pt] Baseada em teorias empíricas da literatura de orientação construtivista, a tese oferece um modelo para o desenvolvimento de uma conscientização literária em vista de uma socialização literária, que leva em conta as múltiplas articulações implicadas na visão da literatura como complexo processo cultural, social e estético. Partindo do desejo de contribuir para uma nova pedagogia dos estudos de literatura, o projeto se apropria de instrumentos teóricos recentes que facultam uma crescente expansão em direção a uma perspectiva sistêmica da literatura. Neste âmbito, o modelo proposto abre novos espaços para lidar com uma variedade de fenômenos literários que se enquadram tanto na tradição canônica quanto em novas formas de entretenimento. / [en] Based on empirical theories of the constructivist oriented literature, the thesis offers a model to develop a literary consciousness given the literary socialization which accounts for the multiple articulations implied in the view of literature as a complex cultural process. Departing from the wish to contribute to a new pedagogy of the literary studies, the project uses recent theoretical instruments which authorize a crescent expansion towards a systemic perspective on literature. Is such environment, the model proposed opens new spaces to deal with a variety of literary phenomena which fit both in the canon tradition and the new entertainment modes as well.

[pt] Esta tese consiste na abordagem crítica de narrativas literárias que performam uma dicção autobiográfica afeta ao modo ficcional, através do qual são rescindidos os tradicionais pactos em torno da identidade escritor-narrador e os pressupostos de autenticidade e sinceridade subjacentes a processos de comunicação que envolvem as memórias narradas. Trata-se dos ego-escritos ficcionais, cujo investimento estético se evidencia na simultânea afirmação e oscilação na construção identitária da primeira pessoa do singular, fundada numa discursividade que se vale de dispositivos do simulado e do falso para desestabilizar os limites tradicionais entre os universos intra e extra diegéticos tradicionais sem apagá-los, mas, ao contrário, acentuar sua diferença. Os egoescritos comparecem, assim, na cena literária contemporânea como um espaço narrativo questionador do estatuto do autobiográfico, não só pela refutação do seu modelo representativo, mas pelo seu devir-cartografia, ou seja, sua atualização escritural como sistema autopoiético aberto a experimentações e intervenções discursivas diversas. Para efetuar uma investigação consistente dos ego-escritos ficcionais esta tese se apropria de contribuições conceituais emigradas da Geofilosofia de Gilles Deleuze e Felix Guattari e da vertente da Sociologia capitaneada por Niklas Luhmann, apresentando uma rentabilidade que estende seu alcance desde o plano da análise literária - em particular nas produções recentes dos escritores John Barth, Silviano Santiago e Rosa Montero - até outras manifestações estéticas, como a cinematográfica e a as artes plásticas, que nesta tese figuram como suporte para melhor visibilidade da dinâmica nomadológica da primeira pessoa. / [en] This thesis investigates literary narratives wherein autobiographical diction allows itself to be affected by fictional elements. These fictional ego-writings stand upon a breach of traditional autobiographical pact as well as the claims of authenticity and honesty which underlie processes of communication entailing narrated memories. Fictional ego-writings`s decisive aesthetic investment becomes evident in the simultaneous affirmation and oscillation of difference within identity constructions of the first person of singular - its discursivity relying upon fakery and simulation. These proceedings destabilize traditional borders between inter and extra diegetic universes - albeit without effacing them - but rather by emphasizing their difference. Fictional ego-writings come upon contemporary literary scene as provocative narrative spaces, questioning the very claims upon which autobiographical writings are founded. This accomplishment is not a mere refutation of their model, but indeed the narrative`s space of becomingcartography. In this sense, fictional ego-writings operate as open Autopoietic systems, susceptible to discursive experimentations and interventions. These investigations rely upon concepts borrowed from Gilles Deleuze`s and Felix Guattari`s Geophilosophy as well as certain notions derived from Niklas Luhmann`s sociological theories, the goal being not only to utilize them in a context of literary studies - i.e. readings of particular works of such authors as John Barth, Silviano Santiago and Rosa Montero - but also to expand the grasp of these theorizations by applying them to other forms of artistic manifestations, such as cinema and contemporary arts, in which the nomadological dynamics of the first person is prominent.

