Работа посвящена анализу метафорического моделирования образа действующего президента Франции и кандидата на второй срок, Эммануэля Макрона, в период предвыборной кампании. Объектом исследования являются метафорические словоупотребления в текстах французских СМИ, актуализирующие концептуальную сферу-мишень «Эммануэль Макрон». Предметом исследования являются особенности метафорического моделирования образа политика во французских СМИ. Цель исследования заключается в классификации наиболее употребимых метафорических моделей и описании особенностей развертывания метафорических моделей в данном контексте. Материал исследования составили 128 метафорических словоупотреблений, выявленных в текстах французских СМИ, опубликованных в период предвыборной кампании 2022 года. Методом сплошной выборки были отобраны фрагменты из наиболее читаемых французским СМИ: «Aujourd'hui en Frаnсe», «Libérаtion», «Politis», «Le Point», «Le Figаro», «Pаris Mаtсh», «L’Express», «Le nouvel observаteur», «Сhаrlie Hebdo», «Le Pаrisien», «Mаriаnne», «Le Journаl du Dimаnсhe», «Libérаtion» и «Le Figаro». Классификация и анализ отобранных текстовых фрагментов осуществлялся с помощью информационной систeмы экспeртного анализа «Лингвистика». Взятая за основу классификация А. П. Чудинова была значительно уточнена и дополнена в ходе работы. Для достижения поставленных целей использовался метод метафорического моделирования, дающий возможность выявить специфику доминантных метафорических моделей. Как показал анализ полученной статистики, чаще всего образ Э. Макрона концептуализируется с помощью метафор, относящихся к субсфере «Человек и социум» (по классификации А.П. Чудинова). Наиболее продуктивной в этой субсфере является монархическая метафора. Предполагается, что выявленное распределение метафор с большим перевесом в социальной субсфере обусловлено определением (метафорической номинацией) Э. Макрона через приписываемые ему социальные роли. Среди других доминирующих разрядов метафор можно назвать зооморфную метафору (субсфера «Природа»), физиологическую и морбиальную метафоры (субсфера «Человек»). Отдельное внимание в работе уделяется описанию и интерпретации выявленных метафорических моделей. Настоящая работа актуальна для понимания механизмов политической коммуникации в медиадискурсе и превалирующей роли метафоры как способа познания, категоризации, концептуализации и оценки мира политики. / The study analyzes the metaphorical modeling of the Emmanuel Macron’s political image in the modern French media and political discourse. The object of the study is the amount of metaphors that were found in French printed media and were used by the authors to conceptualize the target domain «Emmanuel Macron». The subject of research is the specifics of metaphorical modelling applicable for Emmanuel Macron’s political image. The objective of the research is to classify the most used metaphorical models and to describe the functioning of metaphorical models in the given context. The research material consists of 128 metaphors, found in the French press that came out in the period of 2022 electoral campaign. The metaphor usages were selected (in the mode of continuous sampling method) from the most read French media such as : «Aujourd'hui en Frаnсe», «Libérаtion», «Politis», «Le Point», «Le Figаro», «Pаris Mаtсh», «L’Express», «Le nouvel observаteur», «Сhаrlie Hebdo», «Le Pаrisien», «Mаriаnne», «Le Journаl du Dimаnсhe», «Libérаtion» and «Le Figаro». The selected textual fragments were classified and analyzed with the use of “Lingvistica”, the system of expert analysis. The study is based on the classification of metaphors by the Russian linguist A. P. Chudinov. It was significantly specified and increased in the process. Attaining the goals of the study was made possible due to the method of metaphorical modeling, which helps identify the specifics of dominant metaphorical models. The analysis showed that the image of Emmanuel Macron is preferably conceptualized with social metaphor (according to Chudinov’s classification). In this group of metaphors, the one prevailing is the monarchical metaphor. It is assumed that the apparent proportioning of metaphors within the metaphors’ groups is due to the social roles attributed to Emmanuel Macron. Among the other prevailing categories of metaphors there are the animalistic metaphor, physiological and morbial metaphors. The study gives particular attention to the description and interpretation of the discovered metaphorical models. The present study is of particular interest for those who search to understand the mechanisms of political communication in media discourse and the prevailing role of metaphor as a method of cognition, categorization, conceptualization and assessment of the world of politics.

