Trade Relations between Mexico and the EU / Trade Relations between Mexico and the EU

Sánchez Jiménez, María del Socorro January 2009 (has links)
Mexico and Europe have strong historical and cultural ties. Nowadays, even though the main commercial partner for Mexico is the United States there is a high interest in strengthen the relationship with the EU, to diversify trading partners and to reduce the dependency on the USA. In the framework of the diversification strategy the "Global Agreement", which main part is the European Union-Mexico Free Trade Agreement (EUMFTA), was signed. Even though the most industrialized countries of the EU such as Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Spain and Italy are the priority for Mexico, it would also like to strengthen its relations with other EU member countries such as the Czech Republic. Mexico and the Czech Republic have reinforced their trade relation by signing bilateral agreements aimed at encouraging bilateral trade cooperation and also at protecting their investments.

Goryashenko, Maya January 2010 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the level of economic and trade cooperation between the EU and Azerbaijan starting from the beginning of its formation. I have used SWOT analysis tool to show different aspects which influence current level and further possibilities for cooperation. The study finds that, the EU is presently a major investor and trade partner of Azerbaijan. Up to latest time, the main factor of cooperation was the country's energy resources. However, later Azerbaijan has enlarged its participation by enrollment in the EU Eastern Partnership agreement and European Neighborhood Policy (ENP) and is currently closely working with the EU in a number of areas. Azerbaijan is seeking for the membership in the WTO which can potentially facilitate trade flows between the two parties and bring the country closer to the European market.

Den sovande jättens uppvaknande? : En kvalitativ studie om politiseringsgraden i riksdagens EU-nämnd i frågan om EU:s återhämtningsfond

Lindström, Linnéa January 2021 (has links)
Some researchers argue that EU affairs are being depoliticized on a national level, while others claim the opposite. If EU affairs are characterized by depoliticization, it is a democratic problem, since voters do not have the possibility to choose between different political options. Therefore, the aim of this study was to test the theory of depoliticization. The study was based on a least likely case where the degree of politicization was examined in the Swedish Committee on European Affairs on the issue of the EU Recovery Fund. A hypothesis that depoliticization would prevail was formulated, and if the hypothesis proved to be supported in this study, the results could be generalized to other EU affairs in the Swedish party system. To answer the question, The EU Recovery Fund was divided into seven different sub-questions, which in turn was divided into two dimensions, economic redistribution on EU level and rule of law. Statements from four different parties, the Left Party, the Social Democratic Party, the Moderates and the Sweden Democrats, were analyzed using two analysis schemes. With the help of the analysis schemes, the disparity of the parties' positions were analyzed using standard deviations. A low standard deviation indicated that the issue was depoliticized, and a high standard deviation implied politicization. The depoliticization hypothesis was found to be supported in both of the dimensions. This study has therefore contributed with some evidence that EU affairs are depoliticized in the Swedish party system.

Stejskalová, Štěpánka January 2010 (has links)
The diploma thesis "Komparace postojů Irska a Velké Británie u vybraných aspektů Evropské integrace" deals with attitudes of Great Britain and Ireland to the politics of the European Union. Based on the available literature (using the descriptive and analytical method), the thesis proves how divergent or vice versa accordance are particular policies and approaches of these two states, whose past is completely different and has fundamental influence on contemporary access of these members to the European Union. Dimitrov, Đorđe January 2021 (has links)
The thesis examines the European Union as a mediator in the case of Belgrade-Pristina dialogue. The thesis is designed as a qualitative case study which compares three different stages of the case by implementing a combination of congruence method and process tracing. Drawing for the content and document analysis as well as four interviews conducted and two personal communications, the thesis analyses the factors which influenced effectiveness and compares them throughout three different phases of the mediation. Hosnedl, Daniel January 2020 (has links)
Specifics regarding methods of interpretation of the EU law and process of EU directives transposition Abstract This thesis is dedicated to the problematics regarding specifics of the European Union law interpretation methods. While majority of publications dealing with law interpretation adopts the perspective of judges and courts, and thus deals with the interpretations they render, this study adopts the viewpoint of a Czech legislator, who is facing a challenging task of transposing directives into the Czech legal order. In order for the transposition to be conducted properly, a thorough interpretation of the respective directive must precede. There is six standard and non- standard methods of interpretation at the legislator's disposal, including linguistic, logical, systematic, historical, theological and comparative one. Do these methods, however, prove to be fully applicable in case of the interpretation of the EU directives? Possibly, what would be the EU law norms interpretation specifics? This study represents an analysis of the given topic from the perspective of a legal theory and is structured into three main sections. The first section provides a brief definition of the legal interpretation as such and presents an overview of both historical and contemporary approaches towards the...

Den europeiska hälsounionen : Skapandet av en ny ordning inom den befintliga konstitutionella strukturen. / The European Health Union : The creation of a new regime within the existing constitutional structure

Ek, Oscar January 2022 (has links)

EU:s utvidgningspolitik och deras påverkan på demokratiska refomer i kandidatländer : En fallstudie av Serbien / EU's enlargement policies and their impact on democratic reforms in candidate countries : A case study of Serbia

Fransson, Emmy January 2024 (has links)
This study is a qualitative case study which aims to examine how the European Union enlargement politics might affect democratic reforms in Serbia which is a candidate country to the union. To achieve this, two questions were used: 1. How has the EU used normative power to get Serbia to implement democratic reforms and therefore improve their democratic status? 2. Has the EU succeeded, or failed, in getting Serbia to improve democratic reforms? The theoretical framework the study is based on is Ian Manners theory about normative power. Manners emphasized six strategies on how norms and values that the EU maintains are spread. The study uses documents and reports from the European Unions, as well as Freedom House, V-Dem, Transparency International and The World Justice Project. The conclusions that can be drawn from the study is that the EU uses different strategies to get Serbia to implement reforms to improve their democratic status. Despite this, Serbia has completed limited reforms and therefore the conclusion is that EU use of normative power has only been partially successful.