[pt] O presente estudo analisa os aspectos comunicativos da visualidade de personagens de curta-metragens de animação contemporâneos brasileiros, empregando recursos oferecidos pela Semiologia. O cinema de animação é uma arte que tomou contornos na virada do século XX. Junto à indústria cultural, consolidou inúmeras personagens na memória de espectadores em todo o mundo. Contudo, os altos custos de produção das obras animadas obrigam muitos artistas a realizarem seus filmes independentes no formato de curtas metragens. Devido à brevidade dos filmes, esses criadores empregam repetidamente tipos e caricaturas como personagens principais, apresentando-os sob a forma de signos de fácil reconhecimento pela maioria dos espectadores. Esta pesquisa parte da hipótese de que a visualidade das personagens de obras cinematográficas de animação breves é um sistema projetado (intencionalmente ou não) para transmitir ao espectador mensagens de compreensão praticamente imediata a respeito da narrativa apresentada e dos conceitos personificados pelas personagens no curto intervalo de tempo em que elas estão em cena. Com base no levantamento de sessenta principais personagens apresentadas nos filmes brasileiros premiados no festival Anima Mundi em suas doze primeiras edições (1993-2004), esta dissertação investigou os estereótipos existentes nas produções recentes do cinema de animação brasileiro. Em seguida, buscou delinear maneiras com que os elementos visuais que os constituem atuam no processo de significação das personagens animadas, articulando-se enquanto uma linguagem visual específica. Para realizar tal investigação, os procedimentos metodológicos adotados tomaram por fundamentos os estudos de Semiologia de Roland Barthes e o conceito de atributos das personagens desenvolvido por Vladimir Propp. / [en] This paper analyses the communicative aspects of the look of contemporary Brazilian animation short movie´s characters, using resources from Semiology. Animation cinema became an art at the beginning of the 20th century. With the cultural industry, it has cemented lots of characters in spectator´s memories around the world. However, the high expenses of animated movies´ production force many artists to produce their authorial animations as short movies. Due to the brevity of these movies, their creators repeatedly use types and caricatures as main characters, presented morphologically as signs that can easily be recognized by most of the audiences. This research considers the hypothesis that the look of characters from animated short movies is a system designed (intentionally or not) to communicate to the spectator messages of prompt comprehension concerned to the narrative shown and to the concepts personified by the characters in the short period of time in which they are acting. Based on the survey of sixty main characters from Brazilian awarded movies at the twelve first editions of Anima Mundi festival (1993- 2004), this dissertation investigated the existing stereotypes in recent Brazilian animation short movies. Then, it tried to outline ways in which the visual elements that constitute these stereotypes act in the signifying process of the animated characters, working together as a specific visual language. In order to carry out such investigation, the adopted methodological procedures were based on Roland Barthes´ Semiology and Vladimir Propp´s concept of characters´ attributes.

[pt] De primeira hora, no calor da hora: a crítica brasileira de literatura infantil nas décadas de 1970 e 1980 estuda a produção da crítica literária brasileira dos anos 1970 a 1980 sobre literatura infantil, com ênfase nas contribuições seminais nestas décadas, período divisor de águas, considerado o boom da nova literatura infantil e juvenil brasileira. A tese se desenvolve a partir da revisão bibliográfica das publicações de críticos literários brasileiros de literatura infantil selecionadas a partir de três pontos de produção significativa durante o período estudado: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro e Região Sul do Brasil, apontando aproximações e distanciamentos teóricos entre suas contribuições. Ao investigar em que medida esta crítica brasileira se constitui como elemento fundador de uma nova literatura infantil e juvenil brasileira a partir da década de 1970, a tese discute como estes autores de crítica literária definiram a literatura infantil e juvenil brasileira como objeto teórico na forma que hoje reconhecemos, demonstrando, assim, o papel desta geração de críticos como criadora mesma da literatura infantil brasileira ao lado de seus autores de ficção, e não mera repetidora. / [en] In the heat of the moment: Brazilian children s literature criticism in the 1970 s/80 s is the title of the present thesis about Brazilian literary criticism studies between 1970 and 1980 about children s literature. The thesis analyzes the key role of the theory authors during those remarkable decades known as the boom of the Brazilian children s literature. Adopting the bibliographical review method, the thesis investigates theory authors from Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and the south part of Brazil, where significant theoretical studies about children s literature were produced back in the 1970 s and 1980 s. The thesis demonstrates how this particular generation of literary critics contributes as founder of the new Brazilian children s literature, side by side with the fiction writers of the same period.

[pt] É a partir da premissa de que em cada obra literária cabem distintas estratégias de escrita que essa dissertação realiza a leitura do romance português Balada da Praia dos Cães. Com a finalidade de identificar como funciona a oficina criativa do autor José Cardoso Pires nesse caso específico, realizou-se um mapeamento que busca entender os diversos procedimentos formais utilizados no âmbito da escrita desse livro. Para tal são analisados aspectos tanto estruturais (sua construção de camadas diegéticas, sua variação nos registros e nas vozes narrativas) quanto do enredo (sua opção por uma temática policialesca e sua aproximação com a lógica do romance histórico). O objetivo, além de aprofundar a leitura e o entendimento do autor e desse romance, é reaproximar, ainda que minimamente, os estudos literários de sua matéria por excelência, as obras de ficção, a partir da relação entre o momento da escrita criadora e sua consumação nas leituras. / [en] It is based on the premise that to every literary work fits different writing strategies that this dissertation takes a reading of the portuguese novel Balada da praia dos cães. With the purpose of identifying how the creative workshop of the author José Cardoso Pires works in this specific case, it has been carried out a mapping that seeks to understand the various formal procedures used in the framework of the writing of this book. For such purpose are analyzed both structural aspects (its construction of narrative layers, its variation in the records and the narrative voices) as much as of the plot (its choice for a police thematic and its rapprochement with the logic of the historical novel). The goal, as well as to deepen the reading and understanding of the author and of this novel, is reconnecting, even minimally, the literary studies of its matter par excellence, the works of fiction, from the relationship between the time of creative writing and its consummation in readings.