Работа посвящена сравнительному изучению доминантных и специфичных метафорических моделей, конструирующих образ СВО в период с 24.02.2022 г. по 24.08.2022 г. в англоязычной и русскоязычной блогосферах. В качестве материала для исследования были использованы персональные политические видеоблоги: англоязычный видеоблог «CaspianReport» и русскоязычный видеоблог «БесогонTV». В ходе исследования были выделены и проанализированы 293 метафорические модели, 146 на английском языке и 147 на русском. В первой части работы рассматриваются подходы к определению политического дискурса и анализируются его особенности. Далее рассматривается процесс метафорического моделирования в политическом дискурсе, поскольку теория политической метафоры является одним из активно развивающихся направлений когнитивной лингвистики. Далее рассматриваются блогосфера и сфера интернет-дискурса и их характерные особенности. Во второй части работы описываются источники и принципы отбора материала, выявляются и систематизируются концептуальные метафоры в англоязычном и русскоязычном политических персональных видеоблогах. Основываясь на материале исследования, анализируются доминантные и специфичные метафорические модели, участвующие в создании образа СВО в сюжетах видеоблогов. В ходе анализа выявилось, что в англоязычном видеоблоге самой частотной сферой-источником стала «Игра и спорт», в русскоязычном – «Человеческий организм». Также в работе описан подробный анализ фреймов в сферах-источниках выявленных метафорических моделей. Для каждого видеоблога делаются сравнительные количественные наблюдения, представленные в виде диаграмм. Результаты исследования могут быть использованы в практике преподавания иностранного языка, курсов по политической лингвистике, дискурсу, политической метафорологии, межкультурной коммуникации. В приложении приводится список проанализированных англоязычных и русскоязычных метафорических единиц в контексте сюжетов видеоблогов. / The work is devoted to the comparative study of dominant and specific metaphorical models that create the image of a special military operation in the English-speaking and Russian-speaking blogospheres. The analysis of events covers the period from February 24, 2022 to August 24, 2022. Personal political videoblogs are used as research material: the English-language videoblog "CaspianReport" and the Russian-language videoblog "BesogonTV". During the study, 293 metaphorical models were identified and analyzed, 146 in English and 147 in Russian. In the first part of the work, approaches to the definition of political discourse are considered and its features are analyzed. Next, the process of metaphorical modeling in political discourse is considered, since the theory of political metaphor is one of the actively developing areas of cognitive linguistics. Next, the blogosphere and the sphere of Internet discourse and their characteristic features are considered. In the second part of the work the sources and principles of material selection are described, conceptual metaphors in English and Russian-language political personal videoblogs are identified and systematized. Based on the research material, the dominant and specific metaphorical models involved in creating the image of a special military operation in the plots of videoblogs are analyzed. During the analysis, it is revealed that in the English-language videoblog, the most frequent source-domain is "Game and Sport", in the Russian–language – "The Human body". The paper also describes a detailed analysis of frames in the source-domain of the identified metaphorical models. Comparative quantitative observations are made for each videoblog, presented in the form of diagrams. The results of the research can be used in the practice of teaching a foreign language, courses in political linguistics, discourse, political metaphorology, intercultural communication. The appendix contains a list of analyzed English and Russian metaphorical units in the context of videoblog plots.

Магистерская диссертация посвящена исследованию фреймо-слотовой структуры концептуальной метафоры ДЕНЬГИ – ВОДА. В опоре на методику описания концептуальных метафор выделены три ключевых фрейма, отражающих устойчивые метафорические переносы: «Агрегатные состояния воды», «Водные и гидротехнические объекты и явления», «Свойства воды». На богатом текстовом материале из российских газет и журналов последних 30 лет описаны 11 слотов данной концептуальной метафоры. Кроме того, представлены семантические и оценочные варианты реализации концептуальной метафоры ДЕНЬГИ – ЖИДКОСТЬ: ДЕНЬГИ – КРОВЬ, ДЕНЬГИ – СЛЕЗЫ, ДЕНЬГИ – ЖИДКОЕ ЛЕКАРСТВО / ЖИДКИЙ НАРКОТИК; ДЕНЬГИ – МОЛОКО. / The master's thesis is devoted to the study of the frame-slot structure of the conceptual metaphor MONEY – WATER. Based on the methodology of describing conceptual metaphors, three key frames reflecting stable metaphorical transfers are identified: "Aggregate states of water", "Water and hydraulic engineering objects and phenomena", "Properties of water". 11 slots of this conceptual metaphor are described on the rich text material from Russian newspapers and magazines of the last 30 years. In addition, semantic and evaluative options for the implementation of the conceptual metaphor MONEY – LIQUID are presented: MONEY – BLOOD, MONEY – TEARS, MONEY – LIQUID MEDICINE / LIQUID DRUG; MONEY – MILK.

La présente étude intitulée «Terminologie juridique moderne de la langue anglaise: aspects linguistiques et cognitifs » aborde le langage juridique contemporain dans le cadre de la linguistique cognitive. Les objectifs de l'étude sont d'étudier les particularités de la terminologie juridique et de proposer des principes de systématisation, en se référant à la théorie cognitive de la métaphore. Il s’agit principalement : 1) de déterminer les concepts de base utilisés métaphoriquement dans la langue juridique ; 2) d'établir les correspondances principales entre domaines et les corrélations entre des éléments particuliers dans des domaines spécifiques. Pour répondre à cette question, un corpus d’anglais juridique a été constitué et soumis à une étude quantitative. Les expressions métaphoriques liées à la terminologie juridique ont été retirés et classés selon leur sens métaphorique. Il est ainsi apparu que les métaphores conceptuelles de la GUERRE, de la MEDECINE, du SPORT et de la CONSTRUCTION étaient les plus nombreuses et prégnantes en anglais juridique. Les projections et correspondances entre ces domaines sources et le domaine cible de la LOI ont été établies.Cette étude empirique repose sur 156 textes juridiques qui ont été rassemblés au sein d’un même corpus (COLE – Corpus of Legal English). Les sources renvoient à différentes catégories thématiques. Le corpus a été utilisé pour établir la réalité de certains phénomènes et interpréter les résultats quantitatifs dans le cadre de la théorie de la métaphore conceptuelle. / The present doctoral dissertation entitled “Modern English Legal Terminology: linguistic and cognitive aspects” investigates the contemporary legal idiom, from a cognitive linguistics perspective. The aim of this study is to map out the peculiarities of English legal terminology and develop principles of systematization, within the framework of conceptual metaphor theory. This means 1) determining the basic concepts used metaphorically in English legal language, and 2) establishing the main cross-domain mappings and correlations between separate items within concrete domains.The Corpus of Legal English (COLE) was set up and a quantitative analysis performed, in which metaphorical expressions related to legal terminology were searched for and classified on the basis of meanings, conceptual domains and mappings. Thus, the conceptual metaphors of WAR, MEDICINE, SPORT and CONSTRUCTION were found to be the most numerous and valuable in Legal English. The main cross-domain mappings between these source domains and the target domain of LAW were established.In order to carry out this data-driven study, 156 legal texts were selected and compiled into the Corpus of Legal English (COLE). The source-texts represent various thematic categories. The COLE was systematically used to interpret frequency counts from the point of view of conceptual metaphor theory. / Дисертаційне дослідження на тему «Сучасна англійська юридична термінологія: лінгвокогнитивний аспект» досліджує сучасну мову права з точки зору когнітивної лінгвістики. Головною метою дослідження було дослідження особливостей англійської юридичної термінології та принципів її систематизації з точки зору когнітивної теорії і власне теорії концептуальної метафори. В ході написання роботи були поставлені наступні цілі: 1) визначити головні концепти які використовуються у якості метафор в англійській мові права; 2) встановити головні концептуальні зв’язки між окремими елементами доменів.З метою вирішення цих питань і задач був проведений кількісний аналіз корпусу юридичної англійської мови. В ході цього аналізу біли виділені та класифіковані метафоричні вирази які пов’язані з юридичною термінологією згідно їх метафоричного значення. В результаті аналізу було виявлено що концептуальні метафори WAR, MEDICINE, SPORT та CONSTRUCTION займають домінуюче положення в мові права. Також були встановлені основні концептуальні зв’язки між сферою-джерелом та сферою-ціллю.В даному дослідженні було використано спеціально створений корпус, який включає в себе 156 правових текстів різноманітної сюжетної направленості, для проведення кількісного аналізу з точки зору концептуальної метафори.

В рамках данной работы представлен фрагмент исследования политических метафор, которые задействуются в формировании образа России в британских СМИ. Цель данного исследования – изучить специфику метафорических моделей, объективирующих образ России в СМИ Великобритании. Анализ производится с помощью корпусных технологий, анализируется массив материала из англоязычного корпуса NOW (News on the web). Наряду с дефиницией метафорической модели как элемента, апеллирующего к когнитивной деятельности человека, отобранные метафорические единицы сортировались по разрядам и видам, была указана их дискурсивная характеристика, дана оценка продуктивности метафорической модели при моделировании образа России, а также характеристика прагматического потенциала модели. При анализе и интерпретации метафор использовались работы известных отечественных лингвистов. Материал отбирался из британских газет и журналов в период с 01.01.2019 по 30.04.2021 (использованы такие издания как «The Spectator», «The Guardian», «The «Politico», «The New European» и др.). Метод метафорического моделирования, который используется в работе, представляет возможность выявить специфику доминантных метафорических моделей. В исследовании также используется описательный метод, который позволяет включить в работу интерпретационную методику. Данные методы позволяют комплексно проанализировать собранный материал и изучить метафорический образ России в британских СМИ. Актуальность исследования определяется процессами глобализации, которые расширяют границы межкультурной коммуникации. Они обязывают исследовать то, как образ России воспринимается в других странах для составления имиджа страны, работы с ним и его корректировки. / This article presents a fragment of the study of political metaphors that form the image of Russia in the British media. The purpose of this study is to find the specifics of metaphorical models that objectify the image of Russia. The analysis is carried out with corpus technologies, the material was taken from the English-language NOW corpus (News on the web) and analyzed. Along with the definition of the metaphorical model as an element appealing to the cognitive activity of a person, the selected metaphorical units were sorted by categories and types, their discursive characteristics are indicated, the productivity of each metaphorical model in modeling the image of Russia is evaluated, the pragmatic potential of the models are given. The works of well-known Russian linguists were used in the analysis and interpretation of metaphors. The material was selected from British newspapers and magazines in the period from 01.01.2019 to 30.04.2021 (such media as "The Spectator", "The Guardian", "The "Politico", "The New European", etc. were used). The method of metaphorical modeling, which is used in the paper, provides an opportunity to identify the specifics of dominant metaphorical models. The study also uses a descriptive method, which allows to include an interpretative method in the work. These methods allow us to comprehensively analyze the collected material and study the metaphorical image of Russia in the British media. The relevance of the research is determined by the processes of globalization, which expand the boundaries of intercultural communication. They oblige us to study how the image of Russia is perceived in other countries to create the image of the country, work with it and adjust it.

The master’s thesis is devoted to the comparison operators as and like, comparison being their first and basic meaning. Over the course of time they have undergone various metaphorical transfers, which have led to their polysemy. According to the authors of dictionaries and English grammars, the word as can function as a conjunction (denoting comparison, time, cause, condition, concession, manner, purpose), preposition, adverb, pronoun. As regards the word like, it can function as a conjunction, preposition, particle, adverb (discourse marker). The author attempts to present the diachronic sense development of the two lexemes with the help of etymological dictionaries and books on the history of English. The word as is described as a precedent linguistic unit, which involves the transfer of meaning from basic comparison to new situations. The thesis examines the pragmatic and socio-linguistic aspects of the development of the word like, as they are presented in the works of Russian and foreign linguists. The peculiarities of grammaticalization and subjectification of the English word like, owing to which it has acquired the function of a discourse marker, are also described. The following pragmatic functions are identified: metalinguistic, emphatic, hesitational, quotative, examplificatory, approximative. The thesis also presents a comparative analysis of the usage of the words as and like in fiction and scientific prose (with reference to the British novel Bridget Jones’s Diary by Helen Fielding and the journal Nature). / Магистерская диссертация посвящена исследованию английских служебных слов as и like как инструментов логической операции сравнения. Сравнение является их понятийной основой, из которой развились другие значения, в частности, на основе метафорического переноса. Обе единицы обладают широкой семантикой и выполняют множество функций. Согласно авторам словарей и английских грамматик, слово as может функционировать как союз (сравнения, времени, причины, условия, уступки, образа действия, цели), предлог, наречие, местоимение. Слово like может выполнять функции союза, предлога, частицы, наречия (дискурсивного маркера). Предпринята попытка выстроить порядок развития значений двух единиц с привлечением данных этимологических словарей и работ по истории английского языка. В диссертации доказывается статус слова as как прецедентной грамматической единицы, в которой реализуется грамматическая метафора и происходит перенос базового значения сравнения на новые ситуации. Рассматриваются прагматические и социолингвистические аспекты развития слова like, как они представлены в работах отечественных и зарубежных лингвистов. Особое внимание уделяется особенностям грамматикализации и субъектификации данной единицы, вследствие которых она приобрела функции дискурсивного маркера. Отмечаются такие прагматические функции like, как металингвистическая, эмфатическая, функция заполнения хезитационной паузы, функция введения в предложение прямой речи, примера, примерного количества. Кроме того, проводится сопоставительный анализ функционирования слов as и like в английской художественной и научной прозе (на материале романа Хелен Филдинг «Bridget Jones’s Diary» и научно-популярного журнала «Nature»).

Автор представляет классификацию метафорических моделей по разрядам концептуальных метафор, выявляет ключевые концепты, репрезентирующий каждый разряд, и устанавливает лингвокогнитивные особенности хип-хоп текстов Эминема. Проводя сопоставительный анализ оригинала и перевода концептуальных метафор, автор определяет качество и особенности перевода метафор в соответствии с особенностями идиостиля хип-хоп исполнителя. / The master's dissertation is devoted to a cognitive study of conceptual metaphors in Eminem's poetry and a comparative analysis of their translation into Russian. The author presents the classification of metaphorical models according to the categories of conceptual metaphors, identifies key concepts representing each category, and establishes the linguocognitive features of Eminem’s hip-hop texts. Due to a comparative analysis of the original and the translation of conceptual metaphors, the author determines the quality and peculiarities of the translation of metaphors in accordance with the idiostyle of the hip-hop artist.

Выпускная квалификационная работа посвящена изучению когнитивных метафор в дипломатическом дискурсе. Данный феномен рассматривается на примере речи официального представителя Министерства Иностранных Дел Российской Федерации Марии Захаровой. Теоретическая глава содержит описание дипломатического дискурса как феномена, смежного с другими дискурсами (политическим, масс-медийным, военным, юридическим), а также перечисление лингвистических особенностей дипломатических текстов. Автором также представлены основные положения теории концептуальной метафоры. В практической части исследование проведен лингвокогнитивный анализ метафор в речи российского дипломата Марии Захаровой. Выделены разные типы социоморфных, ориентационных, антропоморфных, артефактных метафор, которые получают когнитивную и лингвоаксиологическую интерпретацию. Выявлены наиболее частотные метафорические модели (метафоры искусства, войны, пути). / The final qualifying work is devoted to the study of cognitive metaphors in diplomatic discourse. This phenomenon is considered on the example of the speech of the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova. The theoretical chapter contains a description of diplomatic discourse as a phenomenon related to other discourses (political, mass media, military, legal), as well as a list of linguistic features of diplomatic texts. The author also presents the main provisions of the theory of conceptual metaphor. A linguocognitive analysis of metaphors in the speech of Russian diplomat Maria Zakharova was conducted in the practical part of the study. Different types of sociomorphic, orientational, anthropomorphic, and artifact metaphors are identified. They receive cognitive and linguo-axiological interpretation. The most frequent metaphorical model revealed (metaphors of the art, metaphors of war, metaphors of the way).
